CHAPTER 74 (B). EK PAL KE LIYE HI SAHI! PART I

Day - 5 Tuesday

Maan and Arnav plastered another fake smile on their face as another guest entered the hall and both the men welcomed them. Out of all the moments of the party, both the men hated this part where they, as the host of the party, had to welcome their guests by standing at the door and smiling at every other person entering the party. Of course not all the persons entering the party were tolerable by MSK and ASR. Most of them were idiots who annoyed our business tycoons by being too friendly or too annoying. For example, there was Mr. Khanna, who was a businessman of 50 years of age and had the habit of hugging every one of his associates. Maan and Arnav dreaded that man's arrival so much that the moment his arrival was announced, both decided to scramble away rambling about some important phone call. Fortunately, Dev and Aakash were standing right behind them and took over the hosting duties for the time being or else Anjali would have strangled both Maan and Arnav for ignoring their duties, businessmen or not!

As Maan and Arnav scrambled off, Anjali entered the hall from the stairs. They had decided to host the party in Sheeshmahal's main hall. Naani, Maama, Maami, Amma, Buaji and Daadima, all had boycotted the party knowing very well that there will be alcohol and what not and they preferred to stay away from that type of parties. Shyam followed Anjali, both with a smile on their faces. Naani had taken over Kanha's babysitting duties for the night and the child was already asleep after getting goodnight kisses from his Mummy and Daddy.

Behind Anjali and Shyam followed the Gupta sisters; Paayal, Lavanya and Khushi, all three looking beautiful in their Sarees. While Lavanya showed of her fashion sense by wearing a sexy golden Saree with sleeveless blouse which was perfect for the corporate party, Paayal opted for something classy and elegant with a champagne pink saree with golden border. Khushi was, as you know, dressed in the green Saree which Arnav specifically ordered for her; of course, she did not know that!

As Khushi got down the stairs her eyes which was nervously looking around found Arnav's eyes and her breath left at the stunned expression on Arnav's face. She walked down the stairs with her eyes only on Arnav while Arnav stared at her continuously. Suddenly, Arnav's phone rang and he checked it to see a message from Geet. He frowned and opened it. As he saw the message, his eyes narrowed in annoyance. The message stated, "Oye! Itna bhi use ghooro mat ki love story ka parda faash idhar hi ho jaaye!" He looked up the stairs to see Geet standing on the top of it, grinning madly as she waved her mobile while getting down. Arnav rolled her eyes and huffed, "Motormouth kahin ki!"

As Arnav walked towards the stairs, his mobile beeped again. He looked at the screen only to see another message from Geet, "Yaad rakho! Aapko Lavanya ko haath dena hai! Khushi ko haath de ke sab gadbad mat kar dena!" Arnav growled while Geet giggled from her place at top of the stairs. Arnav walked forward and gave his right hand to Lavanya while Aakash did the same beside him and extended his hand to Paayal. Both the girls took the hands in front of them and descended the last few steps. As both the men tucked the ladies' hands into their arm, Khushi got down the stairs while being brought back to reality. Till now her eyes were lost in Arnav but the moment Lavanya gave her hand to Arnav, she was brought back to the real world where Arnav was her future brother-in-law and not her lover. She got down the last few steps, sadness laced in her heart. As they walked a few steps ahead, Arnav stopped and turned around to look at Khushi.

"Tumhein kya lagta hai, main tumhein chod dunga?", Arnav's spoke and Khushi snapped her head towards him unable to believe what he had said. Hey Devi Maiyya! Yeh sabke saamne kya keh rahe hain? Paayal, Aakash and Lavanya also stopped walking. Khushi looked up only to see Arnav offering her his other arm.

Arnav gave her a smile, "Bolo Khushi! Tum toh hum sabki Khushi ho! Tumhein kya main akela chod sakta hoon?" Only Khushi could understand the double meaning behind his words as she stiffened but she could not say anything without revealing their past so she calmed down and hooked her hand around Arnav's arm and all five walked towards the people in front of them.

Geet pouted as she got down the stairs. Why wasn't anybody waiting for her? Wait! Scratch that! Why wasn't Maan waiting for her? She huffed when suddenly she noticed Maan coming towards the stairs with eyes on his mobile. Geet grinned and was about skip the stairs down to go to him when she remembered her plan. Jealousy!!!! She blanked her face and holding her head high she walked down the stairs not giving Maan a single glance. Just as she got down, Maan neared her and looked up only to see Geet ignore him and walk away. Maan was confused. Har waqt toh mere aaju baaju titli ki tarah fudakti rehti hai? Abhi ise kya hogaya? Geet walked ahead only to come across a smiling NK. "GM!", she squealed as she neared him.

