I was reading about how BB 8 was supposed to air on LifeOk channel, but now might air on Colors. So I was thinking, what would happen to RR? I know it'll certainly get affected in TRPs just like how it right now because of the World cup.

There is still about two more months before BB8 starts
Anything can happen regarding the TRP
The only thing we can do is be hopeful that we can a time slot change
If not just enjoy the remaining days of RR

Its a six month old show, that is trending very well overseas. The show has one of the top actesses in Indian TV in it, and an actor who is getting exposure left and right, not to mention being featured on their own dance show as a top contestant. The show is being produced by Tewari and written by Hedge-- two of the shining lights of the TV world. AND the show has a one year contract with Colors, out of which as I mentioned, 6 months have passed.

The Colors channel, unlike Star Plus OR Zee has very few "flagship" shows that they can depend on, and in fact they rely on RR and Beintehaan as their freshest and most foreign market friendly offerings. TRPs (as even the Indian Govt acknowledges) is a totally screwed-up, totally out dated way of judging a show's audience in this day and age. I don't think the TRP issue of a young show is that relevant, with the success of RR on the internet, youtube, streaming video and with the international audience following the channel overseas. Its consistently the #1 watched show on Colors in the UK, for example.

The star power of the cast is a factor here, too. Sanaya and Ashish have an incredible fan base now. As we have seen with Vivian Dsena's return on Madhubala (going on 2 years now, having exhausted all possible story lines) the smaller channels like Colors have to listen to the fan following of actors and shows. Not to mention, they haven't even maxed out RR's initial story lines, or exploited potential stage shows/foreign promotional tours to get Colors exposure abroad. Sanaya/Barun did all this with IPKKND for Star Plus, and Sanaya's chemistry with Ashish is a new example of that old show's magic. Colors will want to cash in on Parud fever.

Chill. There will be a change of time slot, with Uttaran or Sasural Simar Ki being ready to wind down/switched to later times--or with Madhubala breathing its last, offering its time slot as well. But cancelling RR, just so Colors can run a few months of Big Boss when RR can be changed to an empty slot and continue to grow, as it promises to?

Nonsense!

Well, if you put it that way...😊 It's not that I was worried, I was more curious. 'Cause I've noticed that whenever BB airs, some shows end up getting sacrificed or they end then do a 2nd season (which I'm not a fan of).

If those shows you mentioned are winding down, getting a different time slot. Then yes... I think it would make the most sense for Colors to move RR to a different time slot and capitalize on (and increase) its Parud fan base. It certainly has the potential to do that .

I love what you have written in your post napes.
One of the main things is that the indian govt. knowing that the TRP system is outdated but don't do jack about it is what really riles me up. I mean how can a country as big as India with a population of around 1 billion people based their tv shows ratings on a mere 8000 homes. That is completely illogical. Ridiculous.
