Fawad in the limelight for ZGH, which has been followed by Khoobsurat promos, creating so much of publicity for him.
I'm very happy for him, that he's getting so much love before his Bollywood debut.
When one loves a star, does one get possessive about him/her in the subconscious mind, to the extent of blind support and slamming everything else?
I ask because in the last few days, there are blogs/tweets/FB posts/discussions all over the internet on the following, and it makes me wonder:
1) Everything is Fawad's contribution in Khoobsurat promo success. The Kapoor sisters are making the most of his popularity with ZGH. There is so much negativity to Sonam, Anil. So many things being said purely based on speculation.
(PS. Wasn't there so much speculation way before the trailer release, that this film is going to be a flop, Fawad is playing the role of a flower pot, this is a remake and he's going to get no screen presence because Rakesh Roshan hardly had a role in the original? etc etc, that the Kapoor sisters will also sideline him in the promos? Now that he has bee given so much love and respect, as he himself say, the cribs have changed, but still remain. )
2) People getting upset that he sang in the trailer launch Q&A session held in India, but refused to do so on some Pak shows.
3) Getting upset that he's been a total sport in CNWK, but again, didn't cooperate with the host for some fun in the 1st HumTV awards.
4) Fans feeling disappointed because he is doing this for money, and is unpatriotic to his country.
5)Bollywood is going to ruin his career because Indian's never give their stars any respect, and will short change him in the final edit.
Lets face it, Fawad is a big name in his country and he didn't have to be "bought" or "lured" to come and work here. He took up the project on his own accord and decision.
Similarly, Anil Kapoor ad family are big names here, whether we like it or not. They also didn't need to beg him to do the film with them.
From what we are seeing, he is being treated very well. Sonam didn't grab the limelight like she could have easily done at the launch, but people are looking at that and saying she is feeling insecure. She has always been OTT about all her co-stars because she is basically a motor mouth. She was as excited with her ex-friend Deepika on the previous KWK season too.
Why is it that whatever is being done for him by Indians is getting these reactions by Indians and the Pakistanis?
I adore Fawad Khan - he's a powerhouse of talent along with his drop dead looks, voice and the way he carries himself. Very few people like that in showbiz. He's a total gem.
So please don't get me wrong and throw bricks at me. I'm expecting replies "to chill" "don't over react" and other such things, but I think I'm entitled to feel this way, and say so here. Just like all these other discussions are happening and people are expressing their points of view.
As an Indian, I feel very bad to read these things. Just because we are open minded and able to criticize our own shows and people, doesn't mean that everything India is doing is wrong where Fawad is concerned.
I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
