First Look: Anushka Sharma in a 35 kg costume for Bombay Velvet

Here is Anushka Sharma in her 'Bombay Velvet' look donning a Niharika Bhasin Khan creation, which weighs a good 35 kgs. Apparently, this is for Anushka's opening song in the period drama.

The scene is from a club and Anushka is behind a mic. Anushka's designer Niharika mentioned that it took more than a couple of hours for the actress to get ready for the scene. Apparently, Anushka was assigned two assistants to especially carry her dress train.

Bombay Velvet is directed and co-produced by Anurag Kashyap. It is the story of the rise of an ordinary man Johnny Balraj, played by Ranbir Kapoor and how the city of Bombay became a metropolis against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and jazz music.

The romantic thriller has Rosie as Jonhny's love interest, played by Anushka Sharma, an aspiring jazz singer. Karan Johar plays a malicious villain with towering aspirations. The film is scheduled for release on 28 November.
