Chapter 8:The unknown feelings of the other side
It was a breezy morning as the night before it rained continuously.Just as the clouds seemed not to stop the heavy downpour , Navya's thoughts had also decided not to let her sleep whole night.She couldn't help herself as she thought about all the possibilities of her getting engaged with Anant in the first place instead of Mohan. What if the bio-data was of Anant's only along with his photograph?What if the marriage proposal for her was for Anant's only?Her story would have been different then as she had fallen in love with that same person whom she is getting married unlike her present situation where she is in love with the groom's brother! Why only her life had to be such complicated? Can't she celebrate this new found feeling in freedom? She sighed with sadness.
*I don't even have any idea if he feels the same,uski life mein toh koi aur haina*Navya thought as she closed her eyes in pain.

Navya sat on the breakfast table with a gloomy face.
Meeta stopped applying butter on the toast as she found her daughter lost rather upset.
"Navya!"Meeta called her breaking her chain of thoughts.
"Jee ma"Navya looked up.
"Sab thik toh haina beta,tabiyat kaisi hai ab teri"She asked looking concerned.
"Haan Maa sab thik hai,meri tabiyat bhi" replied Navya
"Chalo acha hain vaise"Meeta put the bread toast on her plate "teri saans ka phone aaya tha,vo chahti hai ki tu Mohan ke directly office chali jaa lunch time pe vahi se tum dono kisi restaurant chale jana"
"Thike Maa"said Navya just then something clicked her.
"Par Maa,mujhe toh ye dhyaan hi nahi aaya tha,mai bahar ka abhi kuch kha nahi sakti,doctor ne mana kiya hai"
"Beta,unke saamne thoda sa kha lena,kahi damad ji ko bura na lag jaye"requested Meeta.
Navya didn't like the word "damad ji" being used for Mohan. She was worried that how a relation name is disturbing her but when this will be turned to reality how will she be able to accept it but she decided to suppress her feelings giving them a name of mere infatuation, continue to treat Anant as a friend and give Mohan a chance.She felt relieved as she found herself temporary settling down the situation for now.She gave her mother a happy nod,ate her breakfast and went to her room leaving behind a confused Meeta.

"So tu aaj Mohan se milne wali hain?"Asked Appy on the speaker along with Rits on the other line of call.
"Haan,acha haina"said Navya with a huge grin to let her friends know that she is excited but moreover consoling herself.
Rits and Appy shared a confused look.
"Umm,tu khush hain Navya?"Rits asked to assure.
"Haan of-course yaar,finally mai aaj usse milungi jisse meri shaadi hone wali hain"Replied Navya trying hard to gulp the fact.
Rits and Appy again looked at each other nodding their head in a gesture that their dear friend has gone completely mad.
"Anant ko pata hain ye baat?"Appy asked.
Navya's face dropped hearing his name as she lost all the gathered confidence to stay strong with her new determination n all.
"Ab mujhe nahi pata, anyways mujhe tyaar hona hain so bye"said Navya and cut the call.
An idea clicked Rits as she grinned.
"Kya?Ab tu bhi Navya jaisi pagal ho gayi hai kya?"Asked a shocked Appy .
"You know what Appy"said Rits with a smirk "it's the right time ki hum pata lagaye ki if Anant has some feelings for Navya or not.Tere paas uska no. hai?"

