Ishita and lawyer

Why do you all think Ishita did not do right by calling a lawyer? When the suspicion was on Parmeet, Raman said he would handle and hence Ishita trusted him in bringing the culprit to justice. But now the situation is different. Instead of bringing the culprit to justice, Raman is in fact helping him/her. Hence, Ishita took it up into her own hands to bring down the culprit in which I don't see anything wrong. Her first priority is her mother rather than her step son who dislikes her.
