It is intriguing that BH has no personal privacy. Ganga listened to Basant Gahna conversation (they are like her MIL, FIL) and did not try to draw attention by knocking. Ideally, she should have left when she saw that they are discussing personal matters - it must be embarrassing for Basant -Gahna because the DIL listened to the angry words..

where Ganga intervened in anyone's privacy ? She came to place Nandu's books and by chance heard Basant and Gehna's conversation When she came Basant was angry at Ganga Now if she is coming to place Basant and Gehna's child's books in their room is also intervening their privacy ?or she should put ear plugs in her ears and close her eyes then come to other's rooms with some work so that she would not hear and see anything I failed to understand where any privacy is intervened here?

It is about how generally people behave - if the door is open, anybody can come and hear what is going on (arguments). But when a DIL goes and hears that the FIL is saying something in anger to her MIL, what would she do? She will leave them instead of standing at the door listening silently - not even a knock so as to alert them. Putting Nandu's books was not some urgent work that cannot wait.
