Critics interviewed: Mihir Fadnavis, Anupama Chopra, Rajeev Masand, Raja Sen and Mayank Shekhar

Synopsis:

First scan is more or less about the critics telling how and why they came in this profession, and their thoughts on whether the digital space has democratised movie reviewing or filled it up with amateurs or fanboys.
In the Second scan, they speak about the challenges of the job and the 5 star rating system.
The Third Scan, they discuss about how critics tend to write reviews, their own approach, and the good/bad/ugly reactions they have got over the years(most interesting part). Third scan also contains some quick Q and A's.

Here are the 3 scans:

TFS..
Nice read .. The third page where they talk about people taking criticism was interesting...
And lol.. Masand's guilty pleasure is Hello Brother ? I am surprised ..
Knowing him, I thought , even for this he would take the name of a h'wood movie...

Chalo someone liked it at least..😆

@bold: Even I found that part most interesting. Two people took Anurag Kashyap's name.. it is nice to know he was open to discussing various interpretations and opinions people might have of his story.

I would have loved to read The Vigil Idiot's interview too. His reviews are the most unique and different from the lot. He usually doesn't compare the movies to other HW movies or have lofty ideas. He mostly just questions logic.

LMAO@ Masand's guilty pleasure being HELLO BROTHER🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Can't get over that...hahahaha

Thanks for posting, Nikita :-) Nice read! I quite like Mihir Fadnavis reviews...he's not one of those types trying oh so hard to be CLEVER while writing a review...I can generally trust his opinion about a movie and go watch it.

Masand has kinda lost me in recent years...I used to be able to rely on his reviews more before that...lol

A good critic that you can trust can really shape your love for cinema. My favorite is no more 😔. RIP Mr.Ebert..

I remember when Lootera came out, even I was one of the early critics of it on a first watch😆...and I remember a Motwane interview published around that time where he acknowledged most of the criticism quite gracefully...maybe that was done by this Mihir guy only? Not sure...but yes in general these guys are definitely able to handle criticism much better than the mainstream commercial directors.

LOL Vigil Idiot bole toh that Sahil Rizwan guy? I don't think there is some deep thought process behind his comic strip that would have fit in with the vibe of the rest of the ppl interviewed for this article...and of late, I find myself less than amused by his reviews...he used to funnier in his early years.
