There's no difference between Neev and me

Jay Bhanushali who made his debut as Neev in Kayamath says he is exactly like his onscreen carefree character. Here the actor tells us more about himself...

"There is no difference between Neev and me"
Most of my character's qualities are the same as my own. If you know me you might say that it is just Jay who's doing his thing. Like Neev I'm flirty and naughty and what not! I just like to be funny and make people laugh. That is what Jay Bhanushali is all about.

I have an elder brother and an elder sister. My sister is married and she has two kids. We come from Kutch, small part of Gujarat. It's been more than 25 years I've been in Mumbai and I'm loving it.

Jay's first experience with fame:
It was a surprise to me because after three months of working hard I finally got one day off and went out. I thought I'd spend the day the way I wanted to. I just went out and thinking I would be the same Jay Bhanushali who is funny, naughty and who chills out with friends. We went to one joint where you get a lot of chatpata food and when I got there I suddenly saw some people staring at me and giving me strange looks. I thought 'what's wrong with them!' Then I realized and thought 'ok maybe they know me'. They came up to me. It was nice because people were just jumping and asking me for pictures, photographs and autographs. My first experience with fans was a great feeling.

Now that I am a familiar face wherever I go people treat me like they know me and it feels great. People say good things about me, about my acting and my serial. I've noticed that especially kids are my fans. People around 18 watch my serial everyday. They come up to me and call me bhaiya. It's fun interacting with them.

One of the strangest experiences for me was…
When I went to Siddhivinayak. I had a mannat that if people like me and my serial goes well I would come back there. I was there with my bro and managed to enter without being noticed but when I came outside I saw a big gang of people taking photographs. It was very chaotic. The police and everything was there and they told my bro to please take me away. They said that if we stayed even 5 minutes more it would get more hectic and out of control. The police came and they actually pulled my hand and they escorted me to my car and there were people running behind. So it was a good feeling that people love me so much but it was a bad day I guess for the policemen!

For me everyday on the sets is a blessing because…
This is what I wanted since my college days. When there was this cross over show with Kahaani, Kyunki and Kayamath coming together I was so happy that Ekta gave me a chance to work at it. She gave me a lot of work to do there. She trusted me and was very happy with my work so I am very thankful to her.

I learn a lot from Suraj Thaparji who plays my father. He is the one who comes to me and advises me. It feels good that an experienced person like him tells me "you do this and you do this that way". At the end of the day it is a joint effort and that is why the show is such a big success. It's because every actor comes together to give a good product.

TV or Films?
I am thinking about doing movies too but at the present I'm very busy with serials. I would love to explore my talent in every field whether it's TV or movies. Right now I only hope for the best.

My first love is TV because TV has given me everything. I am never going to leave TV for movies. I've been here for over 10 years and this is where I got fame, money and a lot of things. I owe a lot to it and I wouldn't leave for any movie.

The actor is currently single:
I don't have a girlfriend so that's some good news for my fans!

Jay is a big movie buff
I don't get time to watch a lot of TV. I watch a lot of movies though. Whenever I'm free I catch up on a film. I watch only Bollywood movies because I like the drama, suspense and emotion which Bollywood movies have. I like more of that rather than stunts and action which is prominent in Hollywood. My favorite Bollywood movie has to be Waqt which stared Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar. I just love the movie and the way they showed the father and son relationship. I like Akshay Kumar a lot.

"I am a complete party animal!"
I hardly get time these days but when I do I like listening to music. I carry my laptop and play games on the sets. Shabir Ahluwalia and me both get our laptops and spend our free time playing and having fun. I'm a big gamer; I play sports games from football to cricket. I also enjoy racing games. Shabir is a very good cricket player and he's good at playing games too. He always wins and I always lose!

If I get time at night I have to spend it partying somewhere. I usually party a lot. When I was not shooting for Kayamath I used to party 3-4 times a week. I'm a big party animal! Otherwise I chill out and spend time with my friends
