Today's Take - Shatabdi Express Love Story
(no, I don't mean Shatabdi Sumer πŸ˜†)

undefined

Or should I call it ... Shantanu ki Sunehri Dastaan? Or Sunehri ki Supreme Stupidity? πŸ˜†

Episode overview -

Just a couple of days back, we were extolling the virtues of Sunehri's smart thinking ... baisas and bhaisas, I regret to inform you that we jumped the gun. πŸ€”
(almost as much as we may be jumping the gun regarding spoilers, so lesson learned ... believe nothing, expect the unexpected)

Two love stories going on in parallel in the show ... SuSha and ShaSu ... whichever order you like πŸ˜†

SuShan ... the express love story ... nazarein mili, dil dhadka ... pyaar hua, ikraar hua ... now we want to get married. And in the face of parental opposition, real or imagined, we will steal money and jewelry and run away.
Wonder what Mohini will say when she finds the family jewels missing πŸ˜†

ShaSum ... the love hate story ... starting with bickering like two five year old kids, itching powder, rubber lizards ... yaa yaa, you can't catch me ...

PaRud? Oh, they're married, they've even consummated their love ... PaRud love story is over. They're currently in the 'living happily ever after' phase. 😳

SuShan love story with roadblock Paro

Shantanu and Sunehri's love story takes off at express speed, derails at Paro roadblock, takes off again ... derails again ... takes off again ... and ultimately takes off, fuelled by Sunehri's stupidity, for what might be the final station.

So Shantanu did want to be caught by Paro ... and wanted her to push his marriage with Sunehri to the family. So he calls Sunehri on the terrace, and of course Paro follows, he made sure of that ... but to his annoyance, Paro turns down his well-rehearsed speech about his shatabdi express love for Sunehri ... she's not buying it. Yet. Paro remembers all the times she caught Shantanu in her room, and the Birpur women recognising him ... and decides, much to Shantanu' s shock ... 'No. Too much is happening too soon.'

Paro baisa, aapke aur hamare khayalat kitne milte julte hain! πŸ˜†

It is such a pleasure to see the return of the calm, sensible Paro! Without being impolite in the least, she puts her point across, and tells him, it's too soon ... hold your horses ... we don't know you at all ... and by the way, no meeting that silly girl again on terraces.

Shantanu stymied for the second time ... he thought he had Paro wrapped in the palm of his hand. Now what should he do? And more importantly, does Paro suspect anything?

Silly girl in the meantime, thinks her love story is on par with DDLJ, complete with Paro bhabhisa as the stern Amrish Puri ... the mind rather boggles at that one! πŸ˜† So the first rift between nanad and very worried bhabhi.

And the second rift the next day ... after Shantanu cries crocodile tears in front of Sunehri about her wicked roadblock bhabhi Paro ...

So Sunehri decides to run away with Shantanu and the family jewels. Shantanu is happy to oblige.

Sumer-Shatabdi ...
Sumer Shatabdi's love story, on the other hand, is sputtering along ... starting off with the typical kiddish nok jhoks beloved of certain writers ... what is so funny to see grown men and women behaving like five year old kids? If the show lasts long enough, I can see them becoming comfortably married very soon, and continuing to bicker about who gets which side of the bed, and who gets to shower first, etc., etc ... while Mohini continues to glower, and Sumer cheerfully ignores her.

They might even provide Mohini with her longed for grandkids eventually ... after they grow up, of course ... but that will take time. πŸ˜† PaRud are definitely winning the race here.

Currently the lead pair of this love story are at the five year old stage ... I put itching powder ... yeah yeah, I won ... I'll use a rubber lizard to scare you ... yeah yeah, I won too ...

It seems Sumer is following in Rudra bhaisa's footsteps ... no suhaag raat on first night after marriage, and for a long time thereafter. Only Shatabdi is smarter and more self-centred on such matters than Paro ... in that case, she'll take the large and very comfortable bed, thank you very much ... her pati parmeshwar can have the sofa.

This girl has her priorities right. πŸ˜†

Did like the small Sunehri Sumer scene ... ok, Sumer is not too bad a bad guy at heart ... he just hides it very well πŸ˜› under that stupid clownish exterior. He is concerned about his baby sister ... she hides her tragic love story from him ... with some very sage advice ... don't hurt the one you love ... and don't let anyone hurt them either.

