Part 29

A few weeks pass by and the event was just round the corner. Taani and Shivam along with Kriya had planned out all the requirements and how they will complete the tasks at hand. The team was also busy with rehearsals of various dances for the event. Amongst all the mess, Kriya had tried to talk to Rey but he was either busy or he simply just excused himself. He knew he had promised Taani that he would talk to Kriya but he couldn't get himself to talk to her.

After rehearsals everyone was resting when Taani, Shivam and Kriya walked in.

Taani: So guys prepared?

Vicky: Taani yaar kuch karke event pre-pone kar do. Bohot bore hogaye hai hum same cheez rehearse kar karke.

He received everyone's smacks. They were enjoying their gala time when Taani asked Rey to join her outside.

Rey: Kya hua Taani? Yahan kyun bulaya?

Taani: Bas yeh poochna tha ki kya aap apna promise bhool toh nahi gaye?

Rey: Kya yaar Taani tum roz roz yahi baat leke baith jati ho. I have told you, I'm not yet ready for all this. Why can't you understand?

Taani: Rey I understand, but aap bhi toh aisa behave kar rahe ho jaise aapke liye mein koi mayne hi nahi rakhti. As if you don't care about any promises you made to me.

Rey and Taani were oblivious that their conversation was being heard by another person and unknowingly anger was building inside him. He stood there silently listening to the two without taking any inappropriate step.

Sharon: Swayam tum yahan kya kar rahe ho?

Swayam immediately looked back and hoped Sharon didn't notice Rey and Taani. He gave her an excuse and left the place with her.

Rey made Taani face him and held her arms lightly yet strongly.

Rey: Taani, tumhe sachme lagta hai ki I don't care about you, your feelings and my promises to you?

Taani dropped her head and nodded a no.

Taani: But Rey please meri baat maan lo. She is trying really hard to talk to you. And I don't want my boyfriend to be so ruthless so as to not understand anyone's feelings. (She rolled her tongue inside her mouth.)

Rey: I'm ruthless? (He raised his eyebrow at her.)

She pushed him and got out of his hold and ran for her dear life giggling. Rey followed her giggles and cornered her into a room. Rey pinned her to the wall and placed both his hands on her either side blocking her.

Rey: Tumne jawab nahi diya.

Taani: Rey koi aajayega aap kar kya rahe ho? (She blushed pink.)

Rey: Koi aajayega toh aane do. Mujhe kya?

Taani: Rey please na.

Rey: No! Waise aajkal mein dekh raha hoon tumhe mere saath time spend karna atcha nahi lagta. Koi aur mil gaya hai kya? (He scrunched his brows together.)

Taani: Haan sahi kaha. But voh mujhe bohot pehle mil chuka tha bas feelings abhi develop ho rahi hai.

He guessed whom she meant and gave her an evil smile.

Rey: Feelings ko jara control mein rakhna warna tumhare iss naye aashiq ki jaan khatre mein aa sakti hai. (She gave him a surprised and questioning look and he continued.) Arre nai, mein kuch nahi karunga but kya hai na meri behen ka bharosa nahi. Voh Shivam ko katcha chaba jayegi. You see she is very short tempered.

On this both burst out laughing. But their laughing stopped immediately when they heard the door of that room open. Mr. Ghai came in and saw them standing close to each other. They both immediately separated.

Mr. Ghai: Oops! Sorry to disturb. Carry on.

He left the room leaving behind flustered Taani and smirking Rey. They both joined others in the rehearsal hall. Swayam saw them again and noticed they were behaving normally.

Swayam (thinking): Mein kuch jyada hi soch raha tha. Yeh dono toh complete normal lag rahe hai. Aur mujhe inhe dekh kar bohot awkward feel ho raha hai, which only means that everything is normal. Mein bhi kya soch raha tha. Rey is my best friend and I know he'll never hurt my sister.

A few weeks passed by and there was something that Swayam for sure felt weird. He assumed that it's just in his mind but that thing was irritating him a lot. He had witnessed Rey and Taani arguing over something many times but he didn't consider talking to anyone as the next moment they would be hugging each other and acting all mushy mushy, which still made him feel weird.

Everything was normal until last week. All of them were having a pre-event party at Rey's house. There too Rey was arguing with Taani. He was adamant on some decision while Taani was trying to oppose it. Swayam witnessed it but he couldn't get the reason of their argument. He was going to talk to one of them about it but then again both were back to being mushy again. He shrugged off all the thoughts from his mind and decided to leave Rey and Taani alone.

It was yet another day of rehearsals and event was just three days away. Swayam was leaving his house when Taani came to inform him something.

Taani: Bhai.

Swayam: Taani tum abhi tak ready nahi hui?

Taani: Bhai voh aaj mein nahi aa rahi.

Swayam: Kya hua? Tumhari sehat to theek hai na?

Taani: Bhai I am fine. Just thoda rest karna chahati thi so ghar pe hoon. App fikar mat karo.

Swayam felt strange but he had to go. He leaves and Taani sits in front of the TV deeply engrossed in her thoughts.

When Rey sees Swayam coming alone he felt strange as Taani hadn't informed him that she wouldn't be coming. He goes to talk to Swayam but is distracted by Niki who was ready to pounce on him as he had yet again sent crazy messages to Shivam using her phone just to irritate her. He was busy in tackling Niki and later he assumed that Taani must have arrived late and thought her to be working in the managing department.

Swayam on the other hand felt his doubts returning. He was surprised that Rey didn't ask about Taani. He saw him smirking and irritating Niki. He felt weird, this time not because of seeing Rey with his sister but because of not seeing, heck not even asking about her. He went straight to him.

Swayam: Rey.

Rey: Haan bol Swayam.

Swayam: Sab theek hai na?

Rey: Haan sab bilkul theek hai. Tum aise kyun pooch rahe ho?

Swayam: Nahi bas..

Niki comes from behind him and places the ice pack she got with her on Rey's neck making him jerk. He ran behind her to show what it feels to have cold ice pack on your neck.

He left his phone there itself. Swayam was about to leave when he saw his phone beep. Swayam saw that it was Taani's message. He tried hard not to, but ended up reading her message. He opened the message and after reading it he walked angrily towards Rey.

Swayam (as calmly as he could): Rey!

Rey: Haan bol?

Swayam: Taani ko tujhse kuch baat karni hai.

Rey: What? Usne tumhe yeh baat bata di? I don't believe this! Dekh Swayam abh tu bhi mujhe force mat kar. I have told her that I am not yet ready but vo maan hi nahi rahi hai.

Swayam didn't reply.

Rey: Tu samajh raha hai na ki mein kya keh raha hoon?

Swayam: Haan. Guys mujhe aur Rey ko kuch kaam hai hum aate hai.

Swayam announced to everyone and literally dragged Rey along with him to the car. They both sat in it. Swayam was driving very fast even on the crowded road. Rey felt worried seeing him angry for some reason.

Rey: Swayam baat kya hai? Why are you so angry?

Swayam slammed the break of the car which made a screeching sound and halted with a jerk.

Swayam:

Okay bas can't write more.😆

I hope maza aaya ho itna padhke.😛

Iss se jyada nahi likh sakti thi in this part.
