Preity Zinta molestation case: New witness Arjun Tendulkar?

ANI New Delhi, June 19, 2014 | UPDATED 20:52 IST

Sachin Tendulkar's minor son Arjun Tendulkar may have his statement recorded by Mumbai Police in connection with actress Preity Zinta's harassment complaint against Wadia Group scion Ness Wadia, unconfirmed reports are saying.

Preity Zinta, Arjun Tendulkar

Arjun Tendulkar was apparently present at the Wankhede Stadium when the incident took place, and some reports are saying that Wadia may have allegedly abused him too.

Zinta has been asked by the Mumbai Police to record her statement by this weekend. Earlier, she had also denied selling her stake in Kings XI Punjab team. On Wednesday, Zinta tweeted that she was neither going to sell her stake in the team, nor was she planning to settle in America.

Zinta had tweeted yesterday, "A big Thank U 2all the people 4the support. Amazed at how much speculation in the media. No, I'm not selling my stake or settling in the U.S."

She also wrote, "SO called sources says anything and it's getting reported. Pls No hearsay. There are many IMP Issues in India which are much more news worthy.

The Wadia Group had also alleged on Wednesday that they were receiving threats from the underworld warning them not to harass Zinta.

IPL COO records statement, confirms Zinta-Wadia spat

IPL COO records statement, confirms Zinta-Wadia spat
Indian Premier League Chief Operating Officer Sundar Raman on Thursday confirmed Preity Zinta's claim that she had informed him about her spat with former boyfriend and industrialist Ness Wadia, at the Wankhede Stadium on May 30.

The Marine Drive police recorded Raman's statement at the BCCI's office, in which he said that Zinta had informed him verbally about Wadia's behaviour in the pavilion as well as on the field on May 30.

Along with Raman, the statements of five others were also recorded on Thursday, including BCCI employee Ankit Baldi and businessman Danish Merchant, who were said to be present in Garware Pavilion when Wadia allegedly abused Zinta and tried to pull her hand.

DCP Ravindra Shisve said, "In his statement, Raman confirmed that Zinta had informed him about being abused by Wadia in the pavilion as well as on the field. A few whose statements were recorded confirmed the incident, while the rest didn't know about it."

Shisve added, "The two had got into an argument thrice - first in the presence of their team Kings 11 Punjab before the match, the second time in the Garware Pavilion where they were seated separately, and the third time on the filed after the match."

According to sources, Zinta is to arrive in Mumbai this week, and will record a supplementary statement which the cops need to clarify several aspects of the case.

The police will then do a spot panchnama and recreate the scene, following which they plan to summon Wadia for questioning.

Meanwhile, the police have sought information from the Kings 11 Punjab team pertaining to the seat sharing allotment. Also, the police have yet to be given ground video footage recorded by Sony Television, which will help substantiate the incident, as the cameras in the pavilion do not have any footage regarding the incident.

Abuse is a loaded word. it can be verbal, physical or sexual. I wish they would use words like shouted or raised his voice instead of abuse.

Err it was verbal and physical abuse. Pulling someone by hand is physical abuse. It may not be on the same level as bashing someone but no-one has a right to manhandle another person. And swearing at a person is verbal abuse and again no-one has a right to do that. He isn't going to end up in jail for this but at least he will learn that you can't verbally abuse or physically abuse anyone and think it is ok. I don't think he'll be swearing or pulling Preity's hand again after this or threatening her that he will 'make her disappear'.

I hope the court grants a restraining order, so she can stay safe from Wadia in the future!

Verbal abuse is terrible, it's not a very nice feeling when someone is shouting on your face that you're a b***h or w***e or s**t. It's scary how people use words like that so occasionally, do people even know what it means? 🤢
