Present

Kalpi was busy writing some recipes in her book, while doing so she accidentally walk in the street forgetting to wait for the light to change, while walking a car that was being chased by the police was heading towards her. Everyone was yelling for her to move out the way but it was too late. Before you knew it, she went flying and so did her recipes book. Raghav who was busy on the phone saw what happened; he quickly got out of his car and calls an ambulance. He went to her side saying "are you ok?" when she didn't reply he says "don't close your eyes paramedics are coming."

When they arrive they told Raghav to get in the car since he saw what happened and call them. Raghav looks at the girl, she was bleeding all over, and her eyes kept dropping every two second. When he tried to remove his hand from hers she wouldn't let go. She kept staring at him with tears. Signing he puts his hand on his forehead getting a headache.

When they reached the hospital, the doctor took kalpi to the emergency room while the nurse told Raghav to sign the paper; once he did he decides to wait then leaves. About five hours the doctor came out, by that time someone had called her family.

"How is she doctor?" says her mother

"She's ok, but she's in a coma. We don't know when she will wake up." He says making kamla cry in vitthal arms.

Raghav hearing the news decides to leave because it wasn't his business. When the family turns around to thank him he was gone. Meanwhile kalpi was on a machine, the cords were all around her. In her mind everything was dark; suddenly she started seeing clips of herself, not her current self but her past self.

"What is this?" she says

"This is your past self kalpi." Her younger self said

"Past self?"

"Yes, he has been waiting for a long time, now its time for you to remember kalpi." She says before disappearing and the white light consuming her.

Past

In the year 1800s there was a kind king name vitthal Jadhav, he ruled Kohna and conquered many lands. Everyone always laugh when they mention the small village Kohna. But when vitthal Jadhav concurred their land they become silent. In another land there was a strong king his name was Singhania. Mr. Singhania was a very strong man; no one dared to challenge him because he was a savage warrior in the battle field.

One day an unknown king reveal himself, he was king kapoor. a wicked man, He pretended to be Mr. Singhania friend and when he wasn't looking he stab him in the back. His son the next king named Raghav Singhania saw everything that happened, when the guards saw him they chased after him. He ran as fast as his legs could get him. When he reached a cliff the guards were ready to kill him but they missed ending up hurting him and him falling of the cliff. He screamed and fell inside the deep water. When the guards reached the castle they inform the new king that the boy died. This made him happy, the boys' mother managed to escape but unfortunately she lost her memories. No one has seen or heard of her.

The Kapoor were friends with king Jadhav. They would come to each others house and talk, some time the two mans would spare. The wives would talk with the other ladies in the kingdom, gossiping about things. They mostly gossip about kamla who was a servant but now a

queen. Both ladies were pregnant. One day while coming over king Jadhav house queen Neetu and queen kamla gave went in labor. They were each taken to different rooms. When the kings found out they rushed to their wive. The servants made sure they couldn't step in the room. Neetu was the first one to give birth. She had a beautiful baby girl name Pakhi, while kamla had troubles giving birth. They told her to push until finally the baby was out. She named the baby kalpana Vitthal Jadhav; she was a beautiful baby girl. When she opens her eyes kamla was amazed, her eyes were so beautiful and her lashes and lips were perfect. Just when the servant was about to call the king kamla stops her.

"Wait." She says

"Something is not right with her." She says

The priest came and took a look at the baby and she sadly says "my lady, your daughter is blind." She says shocking kamla

"No, no this can not be. I can't have a blind child, what would people say, they would laugh at me" she says

"Then what should we do, my lady?" Says the priest

"We'll have to give her up." She says

"But my lady, what about the king, what would he say when he sees no child." She says

"We'll tell him that the baby died." She says shocking the priest.

She told one of the servant to look for a dead baby fast and get back to her. Than she told the priest to use the back way to escape with the child and for her to never return here. Once she left the servant came back with a dead baby. There the queen told her to call the king. When the king arrives kamla looks up at him with tears. She says "look vitthal, our daughter she's dead." She says

The king was devastated; he looks at the baby and cries. Than he said "this baby would have been our little princess." He says

"I'm sorry I failed you." She says making vitthal shake his head

"No it's ok, how will we break it to pakiya. He was so excited to have a sister." He says

"We could always adopt a child." She says making vitthal shake his head.

Mr. Kapoor walks in the room and show them their beautiful baby girl. Kamla looking at the child and felt attached to it. She asks the king if she could hold his daughter, when he agrees she held the baby in her hand making the baby smile at her. When the king decides to take the baby back, the baby wouldn't let go of kamla.

"Seems like my baby has taken a liking to you" Says Mr.kapoor

Neetu came in the room tired and tried to hold her daughter but when she did, her daughter screams. This made her confuse.

When kamla offers to hold her the baby stayed quiet she smiles and giggles making Neetu jealous. Ahil seeing this came up with a plan.

