Finalllyy - this show has started after weeks of anticipation! I love things supernatural and y'know different and the promos to Fanaah were so cool and well produced. Fanaah actually isn't that bad. You can tell that there have been influences from other shows or books but with all the parallel tracks running together, it creates a nice story.

What I like:

The Cast!

I have to admit, I was a bit iffy on Ratan but in the first episode - SHE was the highlight! I honestly couldn't care less about Vivaan/Vidhyut battle with Dhara (Anvi? What's her name again?) shouting at them - because I didn't understand what was going on (I'm sure I'll care about their characters later on) - anyway - I just love Ira already. There's nothing better than taking revenge on those who want to sacrifice you just because you're a widow. I loved her as Iravati and those sneakpeeks of her as the modern (?) Ira. She looked awesomely badass.

THAT MYSTERIOUS GUY. (Anshuman?) I didn't pay much attention to him in the first episode even though he was standing behind Dhara and then made Iravati a vampire. In the second episode however, I was so intrigued by his character. (that and I finally saw his face in the daylight lol) - ps, I think he was brilliantly cast in terms of looks (not sure about his acting yet) - there's something mysterious to the guy, slightly grey and yet vulnerable at the same time especially when mini vivaan was helping him. BTW, I have a feeling that he has a link to Preet! Maybe he's the run away lover? Ooh.

Liking Anita as Preet, or shall I say the Indian Miss Havisham and the witch? Not too sure on what the hell Dhara/Avni is meant to be but maybe she's a ghost? Or something else that meant she couldn't physically stop the fight in the first scene?

What I Don't Like:

It's so dark! I want more light scenes (not in terms of genre comedy lol).

The production isn't that great but then again it is Indian TV and it's better than the usual shows so meh, can't complain there.

The college(?) kids. Ashwini and the others that were talking about Ira. Who were they again? Like can we get a little idea on if they're important or just little plots to get the story along?

Overall thoughts:

I like the transition from one plot to another. Fanaah, though it may seem it has lots of plots going on, it all links together. I love the small details like how Vivaan's best buddy is the dog and his other best friend is from a werewolf background. I'm really hoping for some vampire/werewolf bromance between Vidhyut and Vivaan please show! (Before Dhara comes and it all goes down lol)

I feel like it's all like a tree. Preet is obv connected to Dhara who is connected to Vivaan who ends up meeting the mystery guy who made Ira a vampire. Now need to connect Vidhyut into this.
