Mumbai: While Vikas Bahl is gearing up for Shandaar, his next project after the critically acclaimed Queen, we've learnt a little something about the characters that the lead pair " Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt " portray.

A little birdie told us, "In Shandaar, which is a take on destination weddings, both Alia and Shahid are shown to be suffering from insomnia. Their sleeplessness is what bonds them together and makes them fall in love."

We hear that Vikas and his writing team did a lot of research to get their facts about right. They presented this study material to Shahid and Alia too, so they could get the nuances of their characters better, our source says.
