Hello Friends Today is Guru Purnima
it is also known as Vyas Purnima
The full moon day in the Hindu month of Ashad (July-August) is observed as the auspicious day of Guru Purnima, a day sacred to the memory of the great sage Vyasa. Vyasa was the sage who compiled the four Vedas, 18 Puranas, the Mahabharata and the Srimad Bhagvad.

this festival has great importance for Indian academics and scholars. Indian academics celebrate this day by thanking their teachers as well as remembering past teachers and scholars.

One of the most important person who has a hand in shaping our lives after our parents is our teacher. Our teacher or Guru is the person who leads us from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. Hence, they play a major role in shaping us the way we are. Guru Purnima is a day in Hindu calendar which is dedicated to our spiritual and academic teachers. In Hinduism, Guru or a teacher is equated with God. A true Guru is a link between the individual and the Supreme Power. That is why the Guru puja is performed in respect of the teacher on the day of Guru Purnima.

Guru Purnima is the day to thank your teacher for leading you to education and a better life.
So, take time on this Guru Purnima to thank your teacher for all that he/she has done for you.

Guru Purnima is an Indian festival dedicated to spiritual and academic teachers !

This festival traditionally celebrated by students to thank their teachers. It is marked by ritualistic respect to the Guru, Guru Puja. The Guru Principle is a thousand times more active on the day of Gurupournima than on any other day !

It falls on the day of full moon, Purnima, in the month of Ashadh (June-July) !

In addition to having religious importance, this festival has great importance for Indian academics and scholars. Indian academics celebrate this day by thanking their teachers as well as remembering past teachers and scholars.

Many Hindus celebrate the day in honor of the great sage Vyasa, who is seen as one of the greatest gurus in ancient Hindu traditions and a symbol of the Guru-shishya tradition. Vyasa was not only believed to have been born on this day, but also to have started writing the Brahma Sutras on ashadha sudha padyami, which ends on this day.

Hindu ascetics and wandering monks (sanyasis), observe this day by offering puja to the Guru, during the Chaturmas, a four-month period during the rainy season, when they choose seclusion and stay at one chosen place; some also give discourses to the local public.[9] Students of Indian classical music, which also follows the Guru shishya parampara, celebrate this holy festival around the world.