"Excuse me,May I know where is the cabin of Mr. Mohan Bajpai?"Asked Navya luking beautiful in a green colored salwar kameez but with no happiness on her face.
"Sure ma'am its..."The receptionist tried to reply but the office phone rang up.She picked up that call.
The call didn't seem to end soon.Navya tried to ask again just then the receptionist said"yeah
on the right side"
Navya nodded and left.
Actually the receptionist was talking to a client and was giving her the directions but Navya misinterpreted it.
Navya knocked 2-3 times but nobody answered.She decided to check in.She went inside to find the boss's chair empty.She thought that Mohan might have gone out for some work and decided to wait here itself.She sat on the chair and started looking around.She found the place a bit messy.What she had heard from her mother about Mohan is that he is a very hygienic person but here it seems everything opposite.She mocked thinking about it silently.Suddenly her eyes fell upon a heap of files above the cupboard which seemed like it will fall anytime soon.
"Arae ye files kaise arranged hai, kabhi bhi gir sakti hain"She gave an impossible look.
She dragged her chair in front of the cupboard and tried to lift those files from there and settle it in a safer place but her hands were not reaching.She tried hard and her leg twisted but she was again saved from hitting the ground by her love.
Navya closed her eyes in fear while two strong pair of arms held her tight in his arms like he has made a firm determination in saving Navya from every obstacle.He looked at her innocent face which were filled by frowns by then.He smiled seeing her and whispered softly "Ghabrao mat,mai hamesha tumahre liye hoon." Navya opened her eyes to see those hazel brown orbs of Anant who was gazing at her dark black orbs affectionately.He said each and every word with so much firmness that it seemed like whether its in this situation or in her life, he is always there for her to support her, to be with with her in the thick and thins of her life.She couldn't help but a small smile curved her lips hearing him.
"Ahh"Navya winched in pain.Soon she realized that its paining on her ankle as her foot just got twisted off.
"Kyu hua?Tum thik ho?"Anant asked concerned looking at her still holding her in his arms.
"Vo.. mera paer..ahh"Navya couldn't say further.
Anant took her near the sofa and made her sit there with her legs straight .He sat on his knees on the floor in-front of her and slowly tried to remove her sandal.
"Arae,ye kya kar rahe ho?"Navya asked in worry.
Anant gave her a side smile and removed her sandal completely.He then kept her foot above his knee and gently massaged it.
Navya tried to stop him but she closed her eyes in relief as it reduced her pain.Soon she opened her eyes as she realized that her pain was all gone but she was surprised to find Anant looking at her toes lovingly and still massaging it.
She blushed at this and said "Anant,ab dard nahi ho raha"
He smiled and sat on the sofa behind her.
"So,aaj bhai ke saath lunch pe jaa rahi ho?"Asked Anant with a pinch of sadness and jealousy in his voice.
"Haan Aunty ji chahti thi aur maa bhi..."Navya tried to say.
"Aur tum?"Anant shot up a look at her "Tum kya chahti thi,Navya?"
She gulped to see a sudden anger in his eyes.He seemed to be hurt and angry at the same time.
"Vo mai.."Navya couldn't say further as Mohan barged in.
"Aray Navya tum yaha?"Asked Mohan confused looking at Navya and Anant sitting like this.
"Ji vo ye aapka hi cabin haina"Navya said and tried to get up but was held by Anant "Arae khadi kyun ho rahi ho,baithi raho" He made her sit back on the sofa. Mohan seemed to notice this gesture but Anant didn't mind at all.He was all concerned for Navya at this moment.
Anant find this as the best opportunity to cancel their lunch.
"Vo bhai dekhiye na Navya ke paer mai moch aa gayi hai,aise mein aap logo ka bahar jana sahi hoga,I mean usae thoda rest karna chahiye"said Anant hoping to get a positive reply.
"Oh I see vaise"Mohan looked at her "Ye mera cabin nahi Anant ka hain but that's okay aur kyun na phir lunch ka plan kisi aur din rakhte hain,what say?"
Navya nodded to say something but Anant was quick to reply.
"Bhai,kyu na Navya aaj hum sab ke saath lunch kare,I mean humare ghar chale,kaisa rahega?"Anant asked with a bright smile.
He didn't want them to meet alone and if the lunch will be held itself at bajpai house then he was sure that they won't find some alone time to have a conversation with each other.
Navya was all the while very confused with Anant's behavior.Why was he trying to cancel their lunch? Why it was affecting him so badly?
"Haan ye thik rahega phir,mai maa ko batake aata hoon ki unke ghar ki hone wali bahu aaj hum sab ke saath lunch karegi"Said Mohan as he walked out.
Navya was looking at Anant with a questioning look while he was doing a victory dance inside his head as he cancelled their lunch.He mentally thanked Rits and Appy for calling him and telling him about their meeting.
"So Navya kya lena chahengi aap tea ya coffee?" Anant grinned.He was back to his fun mood now.
While Navya was somewhere happy as well in this plan change and replied "Tea"with a smile.
