Big B, Abhay to star in first India-China co-production
Gold Struck is expected to be shot in the US, China and India and these are the markets that are being targeted. The action-comedy will feature a lot of Chinese martial arts and Bollywood-style songs and dances. It will be directed by Corey Yeun and Tony Cheung. Corey has Hollywood films like Romeo Must Die and the Transporter series behind him while Tony has directed The Sage Hunter. Buzz is, the legendary Chinese actor, Jackie Chan, has also been approached for this project but is yet to give his nod.
There's been a lot of speculation about the star cast since a show reel was screened at Berlinale and Cannes this year. Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor were two names that were doing the rounds but Mirror has learnt that the company is in advanced talks with Amitabh Bachchan while Abhay Deol has already given his nod to the project.
When Mirror got in touch with Gayathiri Batra, the producer in India, she said, "Yes, Gold Struck is the first Indo-China co-production venture but it's too early to reveal any details."
