Shilpa welcomes Emily's exit

Celebrity Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty today welcomed Channel 4's decision to throw out one of the contestants from the current show for using a racially offensive word.

Speaking at the launch of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) celebrations in Leeds, the Bollywood beauty said she was "really happy" that Emily has been kicked off the show.

According to Channel 4, the posh student was heard to say: "Are you pushing it out you n*****?" while dancing with housemate Charley in the living room.

Shilpa said today: "I'm glad that Channel 4 has taken action. Well I'm really happy and I compliment them on the action they have taken."

The Indian actress was embroiled in a race row involving Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara when she was on the celebrity version of the show.

There were 44,000 complaints over the controversy.

Viewers were outraged by comments which included Jade dubbing Shilpa "Shilpa Poppadom", Danielle saying the Bollywood star should "f*** off home", and Danielle and Jo making derogatory statements about Indian eating habits after Shilpa cooked a chicken.

I think itz great that BB decided to eject emily as it shouldnt just stand by when racial remarks are being spread...