"I got a solution to this problem." Says sahil

"Why don't kamla come and see Pakhi every week, that way we're all happy." He says

"That's a great idea." Says kamla

"I don't know." Says vitthal

"It won't be for long, vitthal." Says Neetu convincing vitthal to agree not knowing how wrong she was.

Five years later a little girl about 10 was walking in the market, she was in a hurry because today she was going to her first job. She was a smart girl for her age and beautiful too, she could sense where she was going and also hear their foot step. When people see her walking they don't see a blind girl, instead they see a beautiful normal girl.

She didn't have a stick to show her the way; she uses her five senses to find her direction. And her ears were very sharp.

When she reached the place she went to the small area where they were selling bread.

"She's here." says the owner

"I'm sorry I'm late sir, please forgive me." She says

"No kalpi you're not late, matter fact you came early." He says

"Come we're opening now." He says

Kalpi set up the signs and help make fresh bread then she started selling it to people. Meanwhile, paki came to the market with her mom and kamla ma. She was excited because she gets to buy a saree of her choice and finally leave the castle. They search for places to look at. When she finally found one she run towards it.

"Be careful paki, you might hurt yourself." Says Neetu

"I hate coming to these places." Says kamla

"Well we won't have to be here for long" says Neetu making kamla agrees with her

A young boy by the age of 14 was running holding the carriage with rich people in there; he was dodging and running fast trying to reach his destination. When he reached, the people came down and paid him complimenting him on getting them their on time. He thanks them and started walking away. His stomach growled and he searched for food. His long hair in a ponytail was swaying while he was walking. When he found the food place, he saw a young girl selling bread. He was surprise by her beauty, he watches as she smiles while dancing, and getting people attention to buy the bread.

When some people ignore her, he thought of a plan to get the bread, since she was busy.

He walks in the circle and stands next to her, making kalpi look at him confusingly, than he took a wooden sword and started dancing with it. Everyone claps and cheer. Kalpi was just standing there, still shock. While doing his sword dance he came to kalpi and whispers something in her ears.

"This is your chance to sell them your bread." He says snapping her from her mind.

"Ah yes, thank you." She says selling breads to the people. While she was doing that Raghav took three breads and puts it in his bag, then he starts walking away. Kalpi turns around to thank him but he was no where in sight. She picks up her other basket to sell when she felt the weight was different. She touched her breads and realizes three was missing. Putting her bread down she grab the wooden sword that he had and ran after him.

How dare he still from me. She thought, while running she remembers his walk. When she spotted him, she yells at him to come back.

Raghav turns around and saw the girl with the wooden sword. He saw her coming straight towards him and ran. He ran until he bumps into someone. When he turns around he saw her falling. Quickly he grabs her and held her from falling on the ground. Pakhi looks at the boy and blushes. "Thank you for saving me" she says

"No problem." He says quickly letting her go.

He turns around and saw the bread girl swinging the wooden sword at him; quickly he dodged it, by flipping over.

Kamla and Neetu reached paki worriedly, they both ask her if she was alright, and she nods her head. Then kamla looks at the two kids who were bickering. She was disgust, first the girl had two braids on her hair and was wearing guy pants instead of saree than she looks at the boy, and he was older than the girl. His hair was tied back and he was wearing beggar clothes. Look at these savagely wild creatures. How dare they walk around here? She thought?

"Those two should be punished." Says Neetu

She was about to give them a piece of her mind when paki grabs her hand.

"Leave them be mother, they are just having fun." She says making Neetu calm down

"Let's go from here, I guess there's no need to buy anything here, after all this place is contaminated with filth. "Says kamla

When they left, kalpi was still lecturing Raghav. "How dare you steal from me." She says pulling his ears. Raghav screams and says "I never steal, it's against my honor." He says

"Then why are three bread missing?" she says

"I took them." He says not finishing his sentence

"I knew it, you thief I should report you to the guards." She says

"Wait a minute wait a minute." He says "I didn't steal anything, I brought them from you." He says

"Yeah right, you think I'm an idiot." She says "I would know if you bought it from me."

"I'm serious I left the money on your counter." He says

"Fine then come with me." She says

She grabs his hand and pulls him; Raghav on the other hand was rubbing his ears. For a girl so small she sure has strength he thought when they reached the store, he points at the counter and she went and touched the money, then she touched a note. She puts her hand around it trying to read it when Raghav came to her

"Are you ok?" he asks

"Yeah why wouldn't I be?" she says still trying to read the notes, Raghav saw this and looks at her eyes.

