When you are a writer you cant help but over-analyze things... its kinda a given which is what makes me start this post, which let me warn you is a tad long, like all my posts 😆
After the initial euphoria of last night' episode I was sorta in a haze to think things through but a good night' sleep helps your mind clear that. Only I dont know how much sense this post still makes :P
I cant help but be amazed with the way the recent episodes especially the scenes shown in court are being handled.
Just 2 days back we had that beautiful scene where Ishita was shown pouring her heart out to her lawyer to make her understand why she cant see Raman being subjected to any humiliation that may be the consequence of any awkward questions posed to him, since they would directly affect those around him. He isn't alone were her precise words cos he has his family around him though they are on the opposite sides this time around and last night, oh how beautifully that came to the fore.
Raman is already aware he is making a huge mistake by hiding the truth, but last night the gravity of Ishita' words sank in when he learned from Neil, it was Amma who asked him to prove in the court she wasn't in a sound frame of mind when the accident happened because she is worried sick about the repercussions of this case on her daughter Ishita and SIL Raman' marital life.
The guilt that was already overwhelming him, but yet... yet wasn't so powerful that it could shake the father in him, got jolted. Man is known as the only social animal because he establishes ties, makes bonds but the source of all those ties begins with you yourself as a person... with your existence come all ties - the ties don't make up for your existence. You are a child, sibling, spouse, parent, friend later - you begin with your individual self first. Last night a guilty Raman, not the father but the man was shaken since he realized what is his decision doing to those around him. He began seeing what Ishita meant when she said he has everyone connected with him - the husband, the son, the SIL was already wrought with guilt, this blow though finally served to make a dent in the armor that the father in him chose to adopt to defend his son.
I loved it how he went weak in the knees the moment the truth struck him, enough to make him physically be affected too, making him voice out for the first time the question that he perhaps has been running from for so long - Main Yeh Kya Kar Raha Hoon? It was a question aimed at Pathak, but really that was Raman' conscience speaking out - speaking aloud for the first time... making him question his own decision - what is he doing here? He has lost his way so completely here - whether by choice or (it being a plan of his to trap Shagun into admitting her negligence in court all along) or him being an emotional fool, whatever it is he realized he is playing with the feelings of so many people here by having this one track-mind, this tunnel vision that only is focused on his son here.
He was burdened with hurting Ishita as it is, but reasoned with himself that whatever he is doing its for his son and in the end, since he has a belief, a conviction that Ishita will understand him once this mess is over he let himself make the mistakes he did... but Amma' gesture knocked him out since he was made to question his right to hurt so many people at once. That night when they talked in the party Raman' friend hosted- Raman had said Ishita cant compete with Adi in his life, because they each have their own place, none can affect the other, but that of course turned out differently. As they say easier said than done. He knows he is choosing one person over his entire family here already and is ashamed as it is, but it just struck him - is picking one person no matter how much you may love them worth the pain that he is making all these people go through here? Is really being Adi' father the only thing that matters here, doesn't he have to think of the others in his life too?
Ishita, he feels possessive about, territorial - and that makes him think he can do what he is doing and still somehow make her come around. Since even when she is hurt, angry and disappointed with him - he notices she still cares for him. She got Ruhi to agree for the trip, fought with Ashok since she believed him, even after the truth is out (as per her) she sent Ruhi the other night to look after him and of course the way she reasoned with Kaul. When he had come around to talk with her that day, he had perhaps wanted a quiet moment with Ishita to just explain himself to her somewhat, instead what he heard her say to Kaul left him even more ashamed of himself, his actions - since he could see this woman even in so much despair is looking after him and those around them, but most of all he could see the faith that she still has in him. Her words that she knows him, knows he is lying served as a major blow to him, more than anything.
Of course I cant complete this post without writing about the scene outside the court last night. Raman had a lot going on for him since days and he was backed into a corner and with his lecherous ways PervMeet finally gave him a much needed stress-buster 😆 and us some eye-candy LOL, seriously fights in rain are like now my favorite thing. Moving on from my fancies... I loved the whole metaphoric way this scene was laid out too.
Perv being himself couldn't help but be cheap and of course had to go and eve-tease Ishita and Raman saw that happen and beat the crap out of him - all because the man dared to misbehave with his biwi. I cant help but compare this with the way the accident track began - Raman saw Amma on the road in a pool of her blood, rushed her to the hospital and saved her life, also paid her bills and later he started his quest for searching the culprit.
Here Raman saw his wife being misbehaved, just as he witnessed Amma as a victim. His actions began to avenge his wife last night much like how he did all that he did for Amma because of Ishita too... but somewhere along the way it became about him.
The moment he learned its his son Raman got blindsided with his love... much as he was bashing Perv up last night after a point because he needed that vent for himself.
Ishita came to stop him, but he wasn't pacified only when he witnessed Ishita stepping back the moment Shagun came forth did he really stop moving. His wife was the only one he had eyes for at the moment and he could clearly see why she was retreating. This can be compared to how Ishita wanted him to stop once they felt Perv was the culprit since she didn't want any more issues in the family, but he was adamant and marched on and stayed on his path until he learned its his son who is to blame here...but just like here Ishita felt it was Shagun' influence that calmed him down, she is assuming its his love for her that makes him defend her making her so withdrawn from Raman recently.
Of course this makes me also wonder if the next actions are the foreshadowing of the events to come. Raman whose hand was held by Shagun, freed himself from her hold and went straight to Ishita and chose to take her away even if by force and when she asks him to let go of her he yells back, having had enough of her silence, her snubbing him - by asserting his right over her with one line - Nahi Chhodunga, Biwi Ho Tum Meri.
Raman' shadow Mihir said last night - they are waiting for his return and he knows that Raman would come back to them...and once that happens, even if Ishita tries to back off, say she wants to withdraw the case, learning it is Adi who is the culprit here, much like she wanted his grip loosened, he would assert his claim once again as her husband, this time to let her know he is with her all the way and she need not back off because of him or because of his love for Adi, which was the thing holding him back for so long...
PS I might not be able to reply to everyone - I am lagging on my OS' as it is .. sorry 😳