Best for the last ... PaRud ... yes, even in small piecemeal scenes, and without any romance, they're still the best part of the episode. 😳
PaRud scene 1 - Paro and Rudra develop amnesia about last night ... goes to show that I was right, they have been a normal couple for ages, yesterday was no big deal, except for the gifts and the barn. Today they're back to discussing more important things, like how many bullets were fired, from which gun ... and decide to question Shantanu together.
Rudra asks Shantanu about the bullet ... seems to believe the answer ... and then goes off to bed, without waiting for beloved biwi, who stayed back to talk to Shantanu. He wasn't interested in what Shantanu wanted to say to Paro? Must say he has developed remarkable level of trust in the man after his initial reservations. πŸ˜•

Shantanu realises it might not be as easy as he thought to pull the wool over this couple's eyes.

PaRud 2 - Rudra remembers Paro wanted to say something the previous night (obviously they forgot about it last night ... must have been busy otherwise πŸ˜‰ ) ... Paro wants to tell Rudra about Sunehri and Shantanu ... but he rushes off to office.

PaRud 3 - Later at night, Paro tells Rudra about Shantanu Sunehri ki Prem Kahani ... and the kahani mein twist ... that she suspects something is not quite right about Shantanu ...

Ay lo ... did Paro forget that Rudra said the same thing to her not too long ago? 😲 And that he almost got into trouble at the BSD because of that? Almost ... it seems VK Singh forgot about his orders as soon as he gave them ... and Rudra apparently forgot his suspicions. Because he's fast asleep ... and doesn't hear a word Paro tells him.

Kostin ... why didn't Paro tell Maithili, her usual confidante? πŸ˜•

So Paro goes to question Shantanu again ... sees a photo under his pillow, and almost gets a glimpse ... before Shantanu interrupts, in the nick of time. Minor altercation with Shantanu, he preserves his facade, but only just.

Kostin ... how many photographs of Varun is Shantanu carrying with him anyway? And if he has so many, why doesn't he put them in an album? In a safe place? Safer than under his pillow? And how does he have a photograph of himself at the Varun-Paro wedding? I thought there were no survivors in the baraat?

Sunehri decides to run away with Shantanu and family jewels ... Shantanu, mann mein laddo phooting, agrees. πŸ˜† Silly Sunehri makes things easy for him after all.

Next morning ... Paro goes to make up with Sunehri ... only to find her missing.

And precap ... Shantanu says Sunehri has served his purpose. Now what?
Will he actually kill her? Or will he allow Paro to find them and agree for the wedding?

Update will be late

--------------- Updated -----------

The episode was good... I could still see some disconnect between the scenes here and there but... I decided to ignore and not talk about them for today 😊...

Episode starts with Shantanu and Sunheri playing pyaar pyaar... And Paro walking in on them... Finally giving Shantanu what he wanted... But it is not as easy as he thought, was it?? His plan fails again as Paro doesn't jump right in like he expected, to get him hooked up with Sunheri. Paro was awesome in that scene... She (Thank God!) realized that something was not right about Shantanu πŸ‘πŸΌ. She connected few of the dots and understood that they don't know much about him... Also, she was smart enough to keep her doubts to herself and talk to him with a straight face...

People like Shantanu and Laila mistake Paro's innocence with stupidity.. The difference is what we saw today... Paro is naive but definitely not at all stupid. Too bad, Shantanu underestimated her.. Once she feels something is wrong, no one can convince her otherwise, except for herself. Once that doubt about Shantanu started, she didn't believe everything he said blindly or did she try to just brush it off.. I like how sweetly she made Sunheri leave and spoke with clarity to Shantanu.. She didn't show any confusion or doubt regarding her decision. She knew what was happening was wrong and she made it clear he understood too. πŸ‘πŸΌ

So, the bullet does come back into picture again... Great. Rudra without suspecting Shantanu, goes directly to him for answers... He cooks up a story of Silencer and Rudra believes it without any further questions?? Ok, Fine.. But when he asked about this... Then, why didn't he ask Shantanu how he entered their bedroom that night, when the Stalker locked it from the inside and Rudra couldn't . I agree Rudra is busy with his Border dance... I know he is not at home a lot these days.. I understand.. But him trusting Shantanu to the extent of leaving Paro with him?? To the extent of not even doubting his cooked up stories?? Not even asking him the right questions about that Bullet wala night?? I don't understand.πŸ˜•...

Sumeer does have a heart❀️.. It was nice to know that it existed in him... Sumeer and Sunheri, Bro-Sis scene was nice.. Felt realistic. And, these newly weds are keeping count on their wins and loses now... This would be a great fun to watchπŸ˜†. Hopefully we will get much more funny scenes than the Chipkali one today. It looks like our Sumeer Banna also hates lizards.. Wondering who the other person who hates Chipkali is... MEπŸ˜ƒ. I can't stand them. But seriously, even I wouldn't run like he did by seeing a rubber Chipkali πŸ˜›.

