Ok In this discussion I will talk about Kannuj(Sayogita) Prithviraj everything got to do with them two! My little talks will be in read:P:P
The Eastern Ganges Plain did not experience the disruption of the Punjab, despite Mahmud's attack on Kanuj. Kannuj was soon restored and became on more the prize and account of this suffered continual attacks from various states – the chalukyas, and last the Gahdavalas who clamied Rajput Status. (then it talks about other states..which we do not need to know about;))
The Rajput clans fought each other unceasingly in the eleventh and twelfth centuries. The possessions of kingdoms was a pre-carious business and the competition of the territory a perpetual activity. War Became a part of the general chivalric code. The paramaras concentrated their strength in Malwa. The Solankis remained in gujrat centred round kathiwar. The Chandellas busied themselves in campaigns against the paramaras and the Kalachuris. They were attacked by the Chauhans in the twelfth century. The Guhilas were dominant in Mewar and the region around modern udaipur. The Kachchhapaghatas, (WhhHOwW LONG NAME!:O) yet another clan, ruled over Gwalior and the surrounding districts.
The Power of the Chauhans, who has occupied the tomara severe, reverses on occasion. the last of the Chauhan kings, Prithviraja 111, has become a romantic hero owing to the manner in which he wooed and won the daughter of the king of Kannuj – (Sanyogita or Sanjogita) A long epic poem, Prithvirajraso, composed by the bard Chand Bardai, narrates the incidents of the Lochinvar story. The Daughter of the king of Kannuj was to marry and as was customary among princesses a svayamvara was held, where the eligible suitors were assembled at her father's court and she was expected to choose her husband from amongst them. But she had set her heart on the gallant Prithviraja, who unfortunately was the enemy of her father. The king of kannuj, in order to insult prithviraja, had not only failed to invite him to the svayamvara but had placed a statue of prithviraja in the position of a doorkeeper in his court. To the bewilderment of those present, the princess of kannuj rejected the princes assembled and instead placed a garland, indicating her choice, around the statue's neck. Before the courtries realized what had happened, prithviraja, who had been hiding in the vicinity, rode away with the princess and took her to his kingdom, where they married. But they did not live happily ever after. Their happiness was marred by the second invasion from the north-west – that of Muhammad Ghuri (arghh…y does he have to come in:@) –for prithviraja was defated in the battle and killed (saddd)
After Ghori killed Prithvi..he took over..ajmer and delhi..and also parts in punjab.

MORE INFO 4RM A DIFFERENT SECTION OF THIS BOOK -
More Important kings surpassed themselves in inventing titles. Prithviraja 111, who aspired to rule the whole of northern India, called himself "Bharteshvara" "the lord of Bharat" i.e India. A twelfth Century ruler of Kanuj (that means PRC RULED KANUJ ASWEL:o:o wHoO) described himself as "the most exalted-the great kings of kings – the supreme lord –the king over horse, elephants, and men – the sovereign of the tree worlds…."

I wont type any more future..as this book is too fat! And is full of history of India..
But I will sumarise more bits…
Chittor is mentioned..and rajput forts were present there..(so prc..had good relationships with chittor..remba samar singh is from there) Ujaain is mentioned but I was not to keen on that..and basically the rest of Indian history..
Moving on to the next book!
The Threatened area's rajput rulers, who had forgotten all thoughts of Moslem danger after mahmud of ghazni died, gradually came alive to their peril. Although they were less accustomed to repelling invaders than to fighting among themselves- often magnifying minor bickering into excuses for major campaigns against one another excuses for major campaigns against one another – the rajputs now organized a confedaeracy under a great hero – Prithvi raja, and set forth to stop Mohammed ghru at Tarain, North of delhi (hmmmmmmmm….)
This book did not have much information on Prithvi but it mainly focused on the mughals and ujjain(I guess ujjain was really important hmm..)
