How can we call something a lie if we do not know what the truth is? 😕 This is true especially in VL although it happens to a large extent in RL also (eg applying for charity care, college grant, loans etc). No single person has monopoly on exageration..

People love to react to stories in emotional ways (self gratifying) and need to learn how to handle their own emotions and reactions instead of blaming the internet.

I am with you LH .. well-said @ no reason to blame internet.

The question is what happens when the truth does come out because the liar himself has given 5 different kind of information? to 15 people? I see you blaming 15 people and so do I. the first one is victim for sure, but others should begin to believe a pattern 😛.
Absolutely true @ ones own emotions. This is how the smart and secure ones catch such people, expose them and move on and laugh in their face, and alert others who could be victimized.
The victims with issues however continue to live in the fake world created by internet :) and eventually blame internet. By the time, other victims have moved on..

As about truth, it never hides.. 😆 Those who cry about skeletons in other's closets, rarely know that the skeletons were placed to bait them and other posters were made aware and part of the scheme 😉.. Internet is not a safe place- even for predators. Angels are watching over..

Since you mentioned the thread posted to make others aware - let me tell you that it was Ghastly Wrong to accuse someone of being a predator without any proof as defined by law or dictionary. That thread was removed when the Mistake was realised...Big difference in flirt and a predator.

As far as victims of ONLINE FLIRTING go (I am talking about adults here) well the whole thingy sounds like abortion debate.. Fun pehle or rona dhona /abortion baad mein....😉

In this scenario, I don't see a reason why CHRIS HANSEN could be judged as wrong. Several YOUTUBE downloads can also be found.
