I was pretty pleased with Mansi's character (not that I condone Varad's affair in any way). We don't have another character quite like her in the show, so she's a pleasure to watch (at least for the time-being).

What do we know about her so far? She's most likely an educated woman, living in her own residence, and fully independent. From the little we saw of Varad and Mansi's interaction, it's clear that there's a closeness there that goes beyond physical attraction. She gives a gift to Varad because she wants to, not because she wants something in return. She seems caring and selfless in her love for Varad.

We also can see that Mansi is the type of woman who Niranjan would NEVER, EVER approve of to be his bahu. She's a modern, career-oriented, pants-wearing woman who would not enjoy living her life at the feet of men in the Agnihotri household.

I hesitate to compare Sojal and Mansi because it seems morally problematic. Sojal is Varad's wife, marriage is a bond of trust between two individuals and I sincerely believe Varad should have sought a separation from Sojal before moving forward with Mansi. That being said, Mansi and Sojal are very different individuals, perhaps a direct result of their respective upbringings.

Sojal grew up in a middle-class, money- and status-obsessed family. She was perhaps taught directly and indirectly that money and status will bring you happiness, which is why Sojal often pressures Varad to buy her things and equates love with material things. She tries to gain Ayee's favor as much as she can and obeys orders readily because she wants others to accept her and favor her. In other words, she's the perfect type of bahu in Niranjan's eyes, which is most likely why NA convinced Varad to have this arranged marriage with Sojal.

From what we've seen of Mansi, she's most likely from a liberal, educated, possibly upper class family. She clearly has a very different world view than Sojal (not a better one imo, Just a different one).

That being said, it's very clear to viewers that Mansi is Varad's sense of comfort and they are very compatible, infinitely more so than Varad and Sojal.

I'm very interested to see where this all goes, especially since divorce and the ensuing implosion may not bode well for our dear Baba.

i too like this mansi. a very realistic twist in the story of varad-sojal unhappy marriage. i'm tired of jaya/renuka type new entries all the time. she seems like a nice woman with pleasant disposition, unlike sojal. she is independent and she probably loves varad without any expectations, which he craves. but marriage is different from a no-strings attached relationship. that too if the woman has to live with the in-laws and cater to their demands 24/7, its not easy to keep a cool head all the time and keep giving without expecting anything. mansi enjoys the freedom that sojal doesn't. i think, any girl who enters into marriage would care for love and acceptance more than material things. material things become more important only when she is unhappy with her life in general and tries to stay happy somehow. jaya's constant misguidance is not helping sojal.
going by their conversation, both mansi and varad were feeling lonely when they met two years ago. so to escape this loneliness, they started this no-strings attached relationship. deriving from the various articles published about this new character, mansi knows about varad's marital status and knows about his kid! she encourages him to spend more time with his family! all these good intentions are alright but if she feels the need to hide their relationship from sojal, kavya and the whole world, then she is not doing something right. varad's wife and kid deserve truth, if not happiness. i have a problem with liars! she is definitely not doing any favor to sojal and kavya by sending their husband/father to them as soon as she is done with him. she does expect to spend time with him. she made him come to her with a prank call today. so she has expectations similar to those of sojal and kavya. mansi may not be the regular vamp of the soaps(i'm glad that she is not), but she is selfish, for putting her own happiness above others(sojal and kavya).

On the whole mansi may look like a nice person...but encouraging a married man to extra affairs n spending whole night with him then preaching him to be nice with sojal n kavya..n spend time with them???I don't know..how its possible??
There is some selfishness laced with all these ' selfless' nature...hope they won't show mansi had some deadly disease at the time when she met varad n needed someone shoulder for support... So their friendship changed into something like this later...

Mansi might be beautiful, educated , independent , articulated and accomplished with so many good qualities, still I can not tolerate this type of girl who would be dictating one married couple's life and enjoying the intimacy of the man behind his wife and children.

If it was a just friendship , with no hide and seek, I would have accepted VARAD/ MANSI - relationship gladly.

Neither Mansi nor VARAD is not doing justice to Sojal and Kabya.

No woman can share their husband to other woman. I feel sorry for Sojal and Kabya.

VARAD should have gone for either divorce or tried to change Sojal with affection and care rather than indifference or criticism.

NA is abusing Geetanjali physically and Varad is torturing Sojal emotionally - both are equally bad.

I agree. Although I don't condone extramartial affair in any way, I can't deny the fact that I actually do like Mansi as a person.

I know its wrong on varads part because he is married but if anyone had a greedy ,noisey and gossipy wife like sojal they would have killed thereselves or he by now. So i like mansi because she is alot like aastha genuine and caring and a good support for varad which he needs. No one in the family parents/wife apart from kavya gives him much immportance so its obvious he has found comfort and a shoulder to lean on in mansi. I hate to say this but varad , mansi hug yesterday seems more genuine than ashloks atm . Shlok and aastha's romantic scenes seems so fake these days the hugs dont look real and really effectionate at all so vansi is a pleasant change. i like them.

I think some of you may have misunderstood what I was trying to say. My fault - I should have clarified.
I absolutely do NOT condone Varad's affair and I do not like the fact that Mansi thinks it's okay to carry on with a married man. I was simply trying to point out some important differences between the two relationships and Sojal and Mansi as characters.

I briefly mentioned Mansi's modern world view. Apparently this view accepts carrying on with romantic relationship with a married man if he is compatible with you. That's WRONG and that's why I don't think Mansi is "better" than Sojal; she's just different.

I can't stop feeling bad for Sojal. The July 11th episode has also tried pretty hard to demonize her. I'm worried that the CVs are not going to let it end well for Sojal :(