Did Rudra just say, 'Sir' on the phone?? I thought he was acting on his own regarding the border hulchul case without notifying Mr.Singh... Now that it is confirmed that he does know.. What happened to the suspension? Why did we get that scene? How did it help the story? I agree, We got a PaRud hug. For that we don't need Mr.Singh to be mean to Rudra, Right?. Too much confusion. CV's hope you know where you are taking the story to.πŸ€”

I don't know what PaRud did the previous night after talking to Shantanu, but they sure didn't talk about anything πŸ˜‰... Rudra does try to talk to his wife before leaving to work the next day but the call spoils everything... Wasn't it supposed to be Aman who calls to disturb during important moments... Oh! or maybe he calls to disturb only when PaRud are in do not disturb mode πŸ˜†... And seriously CV's, you show Rudra sleeping peacefully when Paro was trying to talk to him?? Yeh ho kya raha hai ... How can a wife and husband not get time to talk to each other for 5 minutes in 2 whole days. That to when it is an important matter. I am missing the old haveli and old PaRud bedroom so much... That was much spacious and we always got sweet PaRud scenes for each night... Now, we are starving to see 'Jhalak' of PaRud sleeping on their bed peacefully cuddled up in each other's arms.πŸ˜‰

Good that Paro went to talk to Shantanu... She almost saw the pic of Varun and also saw how posessive he was of the picture. In future she might connect to this scene and come back to find that picture. Hopefully she does😊.

Sunheri... What can I say about this girl... Were we not celebrating just few days back, showering her with praises, crediting her that she was not as gullible as she looked... Well, we spoke too soon *face palm*... This girl has totally lost it in the name of her 'so called love' . She wants to run away. Ok, let her. I get it, she was desperate... But to steal money and jewelry from home. Her love is not blind, it is purely dumb. What was she thinking?πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ.. Also, wasn't her hero a wardi wala... Which means, hello! he has a job.

I always heard the idiom "chat Mangni, pat Vivah" but never saw "Chat Pyaar, Pat Baggo"... Sunheri doesn't even know this guy for a month and she initiated that they run away with the awesomely stolen goods. Perfecto.

And the precap, even though they made it look scary.. I have a feeling that it won't be that scary. If Sunheri sees Shantanu's true face then she is a liability. That means, he wants to kill her... And if he does, then how will he re-enter Ranawat house... Saying what? He might either marry her or bring her back saying, we are doing a wrong thing by running away.. Becoming instant hero again in everyone's eyes... This is RR so anything can happen... Good to be prepared aheadπŸ˜‰

Thanks for the link Shweta (I hope I can call you that????... Diya, am just copying my thoughts on the episode as I had already posted on Praba's thread... And I will reply to yours on a separate post...

Today's episode was okay for me!!!! It was again all about Shantanu, though the Major made his presence felt a bit more than the past week!!! I still have trouble comprehending the glitches in the flow and the story, I'll let it pass... I wonder at the rate at which the creatives are adding springs to the story to fast forward it, where are they headed to exactly????? I will leave this for some other post... πŸ˜†

So the episode... Paro is slowly and steadily turning into Sherlock Holmes and Rudra has become a shadow of his former self!!! So the bullet did find its way to Aman and its identity got confirmed - it came from a BSD gun!!!! Even Shantanu owned up to it... Paro has got the wheels in her head running, while the sharp-witted Major simply turns off on his heels hearing Shantanu's answer!!!!! {Isn't the Major supposed to be a bit worried or am i missing something???}

Way to go Paro... She flat out refused to the Shant-Sun marriage idea!!!!! πŸ‘πŸΌ I loved Paro in there!!!! Shantanu is losing his ground, almost giving himself away with his contorting expressions but quickly controls his frustrations, just in time as Paro turns towards him twice!!!! More doubts on Paro's mind...

