Proposition
"No."
"No?"
"You heard me."
"Are you telling me, Mr. Shekhawat, that you are declining my proposition?"
"Yes."
"And why, may I know that?"
"Because you are what you are."
"Indeed. And may I know, what I am?"
"A scheming and manipulative woman."
"Ah, that is correct. But you are passing up an offer to destroy Sanyukta Agarwal, just because I'm a scheming and manipulative woman?"
"..."
"I'll take that as a 'yes', Mr. Shekhawat, but I'm still not satisfied. You have done so much to publicly humiliate Sanyukta Agarwal, in fact, more than I'd ever have done alone, made so many attempts to shut down her company too, and yet you refuse my offer of working together to annihilate her, simply because I'm a bitch?"
"I did not call you a bitch."
"Oh, but you meant it. Do not take me for a fool, Mr. Shekhawat. I am the owner of the company second only to your own, after all. I've worked hard to get it to where it is now. And believe me, it's my scheming and manipulation skills that have come in handy. So do not doubt me and my powers, Mr. Shekhawat. I can help you destroy Sanyukta Agarwal so much easily than you will be able to alone."
"My answer is still a 'no'."
"Oh really? I wonder if the rumour about you and Sanyukta Agarwal hooking up is true, after all?"
"There is no such rumour."
"Oh? But there might just be."
"Would you dare to do such a thing, Miss Kumar?"
She raised an eyebrow.
"My proposition still stands, Mr. Shekhawat. I'd rather you think about it carefully."
"Miss Kumar, you're-"
"Mrs. Kumar hyphen Kashyap, Mr. Shekhawat. The sooner you get used to it, the better. I'm getting married next month."
And with that, she walked out of the office, chin up and smirk on. The sound of her heels clacking still seemed to echo in his ears long after she was gone.
