Before I ramble about today's episode .. lemme give you a background about how I got hooked to this show .. I am a Punjabi settled in Bangalore for more than half a decade and some of my good friends in office happen to be Tamilian ... I usually do not watch any serial for obvious reasons of them being extremely annoying and monotonous ... rather with my lifestyle I do not get to watch TV at all and frankly had never missed it also ... it so happened that a friend asked me to watch this serial during a casual lunch break .. she being a Tamilian was enjoying and she said .. this one is really different ...
As fate would have it .. I was down with Viral in my bed with nothing to do but get bored ... thats when I started watching this on internet and God the freshness had me hooked on to it like anything ... in fact my husband though due to overmedication I am not acting stable and hooked on to a serial ...đ (I know the last serial I had watched was Amanat in Zee TV during my school days so u can imagine) ... To cut my rambling short .. I liked the story because
1. This one is fresh no doubt.
2. It tries to be as close to as possible (although to be frank, I cannot imagine a CEO to be this engrossed in his personal life ... any IT company will throw him out any day
3. The characters are somewhat similar to the realistic world. As I said, I know a little about both the worlds being a Punjabi settled in South India. Therefore, the rituals, beliefs are acceptably true.
4. The story is crisp and moving.
5. The love story of protagonists is quite realistic and their connection till now seems subtle and slow.
6. Both the actors are brilliant.
But to come to the real reason for all this rambling is ... this serial was so God damn fresh that it could make someone who had long forgotten serials to wait for 11:00 pm so that I could watch my favorite couple. But frankly, when I was watching the episode today, I looked at the watch three times ... to check when will this get over ... For the first time, I was bored ... I was like ... woahhh, is this going like every other soaps shown which mum in law is hooked to ... with rona dhona and blame games and what not ...
I mean ... "Had Hai" ... Ishita can read the expressions of Raman and think that something is not ok is acceptable ... but really ... really was that emotional talk of the entire khaandan trusts you necessary ... Don't you think it is a bit rushed in a way ... as in they now know each other and accept each other the way the entire episode went on ... Ishita making decisions and answering everyone on his behalf ... totally nakli and a turn off for me ...
Further, the scene on the bench ... imagine will you ever do this to your husband ... if u see your life partner in a disturbed state the first thing will be you go to him and be there for him ... help him talk ... sometimes just be there and say its ok ... not load him with all the moral values ... this is what all the other serial heroines do all the time ... not Ishita ... that is what makes her different and that is what makes the serial different ...
This serial has been different because people do not hide things ... they believe in communication and conversation ... Recently, Vandita scene. Brilliant ... her doubts about pregnancy ... she lied to her real sis ... but Bala figured out her stress and bingo ... she also could not lie .. she told him ... she discussed her problem, her concern, her fear .. this is what happens in real life ... Then, the party scene a few episodes ago when Shagun and Raman had a conversation regarding stem cells of Adi ... the Ishra conversation, woah ... I was so happy ... this lady looked offended by words ... and was sad ... but at the same time .. had a conversation ... did not run away ... and Raman ... he did not apologize or cover up ... he explained ... Adi and Shagun are a part of his life and of course he had happy memories from that life ... he has all rights to remember them and be emotional about them ... my point is again there was a brilliant conversation and all stupid doubts were ruled out ... so I am just hoping they stay the same and soon there is yet again a conversation .. they want to show subtle progress ... I think this should be the biggest one for them ... and if they want to show them moving closer ... the first step should be ... bare your souls and thereby all your hidden fears, all the insecurities everything ... fingers crossed ...
Coming on to Raman's character ... and I may be bashed up for this .. but I support his behavior ... he loves his son and lets face it .. although he divorced his wife and hates her now ... but he loved her at one point of time and it is unimaginable for him to think of her as a killer ... it will be a shock for him ... further ... his son's scared face ... a father will do anything to protect his child and he did marry a women he hated so much to protect the child ... he will save the mother of his other child to protect his son ... and lets face it ... Life is not Black or White .. It is grey also ... so sometimes people bend the morals and principals to protect the family ... As a father, his keeping silent makes his son happy ... so I think it is acceptable ...
But at the same time, he is a good man too who respects his in laws and has subconsciously accepted 'Ruhi's mother' as his wife ...as his responsibility ... so the inner turmoil ... As much as I hated Ishita for overburdening him with I trust you ... I loved the performance of Karan today ...
To end my rambling , my only wish is ... the producers get a wake up call and show us twists and turns but not make this one a predictable story ... for once I am happy looking at the clock to turn to 11 and enjoy this crazy world of Bhallas and Iyers ...
Cheers
Bhanu.
P.S. : I think after writing this, I may be murdered today .. but really when I saw Raman and Shagun hug today ... I felt they looked hot ... (I mean Karan and Anita together). for a moment I was like ... kaash ye Ishita hoti ... they will lovely together ... :P :P ... ok ready for Tomatoes and Joootas now ... hehehe đđ
