When would Hollywood start remaking Indian movies

Hollywood Did remake many numbers of Korean,Thai movies.Those movies get success and people do forget about original

My sassy girl

Many must have seen shutter or The Ring.But is actualy remake of Thai and japanese movie

List of some successful Hollywood movies


The Hunger Games(2012)-Battle royal(2000,Japanese..I have seen both but they dont give credit to it.Even much before the Novel which was published in 2008 with same name)


Godzila-Gojira(Japanese)

Hachiko-Hachiko Monogatari (Japanese0

The Ring- ring(Japan)

The Guardian-Umizaru(Japanese)

Dark water-Dark water(Japanese)

The Uninvited-A tale of two sisters(Korean)

Mirrors-Into the Mirrors(Korean)

Old Boy-Old boy(Korean)

Possession-Addicted(Korean)

Bangkok Dangerous-Bangkok dangerous(Thai)

2.My sassy Girl-My sassy Girl(Korea,For me Original was much better but remake one is also good)

3.The Lake House-II mare(Korea,Didnt see the Hollywood one but Liked Korean one)

4.The Departed-Hong Kong movie Internal Affair()

5.One missed call-Ringtone of death(Japanese)

6.Pulse-Pulse(Japanese)

7.Shall we dance-Shall we dance(Japanese)

8.Shutter-Shutter(Thai)

9.The Eye-The eye(Taiwanese)

10.Star wars(1977)-It is actually a copy of Japanese movie many scenes ripped off from The Hidden fortress

11.The Echo-Sigaw(Filipino)

Hollywood is going to remake many more South korean hit movies

May be Hollywood did reamke of Indian movies which I dont know.
I heard Ek Villian is inspired from I saw Devil of Korea

Yes I do know that the book is published in 2008 and the Japanese movie came in 2000

Collins (the author) got inspiration from greek myths of Thesuas and Minotaurs and also competitive reality show for the Hunger Games ,she said so herself and most of the movies you mention do give credit to the original

Almost all the movies mentioned above are legal remake.The did buy the rights.Hunger games is different issue

Battle Royale and HG have similar concept but aren't the same, BR is more of survival but HG is defying the anarchy and plus the sequels shows that it is more than just the game,much more

I agree it is not completely same I have seen both.Hollywood one is much better one I would say

Korean movies are EPIC !!!! From comedy to mystery genres..The Koreans know how to create an amazing story (same for TV shows)

so comparing bollywood movies with korean movies..is like comparing bananas with apples 😆

first bollywood needs to stop remaking south movies and begin to think of some original stories
