Both protagonists, now bound by marriage, will eventually fall in love again - this time with one another. My question is, will Raman ever love Ishita as much as he loved Shagun? And by extension therefore, will Ishita ever love Raman as much as she loved Subbu?

I think at this point, Raman and Ishita are in love with each other, but both don't really realize it yet. They were hinting at it last month with "Are you sure you're not in love with me?" scenes at the hospital and clinic, but I don't either of them are ready to fully accept it

In Raman's case, he fell in love with Shagun, and built a life with her. Coddled her, paid attention to her every whim, was a good man to her...so when she left, he entered the shell that he did, because even though he was a "good" husband, he still failed so badly and lost his kids in the process. With his marriage to Ishita, not only is he able to view his first marriage in a clearer light, he can also see just what his marriage lacked: a partner who valued him in the same way back. Like that scene in the beginning of Ishra's marriage, where he burned his hand on the stove and Ishita immediately placed his hands in ice...there was a flashback of him asking Shagun for some help for the same thing, but she was too busy with Adi to care. So to answer your question, I think he will eventually love Ishita much much more than he ever loved Shagun

Ishita's relationship with Subbu is a bit different in that he backed out before things got even more messy (aka them getting married). But that didn't make things easier for Ishita . TBH, I hope the CVs explore more of Ishita's past with Subbu because i feel like I don't know much about it. What was the nature of their relationship? What did she see in him? Why did she love him? I don't know therefore I feel like I can't comment on it.

I believe that once u have been in love and experienced very bad things u tend to become more cautious. what i mean is that u know what u want from ur partner, wat u don't want from your partner. yes for sure in ur new partner u ll find bad things, which ur previous love might not have had, but also vice versa. its also possible that start appreciating ur new love, as it has better things which ur previous love couldn't offer u. in terms of YHM raman has seen how selfish a person can be (SHAGUN) and with ishita, he has seen a selfless person. i still remember that scene where he burnt his hand and ishu put his hand into ice-in the flashback he had to ask shogun to get ice. also now when raman sees ishu's love and concern for ruhi, and also the best example the good upbringing of ruhi (where she apologises to raman of being a bad girl after he shouted at ruhi), whereas shogun left no stone unturned to get adi against him. this points are enough to say that ishra's love for each other will be stronger

Love the fact that how different people think about "love" here ... although its one universal emotion but different people have different expectations / pov about it.. Thanks for this post otherwise i wudnt have read all the beatiful new meaning that people hv given to love...

You're very welcome!

The forum seems to have divided opinions regarding whether Ishita and Raman are in love or not. As you have said, the word "love" has different connotations for different individuals. I think I am speaking for the minority here when I say that I feel they are not in love just yet. They are beginning to value each other, and there has definitely been a progress in their friendship. Here's to hoping that the writers do not butcher the story post confession!

Thank you for replying!

I have been quite adamant in saying that Ishita and Raman are not in love yet, but the idea of them being in love and not realising this emotion, seems quite plausible. It really depends how you wish to interpret it! You have described one of my favourite scenes of the serial; it allowed the viewers to see the contrast between the characters of Ishita and Shagun. You raised an important question in your final point; I hope the writers are able to show remnants of ishita's past and answers all our questions. By extension, however, I wonder what Raman saw in Shagun; in all the flashbacks, it is clear how uninterested, demanding and rude she was - how did Raman not pick up on this?

Many thanks for your reply!

I agree with your point about learning from our experiences; both Raman and Ishita and more mature and are stronger individuals now because of their pasts. I believe the two will love each other much, much more than they loved their previous partners! It will be interesting to see how this all pans out; here's to hoping the writers do not butcher the story post confession!