Maan narrowed his eyes as he noticed Geet hug NK and Nk offering her his arm. Maan gritted his teeth and clenched his hands as Geet took the offer with smile on her face and walked away. Maan looked away. Main kyun react kar raha hoon? Mujhe kya farak padta hai woh kisike saath bhi jaaye! I don't care! Maan stormed away from there.

Soon the party started in the full swing as guests drank whiskeys, vodkas and wines while champagne bottles were opened and the new couples were toasted. After the introduction of the new daughter-in-laws of Raizada family, the guests started mingling along the party. The band started playing all famous bollywood songs and many couples joined on the dance floor to dance and enjoy. The singers sang the songs and even accepted song requests as the lights dimmed and disco lights were brought out. Maan, Arnav, Aakash, Dev and Shyam stood by the side watching the party and dance going on. Anjali and NT stood nearby with Gupta sisters discussing the wedding preparations. Suddenly, another song started and right in front of them NK asked Geet to dance and Geet agreed.

Maan looked with widening eyes as Geet was spun around by NK. He spun her out and spun her in and dipped her down and pulled her up. Maan was glaring so strongly at the dancing couple that Arnav who was observing his reaction chuckled silently. Then suddenly he was reminded of their plan and he looked at Lavanya. Oh right! I was supposed to make Khushi jealous! Just as he started walking towards the gaggle of girls the song ended and another started.

As the music started Arnav asked Lavanya for dance while flirting with her and Lavanya happily joined him on the dance floor. Maan glared at Geet and NK dancing the second song and finally could not bear. He stormed over to them just as the light dimmed and people could see only their partners' faces. Maan tapped on NK's shoulder and when he turned, Maan spoke to him but his eyes remained on Geet, "May I cut in?" NK gave him a bright smile, "Oh sure why not!"

The moment NK left the dance floor, Maan grabbed Geet's hand and pulled her close. She slammed into his chest and squeaked, shocked at his sudden movement. The music of flute wafted through the air as Maan grabbed Geet around her waist and pulled her close. Geet's breath hitched seeing and feeling Maan so close. A girl's voice crooned in the background.

Geet stared into Maan's eyes as Maan swayed them to the music.

Ghadiyaan Humko Mili

Makhmali Pyaar Ki

Her heart thumped in her chest as the song unknowingly poured out her feelings.

Iss Ek Pal Ko Jee Lein Zara

Geet was jerked from her thoughts as Maan spun her out and pulled her back. She slammed right into his chest.

They continued to dance as Maan held her possessively in his arms.

Geet closed her eyes wanting the time to stop and let her be in Maan's arms forever.

Geet opened her eyes as Maan dipped her down and pulled her up.

Maan twirled her around.

And pulled her in.

He spun her out again.

And lifted her in his arms as while twirling around as the song continued.

As Maan brought her back on the ground, the band started playing flute as they stared into each others' eyes. Both got lost in their eyes as old memories swirled around their head. Maan remembered their first meet while Geet remembered the first time they crashed into each other. Lost into each other, they swayed to the music.

Geet spoke softly, "Jalan ho rahi thi na aapko?"

Maan looked at her in annoyance and Geet smirked.

"Mujhe pata hai! Aapko jalan ho rahi thi kyunki main GM ke baahon mein thi!", Geet spoke.

"Geet!", Maan hissed through his teeth.

Geet lifted her head high and whispered seductively, "Haan! Geet! Yahi naam hai mera! Phir se ek baar mera naam leejiye! Aapke labon se phir se sunne ko dil chaahta hai!"

Maan pulled away from her and was about to walk off when she caught his hand.

When he turned he saw vulnerability in her eyes.

Her pleading eyes pulled him back towards her.

As they danced, Maan for once allowed himself to get lost into her, to forget his inhibitions and his fear and just let his heart take the lead for once.

As Geet danced with Maan she finally felt at peace with herself. She, for the first time, was feeling content and happy and allowed herself to forget that Maan had rejected her, and imagined that he accepted her wholeheartedly. She just allowed herself to get lost into the dance.

The song ended but Maan and Geet remained in their arms, forgetting the world and just being content in each others' arms.

But maybe this idea will work better in rom com version of DFL just saying

Aww seeing her so vulnerable like that is heart breaking

Ahhh he gave her this moment am glad man

Finally he is letting go of it all and is embracing his love once again am glad that he did this

Not only for her but for himself too

Come on he has been keeping all this inside himself he too needs to let go naa and he did

Where else can she find peace but in his arms which are her home

Aww if only he would accept her again but that too will happen soon it just has to man

Awww that was so beautiful they are at peace with one another as we all knew am glad that this dance happened

But lets just hope no one saw them though

That will be just not good

So next time its arhi time right

Lets see how their dance went