Sunheri is now being impossible!!!!! Who falls in love in 4 days, agrees to eloping with a complete stranger she has known for just 4 days and is angry at her Bhabi-sa for trying to make her understand??? I am either too insensitive or love is indeed that powerful... [:-S]

Major Rudra - Fleeting glimpses here and there and some major disconnect in his interactions with his wife!!! Agreed he loves his uniform and job more than his wife, but still the CVs could have one some better writing... Paro keeps talking about Sunheri and Shantanu, and he dozes off!!!! Paro, the detective decides to go and Shantanu in the middle of the night to find answers... And she almost finds them, until the villain barges in with his crocodile tears!!!!πŸ˜†

Anyways, the best scene was the Sumer Shatabdi scene!!!! They are plain hilarious... I enjoy them seeing on-screen!!!! Sumer the rat and Shatabdi the lioness, hell bent on scaring the hell out of Mr. Ranawat Jr.!!!! Gosh, Sumer's reaction when shis lovely wife got the fake lizard!!!! 🀣

EDITED:
Precap:
Shantanu changes colors faster than a chameleon does!!!! First he ran away with Sunheri (probably taking the money and jewellery she got), then he is acting all weird with her and poor Sunheri has no idea where she has landed herself into!!! The family is all worried for her and I'm sure Mr. Dimpled Villain would make a grand entry and cook up a delicious recipe to their disappearance, leaving the Ranawats lapping it all up, happily!!!! πŸ˜†

Wonderful takes Diya!
Wow - how fast was that?
a marriage proposal, a denial, a secret love being found out, a family breakdown and then an elopement on top of other tracks! What is in the Chandangarh air that leads to such deep declarations of love in the blink of an eye? they definitely have no issues of not being able to express their feelings! I actually understood Paro when she said 'slow down' and 'find some more out about Shantanu' rather than get in awe of love's young dream!
I know Shantanu had a motive - but still how quickly did Sunehri fall for it - magic Dimples i tell you!

@Diya - brilliant analysis of three love stories -
yes Sumer and Shatabdi were awesome - I do see a future for them - I would still like some respect for his wife from Sumer before I feel he deserves her - but their battles are funny and should definitely appeal to the kids in teh family!
Parud were awesome as usual - Major-sa was very tired, wow defintely don't belief in the 8 raat har saal anymore - he can't have tired himself out that quickly and not even tried to rekindle the barn experience with his lady love - who seemed to have a lot more energy
Loved that Paro's brains are ticking away and suspecting Shantanu - was expecting this track to last a little longer and for Shantanu to do more reeling in - but I have no idea what is going on in the CVs heads.
I also think the CVs must be in this forum a lot the suggestion that Paro and Rudra should crack Shantanu together is already coming true!
Not sure why Paro didn't tell Maithali - too occupied with barn thoughts?
and yes way too many photos of Varun! Now that's what i call brotherly love - hope we get more backstory on that and whether Shantanu knew his brother was a terrorist or not - i think he did
Pre-cap suspense - will Shantanu spill the real motive to Sunehri or is it another trap?

Song for Sunehri and Shantanu - cos that WAS FAST!

Res again to reply to Diya!!! 😊
EDIT 1:
Wonderful titles and so very apt!!!!!
Shantanu ki Sunehri Dastaan - What do they say???? Yes, their story will be written in golden ink/ words in the pages of RR history!!!!!!πŸ˜‰
And yes, this Shatbdi Express of a love story is rushing so fast that it feels like it will be over in the blink of an eye!!!!πŸ˜† 🀣
Lovely takes Diya, but I have to come back tomorrow with more!!! Am sleepy and hence logging off!!!! Good night, but will be back tomorrow... πŸ€—
EDIT 2:
I typed out an impossible long response and then lost all data!!!! 🀒
IF too doesn't want to trouble itself with such long replies, hence will keep this one short!!!!!!πŸ˜†
EDIT 3:
SuShan, ShaSum, SuMo, ShaMo - Aren't there way too many S's in the Ranawat house????πŸ˜‰ Okay, bad one!!!!!
Moving on, you got some awesome titles Diya!!!!! Shantanu ki Sunheri love story udi Shatabdi Express ki Speed se...πŸ˜‰
SuShan love story with roadblock Paro

Shantanu and Sunehri's love story takes off at express speed, derails at Paro roadblock, takes off again ... derails again ... takes off again ... and ultimately takes off, fuelled by Sunehri's stupidity, for what might be the final station. -> Awesome!!! πŸ‘
Wow, 4-day old eternal love story for Sunheri and Shantanu, and for which Sunheri is ready to do anything... Even going to the length of her mother's jewelry and some money to elope with the man of her dreams for a happily-ever-after!!!!!!! Poor girl, life is much more than a rosy fairytale...
Paro... Now she is what I loved seeing!!!!! Finally, the CVs have decided to return her her brains and once she got it, she's set the wheels running... At the speed of Shatabdi Express... πŸ˜†
But seriously, given all her attributes of being called nave, easily trusting and believing in everybody, she has brains and uses them when its needed!!!!! πŸ‘
Wow, she flat out refused and Shantanu's plan flopped!!!! He was trying so hard to contain his frustrations and his expression... Paro caught him twice unawares!!!!πŸ‘
Increasing doubts by the day, and she is turning into quite the detective... Shantanu has indeed underestimated both the Major and his wife!!!!
LOL, DDLJ style love story for Sunheri with Paro as Amrish Puri... πŸ˜†
The bullet's mystery is solved and Rudra is slowly becoming a shadow of his former self... Doesn't even wait for his wife to follow him... Are they really recently married couple???? No after-shocks or silly smiles after barn romance??? Truly a very normal couple, another first for RR!!! πŸ˜‰
ShaSum - Their love story has a long way to go and till then we have to enjoy the bickering between the two overgrown kids!!!

