MUMBAI: Right from the song 'Papa Kehte Hai' to 'Radha' Udit Narayan has been one of the most versatile singers in Bollywood for more than two decades. The 58 year old recently sung a song 'Daingad Daingad' for the film 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya' (HSKD) and is all excited about the same.
In a candid conversation with Radioandmusic.com's Dhairya Ingle, Narayan said, "Being in the industry for more than twenty years, it is an honour, that new age music composers still want me. 'Daingad Daingad' is a celebration song and I am extremely delighted to work with Sachin Jigar. The best part about the song is that it is modern and has a folk touch too with a few Punjabi words here and there. The last time I sung for a title that had 'Dulhaniya' in it was for the film 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' which was such a blockbuster and I expect the same from HSKD."
While talking about new age singers depending on technology, he said, "Having technology is always good but if you have a voice which is trained well, and then you add technology to it, this takes a song to a whole new level."
The 'Chand Chupa Badal Mein' singer feels that after being in Bollywood for about 26-30 years, it is good to have a handful of projects. His upcoming projects include songs in a number of films like 'Kill Dil', 'Shuddhi' and many more.
The Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan starrer film HSKD is all set to release on 11 July, 2014.
