This song was such a hit in 90s . Lovely song. I wondered if everyone knew about this. It always brings tears in my eyes, great song for unity (: It had so many BW stars, sportsmen like Prakash Padukone, singers like Bhimsen Joshi! It has so many feelings :')

The new version of it sucks though :\

I LOVE this song.. we would wake up on Sunday listening to this song as it played early morning.. I even remember most of the lyrics of the song! (okay maybe not some of the languages of the south, but still..) So emotional and wonderful it is.. makes you feel proud of unity in diversity in India.. the beautiful culture of so many regions..

It was so beautifully shot as well.. all the people chosen were according to the region which gave it a better touch when they sang in their own mother tongues, not like this new one. All the popular actors from various regions, popular sports person, people of the ad world etc. were there. Arrangement of music and everything else was so good..

Aaahh I love love love this song. <3

I loved this song as kid & still do. I remember trying to sing it along even in different languages and have it memorized even though I didn't understand other Indian languages.

It has that connect which new doesn't. And to see all stars in one was a huge thing back then. 😃