With the kind of fights they are shown having, even 5-year olds will be put to shame!!!!
@Bold: PaRud definitely have got a head start... And now Mohini would be left fuming at Sumer as well!!!!
Paro and Rudra have got a lot of questions to answer for the viewers!!!!!! πŸ˜†
Partial amnesia, indifference, change of confidantes, not looking out for his wife after their convo. confrontation with a shady BSD officer... Don't they appear to be married for a decade, so in line with their daily chores????
Anyways, to answer your kostins...
Answer 1: Maybe CVs forgot about Paro-Maithili being a team or they are just trying to keep Maithili out of this mess!!!!! Or maybe because the sisters-in-law share quite an old bond...
Answer 2: Now is Shantanu really the revengeful, psycho villain he was initially supposed to be??? Instead of the occasional lines about him coming to get revenge from Paro and Rudra, he hasn't been really surprising...πŸ˜•
Awesome posts Diya!!!!!1
Sorry to leave you with a terribly long post!!!!πŸ˜†

One for Hope's take...

EDITED:
Hope, I hope am not too late... πŸ˜‰
Lovely post, loved reading it!!!! πŸ‘ I too am so disappointed with the disconnect and the flow of scenes and story, that I have chosen to ignore them so that I can somewhat enjoy the episode...
Agreed, Paro is most often mistaken for a dumb person, when in reality she's a lot more than that... She's practical, understanding and knows how to react when!!!!! Most importantly, she's anything but dumb!!!! I agree that she trusts too easily, but its her nature to find the good in everyone and give everyone a chance... And when something that dubious crops up, she can actually use her brains!!!!
Unlike Rudra... I mean, what is happening to him??? He is no longer the intelligent, sharp Major who was feared by one and all... He has been noticing Shantanu, has got some doubts, got a bullet shell as a clue, goes and confronts the only person he can doubt on and then what???? Leaves behind his wife all alone and trudges up the steps to fall asleep... πŸ˜•
Coming to Sumer, he is actually a good soul and has a good heart behind that exterior of the goofy and idiotic right-hand of his mom!!!! It was a nice scene with Sunheri... where Sunheri went on to give him lessons regarding her experience from 4-day old love saga!!!!
Sunheri is in for a rude shock, when she would see the true colors of Shantanu and I just hope she doesn't behave foolishly with everyone, saying that nobody understands her feelings or cares for her... She has lost all her processing capabilities in her blind/ dumb "love"!!!!!!
Yes, yes Rudra did say Sir...πŸ˜‰ Some small cases of partial amnesia fro everyone, when it shouldn't be!!!!!πŸ˜†
I so wanted Paro to see that picture!!!!! πŸ˜” But no, in the very last moment the picture is snatched out of her hands leaving Paro to ponder more over this guy's actions!!!!πŸ‘
I love it when Paro uses her brains...πŸ˜‰
I always heard the idiom "chat Mangni, pat Vivah" but never saw "Chat Pyaar, Pat Baggo"... Sunheri doesn't even know this guy for a month and she initiated that they run away with the awesomely stolen goods. Perfecto.
@Bold: What hilariously awesome lines!!!! πŸ‘

One for Shweta... {Thank you!!!}... πŸ€—

I had to move forward and then come back...πŸ˜†
The quotes were awesome, befitting all the people in the frame right now!!!!
First one goes to Rudra... He wakes up, goes to work, comes back home and sleeps!!!! That's it!!!!!πŸ˜† Too much activity at the border and no activity happening at home... πŸ˜†
Well, most of the other are for Sunheri, though a few can be accorded to Sumer as well... The poor guy has a golden heart behind his goofy exterior!!!!
Lovely quotes and the collages are nostalgia... What wouldn't I give to go back to those times!!!!
And I love your quotes and collages!!!! One collage = one scene!!!! πŸ‘ πŸ‘ πŸ‘
