I saw today's episode...Sanam being buried alive and Aahil rescues her.

And then I went back to the episode aired on January 23, 2013 where Zoya gets buried and Asad rescues her.

The scenario was different...the location was different...the actors were different and yet the idea was the same...The guy realizing he cares for the girl.

KSG's acting was so realistic that it still gave me goosbumps when I saw it yet. KVB's acting had its own desperate-ness in it. I am not comparing actors...but the scenes.

Somehow the older scenes seemed so much more intense and these are the reason why I think it was so profound:

1) Before that episode, Asad-Zoya had a lot of interaction. Albeit they were of accusations and arguments but there was attraction boiling under the surface and audiences felt it. The number of scenes with them two were a lot more.

2) They were the main focus of the episode and audiences were rooting for them to be together...nothing else mattered. Audiences were gripped tightly by the scene and the emotions.

Now here is why I think today's scene wasn't as captivating:

1) It seemed rushed. Aahil/Sanam has not bonded the way Asad/Zoya bonded in their relationship. There are flashes of scenes where you "feel" they find each other attractive and then it just vanishes.

2) Tanveer/Rehaan scene totally diluted the intensity of the burial scene. Audiences didn't know whether to be anxious for Zoya or listen to Tanveer's sob story.

Today's episode left a lot to be desired. It proved once again certain 'magic' moments should not be recreated. I just hope CVs pen more original scenes and scenarios between the smoking hot lead.

Yes, more originality required for SAHIL scenes than just piggy backing on epic ASYAA scene.

I so agree with you

' Audiences didn't know whether to be anxious for Zoya or listen to Tanveer's sob story. '

I agree.. It was an ok scene but i really wished they hadn't tried to recreate the scene coz it obviously led to comparisons. While watching the scene, i couldn't help but think of AsYa n how beautifully KSG had portrayed that scene and not only that, how wonderfully that whole sequence had been delivered like u mentioned. We understood the depth of their story and feelings. Its like the cVs have soo many tracks going on that they forgot abt SaHil love story and now suddenly realized that its one of the major attractions of QH n why ppl are getting interested again in the show so they're ffwding their love story.
I have to say though that i'm dying to see tomorrow's epi!! Its gonna be a fabulous scene n can't wait for Sanam to say Aahil. Still missed that with AsYa so kam se kam woh khwaish toh yahaan poori ho jayegi 😉

Originality Zindabaad!!

As you said that situations are different so according to both situations KSG and KVB performed superbly . And i think this scene has set SaHil story. It was beautiful scene and their was not any OTT stuff .
And honestly i liked SaHil scene more then AsYa scene. Totalt my POV
P.s i am huge fan of both AsYa and SaHil. I am not biased towards anyone i am telling what i felt.

You said it all, its not actors fault, its the story teller, direction and the overall scene. I just could not connect with the scene, though KVB did a good job, but scene was totally out of place, not required at this point. They still need some time to create that magic, they are not in love yet, When Asya scene happened you could feel the Intensity as they were given time to connect, they were attracted to each other, it was such a powerful scene, even when Asad slaps Zoe, or when he gives her the rose, or when he got her back from the Aslam drama, all those scenes were so intense because they perfectly fit in to the story. it still gives me a goose bump when I see that slap, his anger later that he slapped her.. It was just so amazing, here Sanam and Ahil did not get any chance to connect. KVB did awesome but it was all waste. I just do not get why they are copying old scenes, they were epic.. Also Precap is shot beautifully, but does not make any sense when Sanam says " Ahil muze chodke mat jaoo" why? I mean yes he saved her, but they are not in love yet, not even attracted, it all seem so rushed.. and that is the reason we can not connect with it.. and yes Surbhi and KVB do have a good chemistry, they just have to be original with them...

It is sad that Gul thinks Tannu story is more important in QH story that anything else, I am just so sick of her drama and OTT acting.

Why comparing two scenes, are they apple to apple?

Like you said, there was lot of interaction between AsYa and they were at some level of understanding and there was strong attraction and exchange of strong words, I don't think that scene would have been impactful if wasn't for "pata nahi kab aapse picha chootega". They were both in it from beginning from journey Bhopal to Mangalpur alone..
Would you want same scene? Same scenario, then we might have complained where is creativity..
This scene wasn't accident or incident, it was planned and well played. But this might be starting of something which in AsYa case should have been to, instead all we saw MU and Tanveer..
And you are wrong when you say the focus was on them, it was part of PV and QH MS, the two stories were mashed up together. Take out Yash Aarti part, that might have fizzled out too..
I agree that scene was quick and less impactful but then do we want to see Tanveer and her bullies, bullying Sanam and dragging? I wasn't, so ok with how it played out. SJ and KVB did they part with full sincerity like SJ and KSG did. Story has to move on and I am happy that it is..
Also such scenes are easy on eyes when villain is third party someone unknown or I would say unbiased, Mamu Vs Tanveer, hatred level for Manu was none with viewers and with Tanveer it already shoot off the roof..
