Why Karan Grover quit Saarthi
When we asked Karan about the reason behind his decision, he explained, "Since I also feature in Meri Awaaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni as the lead, I had no time left for Saarthi...
...Due to this, I used to work in the nights. I had given a two month prior notice to the production house and had requested them to show me as dead or replace me. Since they agreed to the former, there is no bad blood between me and production house."
On Meri Awaaz…, where he plays the character of Raj, he says, "I love this serial and my character a lot since it is very real. He wears trendy clothes and is a bit manipulative. In Saarthi, I was very sensitive and a good husband. But, as an actor, I became saturated after doing 500 episodes of the show and wanted to do something new which I got in Meri Awaaz... I am totally concentrating on it now".
He also expressed his gratitude towards the other members of the show. "They were so co-operative and agreed to work in the night. But we were able to shoot half of the amount of what we used to shoot earlier. One can adjust for a day, a week or a month but not much after that. Also I wanted to give my best to Meri Awaaz…, so I decided to quit".
His co-actor Jalak Thakkar said, "It was actually fun to work in the nights and sleep in the day. We used to have a blast on the sets cracking jokes. There was no uneasiness as I consider the Saarthi crew members as my family. I had to adjust but it is a part and parcel of my profession."
However the producer of the show Aatish Modi had a different take. "It was hard working late nights. We were doing this kind of adjustment for 2-3 months and it was irritating but we had to adjust with the actor's timings. Personally, even I was getting frustrated but couldn't do much," says the producer candidly.
Speaking about Karan's role, he said, "His track is not over, his death was in the script as apart of the twist in the track. But if he is required again then we will rope him in."
