"Ruhi, love, wake up. My darling has to go to school today right. Wake up, princess. It's getting late."
Ishita cajoled her sleepy little princess into waking up. It was Ruhi's first day back at school. After almost 2 months of vacation Ruhi was reluctant to get up and go to school. It took ishita lots of kisses, and promise of rewards to wake her daughter up. Ishita got Ruhi ready and carried her to the breakfast table.
"Ishima I want pasta for lunch and a chocolate milkshake now", little Ruhi demanded.
"Of course anything for my smart baby"
Ishita fed Ruhi breakfast and gave her the chocolate milkshake. She made pasta for Ruhi and prepared her school bag. She grabbed her car keys and picked Ruhi up to drop her off to school.
"Mummyji, I will drop Ruhi off at her school and go to the clinic. I have prepared breakfast and kept on the table. Bye."
"Ok puttar. Drive carefully. Bye Ruhi. Be a good girl."
Ishita and Ruhi chatted all the way to school. Ishita dropped Ruhi near the gate, said her goodbyes and turned around to leave. She felt her daughter hold her hand and so turned around and knelt in front of Ruhi.
"What is the matter Ruhi? Are you alright?"
Ruhi, who was looking at her friend kissing her father goodbye, turned towards the kneeling ishita and asked, "Ishima, why did papa not come to drop me off at school today? Is he angry at me?"
Ishita's eyes welled up looking at her dejected daughter. She scolded her husband a million times in her head for hurting Ruhi. "Who does he think he is? He says he is the CEO of the year but does not even know how to keep his daughter happy. All Ruhi needs is his time and love. Muttal."
She plastered a smile on her face and kissed Ruhi.
"How can anyone be angry at my lovely Ruhi? Papa has a very important meeting today. So he had to go the office. He was so sad that he could drop his princess in her school on her first day back. But let me tell you a secret. Before papa left for office today he told Ishima that he has a surprise for Ruhi."
"Sachi, Ishima?" Ruhi asked in an excited voice.
"Haan beta. But don't tell papa that I told you about his surprise else papa will be angry."
Ruhi promised ishita that she would not say anything to her papa about this and kissed her on the cheeks before going inside the gates happily. Ishita decided that she would talk to Raman today about this and make him spend some time with his daughter. After attending all the patients Ishita called Raman to talk to him about Ruhi.
"Hello Raman?"
"What do you want? I'm in a meeting right now."
"Can we meet after your meeting? I want to talk to you."
"I told you I'm busy. Don't disturb me. I have other work than running behind you all the time."
Ishita got angry after hearing at Raman's harsh words. But before she could say anything she heard the dial tone on the other end.
"Raavan Kumar doesn't even know basic manners. He knows that I would not call him unless it is important. Muttal. "
She remembered Ruhi's excited face from today morning and decided to talk to him no matter what. She would tolerate even his blackest of moods just for a smile on her daughter's face. With that thought in mind she picked up her car keys and headed for the parking lot. She decided that she would go to his office and wait for his meetings to get over to talk to him. She called up home and asked Mr.Bhalla to pick Ruhi from her school. On the way to his office she got struck in a signal. She was thinking about ways to approach him in the matter when she saw Shagun going in a car in the opposite direction. She caught a glimpse of the man driving the car.
"Is that Raman? It looked like him and the car looks just like his. What is he doing with Shagun? He said he had a meeting."
Ishita thought of calling Raman and asking him but decided otherwise. She called Mihir instead and asked him about Raman.
"Bhabhi, bhai left just now. He said he had some important meeting and left 5 min back."
"Oh Ok. Thank you, Mihir. I will talk to him."
Ishita called Raman again and this time he did not even let her speak.
"I told you I had an important meeting with the clients. Why the hell are you calling again and again? Don't call me again", he barked and cut the line.
"Clients? Why is Raman lying to me? If he wants to go with his ex-wife he can very well go to her. I will not stop him. So why is he lying?"