"Are you perhaps blind?" he says making her nod her head

"Really, the way you were acting earlier didn't seem like it." he says making kalpi get frustrated

"My uncle taught me to read people moves and steps and I can hear and smell really well." She says

"Ok since you can't read I'll just read it to you." He says kalpi was about to protest when he grabs the letter and reads it to her. Once he was done she bows and apologizes

"Please forgive me." She says making Raghav pats her head

"Its ok, anyway I have to go. See yah" he says

"Ok bye." She says while smiling

When her back was towards him Raghav turns around and watches her close the shop, the owner helping her. He smiles to himself and thought a blind girl that can sense direction and use a wooden sword to hit people, she definitely something. He thought I guess this place is not so bad he says before going to meet his uncle and aunt.

Chapter 2 Chapter 3

Raghav came home; as soon as he did his uncle greeted him.

"Raghav your back, how was your first day of work?" he asks

"It was ok" he says

"That's good; I hope you can get use to this town. Its very peaceful." He says

Raghav was about to say something when he's nephews ran to him, asking if he brought any food for them. "Of course I did, see" he says showing the three breads. They cheered and followed Raghav to the table; there he split one bread into threes for them to eat. He walks to his aunt and bends down touching her leg. When she looks straight trying to touch his face, Raghav seeing this helps her by taking her hand and putting it on his face.

"Mere bacce Raghav. How was work, did something happened to you? Are you ok?" she asks worried

"No aunty, work was fine. They loved my service." He says

"That's good priya." She says holding his hand now

"I brought you some bread, aunty. It is very sweet." He says handing her the bread.

"Thank you Raghav." She says before eating it. Then she says "I haven't eaten this bread in a long time."

"You like it aunty?" he says making her nod her head "since you like it so much I will bring some everyday." He says

Elsewhere, kalpi reaches the temple and went straight to the priest to tell him she was back.

"Ah kalpi, you're back again." He says

"Yes sir, I just stop by to say hi before heading home." She says

"Ok then, don't forget tomorrow to perform the dance for the gods." He says

"I would never forget sir, I worship them so much and you too." She says

Making the priest sad a little, I'm sorry you had to live this life kalpana. You would have made a difference in your father's kingdom. He thought

"Well its getting late you should be getting home." He says she was about to leave when he says "here, you forgot your stick again. Kareem found it near the training area and gave it to me." He says "is there something you should tell me kalpi?" he asks with one eyebrow up

Kalpi nervously laughs "well sir, since I couldn't train with the boys I was watching them and training near the area. I didn't brake no rule sir." She says quickly

"Its ok kalpi, I understand you want to learn to fight but, it's dangerous in your condition. You can easily get killed." He says

"But sir, I made a lot of progress. You know that I can feel their movement and read their next moves. Also I have good ears I can pick up where their coming from next." She says

"That's not enough kalpi; those talents will be your down fall." He says

"I will be careful sir" she says sadly

"Please do" he says before going back to pray

Kalpi walks to her small house which was next to the temple. Since girls weren't allowed to live in the temple, priests decides to build a small house for her and he would come and visit her time to time. The truth is priest raised kalpi since she was born; she never knew her parents or even decides to ask him about it because she was content with her life. Kalpi changed out of her clothes and puts her training clothes on, then she went to the back and trained, doing some high kicks, sensing the bird's movement and using her hands to balance her feet.

Meanwhile, kamla, Pakhi and Neetu went back to the castle. They were happy to finally be away from that market.

"Pooki, I'm sorry your day was ruined." She says

"it wasn't ruined mother, I had fun."

"Fun?" she asks

"Yeah it was good to see other kids my age for once." She says

Vitthal walks in with sahil. They were discussing war strategies and allies they could join forces with; when they saw paki they both smile.

"Did you enjoy the market dear?" says sahil

"Yes pita. It was fun." She says before going to her room

As soon as she was in her room, she fell on her bed and remembered Raghav saving her from falling. She smiles to herself and says "I don't know who he is, but I hope I meet him again." She says

The next day Raghav went to work; he was to deliver someone to the king.

"How fast can you run, boy? I'm in a hurry" he says to Raghav

"Fast as you want sir." He says putting the wagon down and letting the guy get on. As soon as he was on Raghav ran like a horse. He was so fast that the guy had a hard time wiping the tears from his eyes. About 20 minute later they were here.

Raghav puts the wagon down sweating, the guy calming down, Comes down feeling dizzy. Raghav steadies him and waited for his pay, when he didn't get it he stops the guy from leaving.

"Excuse me sir, you forgot to pay me." He says

"I didn't forget anything, the service was terrible." He says about to leave when Raghav stops him again " sir I haven't done anything wrong, you asked for a fast service and I got you here in 20 minutes." He says

"Yes you did, but you made me dizzy and sweat for that I will not pay you." He says about to leave once more when Raghav came in front of him again.

"Sir you cant do this, I did what you ask and I got the task done, I need this money." He says

"Leave me at once, you peasant. The sight of you disgust me." He says

"if I am disgusting like you said then why get help from a peasant when you could ride your own carriage. You might fool people by wearing royal clothes but you are very cheap so is your personality." He says making the guy angry.

