It was not last. I think the one before (not sure). I found that she was a bit off-key in the middle. It was one where Javed ji praised her and I am serious that I am brain dead here. I even wanted to post on your 'best rendition by each contestant' thread but I could hardly remember anyone other than Emon's O Majhi re and Deepali's 'Ab ke sajan sawan mein'.

Maya, were u talking about ankita's tu vishaal hai performance? how the song choice wasnt right at that stage? it was not a popular song, bad choice for votes (tho it didnt really matter because she made it to the next round)

He is already my Indian Idol. That way I won't get a shock.

Now on serious note I believe Sonu Nigam's constant praising and Karunya's exceptional singing brought him to top 2. Otherwise TRP of such shows is low in South of India because people have their own local shows. So the voting was not regional based. It was not just his singing but Sonu Nigam's standing ovations made a HUGE difference. Why he didn't win? The reason is there in my second part of the other post😉😆.

On the other hand Amey was an exceptional singer too but Sonu Nigam criticized him a lot. I always though he picked up on Amey's minutest mistakes and many a times overlooked Karunya's mistakes like in that soft number 'sanson ko sanson se'. That did influence voting. If it was not for harsh comments of Sonu Nigam then I am sure we would have seen Amey in final 3 at least.

Payalia, I can't remember the song but I remember while watching I commented on her going off-key but Javed ji praised her. Another instance was Udit Narayan correcting a contestant (again forgot name and song) and Javed ji said he was flawless.
