Whats the point of promoting movies on JDJ?

I don't get it, ... - I don't know if the episodes are like this in India, but here in Canada, when stars come to promote the movie MOST Of the time, they wont even TALK about the movie. I have noticed this last season to.

Sometimes they will make references but most of the time the hosts wont say, okay "this is the movie", or this movie is releasing on so and so day, etc etc...they don't even show a small trailer of the movie or make ay significant references to it.

For example with Sonakshi/Akshay came, nothing about Holiday was mentioned.

Are they editing those parts out or what? because I constantly have people asking me "why is this person on the show", and people just never know that they are there to promote a certain movie.

Sometimes a trailer is shown of the movie.

More than promoting the movies, celebrities come to raise the TRP of the shows so that more people will watch. For someone who doesn't watch Jhalak, if an actor like Shahrukh is invited for an episode I know a ton of Shahrukh fans that will tune in to just that one episode to watch him on screen.
