I think Amitabh is more of a legend than an icon. icon is too small of a word to describe him'.

True that but still bar has to be set high to be called icon or else someone would say Ranbir/Alia/Ranveer/DP are icons.😆

we all should set goals to be an icon ourselves, regardless of wherever we r n whatever we do.

instead of running after socalled media made icons.

First name that comes to mind is Maduri and Srk. Hema Malini too perhaps. And of course Sridevi.

I even consider Kajol iconic. Of course Aish too.

Govinda is def iconic. So is Salman.

my def of a Bollywood icon is someone who contributed a lot to Indian cinema. Like when you think of Bollywood..their names are the first ones that comes to mind.

For example..Govinda brought a certain type of dance and movies to Bollywood. He pretty much defined Bollywood during his era...so did Srk and Salman. So that makes them iconic.

Maduri is iconic because she is a complete package. And she had those iconic songs.

Each Era had it's icon. But at the end icon to me is a complete package, who can act/dance/inspire and is a role model.

So among male stars -AMITABH BACHCHAN, SRK, Salman Khan because of their different styles they bought to the screen and contribution to Hindi cinema.

Female stars -SRIDEVI, MADHURI, MADHUBALA, Aishwarya, Rekha

See as per google, Icon is 'a person or thing regarded as a representative symbol or as worthy of veneration.''

When I one says Bollywood Icon, that person/actor should be someone who defines Bollywood, who has in someway or somehow changed face of BW in its time or contributed a lot to cinema. A bollywood icon can also be said to be person whom people follow religiously, whom people admire , respect

For me Amitabh Bachchan will also be LEGEND rather than ICON because he defines BW for any cinephile.

Also for me Icons are Sridevi, Hema Malini, Madhuri, Nargis Dutt, Madhubala,Waheeda Rehman among actresses and SRK, Salman, Aamir, Dillip Kumar, Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor among actors.