"YOU INSOLENT BOY, I WILL NOT SPARE YOU." He says about to slap him when Raghav held his hand strongly while glaring at him

Pakhi hearing people scream woke up. She went to her balcony and saw the same boy from yesterday. She smiles she quickly went to her closet and get ready so she could meet him.

Meanwhile, King William was scared when he looks into Raghav eyes he could see a man that he thought was a myth Ares god of war. He blinks some more and thought this boy reminds me so much of the legendary Greek god, the way he stands, his eyes and his posture He thought

"I will not leave until you pay me" he says loudly not seeing the lightning appearing from the sky, William could see the sharpness of his eyes, and his voice. Also he could see a beast that was ready to fight him and win. Scared he was about to give him the money when his friend appear.

"What's the big deal here William?" he says

"This boy demands I pay him for his poor service." He says pretending like he wasn't scared.

"That's all, if he wants money so badly I would be gladly to give him." he says making Raghav look at him.

"No sir, I won't take your money, I will only take his." He says hands still gripping Williams.

Sahil was amused, he could see a true warrior in the boy, his grip and his courage impresses him a lot. He looks at his friend and says "I can't help you there my friend"

William feeling his bones were about to break, quickly takes out his pouch making Raghav let go. He looks at Raghav with his hands out and took the coin out, then he throws it on him. "Pick it up because this will always be your life, as a beggar." He says before turning around to leave.

Pakhi ran down the stairs she was just in time to see her father walking in with a very pale man. He had blond hair that amazes her and rich brown eyes. He turns to look at her and took his hat of bowing while saying "my lady" then he left with his father. She looked at him one last time and ran outside, when she saw her savior still there picking up coins. She walks towards him and bends down to help making Raghav look at her.

"Here you go." she says picking some of the coins and giving it to him. They both got up and Raghav says "thank you for your help. Now excuse me I have to go." he says

Just when he was about to leave when his head started hurting, He puts his hand on his head having a flash back, of himself running and falling off the cliff, hitting his head in the process before falling in the water. Pakhi seeing this quickly went to him asking if he was alright. Making Raghav push her and she falling on the floor. When it was over he looks back at her, her face in shock. He was about to apologize to her when Neetu and kamla walks out. They saw the whole thing how Raghav push paki on the floor.

"Get away from her, you beast." Says Neetu

Kamla went to check if Pakhi was alright, when she saw her hand bleeding she automatically accuse him. "Look what you did." She says showing Pakhi hand

"You wounded her hand." She says

"Wait a second kamla ma-"she says not finishing her words before kamla cuts her off

"Now I know where I've seen you, you're the boy from the market." She says

"Look at his eyes, there so scary. It shows how much of a wild beast he truly is." Says Neetu

"Shoo! Get away from here before I get my guards for hurting my daughter." She says

Pakhi tried to say something but she just staid quiet. She watches as Raghav grabs the handle of his wagon and walks away. When he was completely gone Pakhi got up and says to Neetu "I can't believe you did that" then she ran inside all the way to her room and slams the door. She fell on her bed and cries "because of Neetu, I don't think Raghav will come near me" she says crying

Elsewhere, kalpi went back to her job. As usual they opened the place and made fresh bread. Raghav coming back from the palace decides to take a break. He could smell the fresh sent of bread. Parking his wagon, he walks to the bread place and saw the girl from yesterday selling some more bread. This time she was wearing an orange top, and black pants. Raghav decides to have fun, he walks behind her ready to scare her when she says" I know its you from before, I don't know what your trying to do, but move one step and I'll throw this rock at you." she says

He looks at the rock she was balancing on top of her foot, and then he laughs.

"You're pretty good, for a blind girl." He says

"Well I'm not gonna sit down and let people think I'm vulnerable." She says than she turns around to look up at him.

"By the way my name is not blind girl, its kalpi." She says

"Kalpi" he says testing the name on his mouth

"Well nice to meet you, my name is Raghav." He says taking her hand by surprise and shaking it.

"What are you doing here Raghav?" she asks

"I came to buy some bread; my family loves your sweet bread." He says

"Well since they love it a lot. Why don't I give it to you for free" she says

"I don't want anything free kalpi" he says

"Call it even, for helping me yesterday." She says

Raghav thought about it and was about to reject her offer when she gave him the puppy eyes. He signs and nods his head making her jump happily and hugs him. He blushes and looks away. When kalpi let go she told him to continue his work until she close than they can go to her house. He agrees and went to work. When it the sun was setting kalpi and the owner close the shop. There Raghav waited for her.

"Have fun you two" said her boss

"Bye sir" she says getting on the wagon with Raghav help.

"Lead the way princess" he says jokingly

"Of course my warrior" she says making Raghav smile
