thanks so much cyn, and i loved your thought on coming into her own, owning him, get=ting ready. in very mahabharath terms, now that you watch it and the hehe hunks, i think you are speaking of the arjun state... getting ready for battle. this time with full might. if she has doubts, nk, krishna-like , will clear those. and she too, herself her own krishna maybe... kidnap allowed us a apace unreal, brilliantly surreal... salvador dali or woody allen may have had fun with it their own way... i liked what asr khushi and the writers did with that space...

Episode 253

A beautiful word often used in Hindi poetry for Radha Krishna, Ram Sita.. "Virah".. Longing in separation from a lover.. In a soliloquy as Sita remained a captive of Ravana she sings.." She wished she could stop breathing now that she is away from Ram since it is so painful to draw in each breath. Yet the lingering hope of the eyes catching a glimpse of him again keeps her going. And she refuses to close those eyes." I was quite young when I read it and it was supposed to be a religious text. But something told me this is how separation is meant to feel.

Time passes in jolts. Sometimes chunks whizz by and sometimes each millisecond drags into an unending eternity.

It is all about love really. How with him lies her sanity, her strength. With him gone everything is dull, unreal, a shadow of what he left behind. He is her sun and the moon can only shine when the sun's life giving rays fall on it. Her center of gravity is no longer in front of her eyes. How meaningless and empty everything is! She is but hollow, incomplete without him.

She looks ethereal in white. Forlorn. Her hand curls around his shirt in a fleeting wisp of her memory. Tonight her lonely hand balls itself into a fist. Uneasy sleep. And a haunting beautiful dream, I confess, details of which I had forgotten from my first watch. Nice in a way. Like am seeing it with fresh eyes for the very first time. A splendid visual imagery that assaults your senses. Nothing grand in this low budget Indian show. The grandeur is when they catch the human emotions and display it for us to revel in. I am no Sigmund Freud. I cannot interpret the dream. But I do see the love. Pearls. Mannat ki chabhi. Her amma's payal. As women's instinct returned in full force. A lover transformed into a seer. huh, so you were on freud ji's trackwa already... beautifully written that bit about indian shows, emotion and the returmn of instinct, unhampered by all the fights and friction.

Destiny threw her right in the arms of a steely eyes stranger. He threw the harshest of unthinkable insults at her. A terrible adventure she had landed herself in. A place she could not even imagine remotely. Dressed in her finest and made even more alluring, a dupatta trampled under his feet. His arms around her. A handsome magnetic face that had stared right back at her.. And then had been captivated by her.. lips? Why had it felt unreal, but possibly altered her forever. not enough is said about this change, this jolt in khushi's fairly simple predictable life... she was not ever supposed to meet such a man... nor get so close... and finally here... how much this meeting altered her own self.. . how much she grew even as she released his trapped inner flow. how she found maybe even herself because a man refused to accept that she was this sweet simple girl, even after he fell in love and said as much, how he pushed her... and with each push she grew a bit more...

Irrevocably entangled two lives. He had dared to tear away her pristine pearl dori. Those innocent jewels lay scattered at their feet. Falling as if in slow motion . Magnified hypnotic as they bounced off the hard floor. But had she been more alive than at that moment under his unwavering unnerving stare, slipping away the restrains from her hair to regain back her pride. Alive that's what this dangerous dance with fire had felt like. Khushi Kumari Gupta perhaps always had needed Arnav Singh Raizada to reach her true potential. Or simply to fill in those hollow nooks and corners within her. exactly and up there i just went on about that.

What made her hold on to a key that belonged to the rude, arrogant, cynical man who made it clear he did not believe in anything nice. she not only held onto it, but oh how she ran after him when he told her to throw it away... she flowed like the ocean after him, tide coming in, wild and determined. he did not want her in his life...but she had to talk to him. why? this man had just assaulted her and locked room, scared and threatened her, so why was she determined to run after him with a key... such beautiful lead ins there.

Why did his dreams feel precious? Worth guarding with her life. A secret just hers to treasure. An incomprehensible tie already forged with this devil incarnate. Something that safely silently remained in her bright gaudy jhola as a reminder of an inexplicable spark. She had not thrown it away but kept it close.

Her amma's payal.. He had kept that close to him. Tenderly with utmost devotion in his eyes he had placed in on her feet the night she felt like a princess in a fairy tale. Glittering gleaming lights everywhere. People celebrating all around. But just one man before her. Gazing at her like no one had ever looked at her before. Her thoughts taking an unbidden direction. She could not control them that night. Her eyes kept returning to the man who was making her feel like a woman. how i wish she had said that to him at some point... yes, he made her feel like a woman... always a woman to him... and one more thing... an equal... he could fight with her and say what he wanted to. The most beautiful woman. She had felt a strange sense of exhilaration. Did she understand the power that she held over him? i don't think she did... but she will get it after a point... she did have that power over him... he had struggled with, known it was there... how wonderfully lovely and complex and real this relationship.. the wonderful touch points, the meeting places in their beings..

hat regular Khushi Kumari Gupta had been enough and more than enough to draw Arnav Singh Raizada in. New sensations flooding and illuminating her being. She knew deep within he wanted her that night and she had wanted him. She was in love. And desire a beautiful expression of that love. He had taken care of her, made her feel safe. Magically conjured her amma's payal and put it on her. His touch has seared her skin and she had craved for more. Not sure what, but there had to be more.

But life had gotten complicated. It felt necessary to hate him when all her heart really wanted to do was shower him with affection..with love... Now he was gone and something was terribly undeniably wrong. He was calling out to her.."Khushi.." her name on his lips..his sould reaching out to his soulmate.. her.."Khushi".. A prayer.. A gentle caress.. A cry for help.. Just her.. He needed her.. Just like she needed him.. was nothing without him.. Oblivion.. She had to find him.. Reach him before it was too late.. Urgency.. Panic.. Oh where are you my love?!

Tonight she doesn't care if the whole family's sleep is disturbed. Single threaded focus on him. No ego that even after her tearful pleading he boarded the flight. He should be the one to call. No... She will call him. And if he isn't calling, some misfortune has surely befallen him. Not conscious of what everyone is thinking. No necessity to keep up appearances, behave normal, calm, collected. No... Tonight she will just be a loving wife waiting and worrying for husband. He always said we should do what feels right to us and give a damn about what is the expected norm. Tonight she unknowingly embraced it as she emerged a premika...his lover..his wife.. Her sole existence breathes of her love. It is just him. And no one else, nothing else matters but him.

um why do i get teh feeling i have commented before... anyway, was a lovely read. virah yes, and the vedana of it. she indeed is ready to be mate now. khussi bitiya all set to adorn herself in the name that gives her place power meaning... ready to be khushi.

sanaya was lovely. even without a single symbol would have been a beautiful scene. thanks and loads of comments up there.

he came to her in a dream, his voice calling her, touching her, wrapping around her heart... making her awaken, beckoning her to another world. dressed in flowing white edged with the colours of belonging, red and gold, she walked blindly wherever he called her, chasing his voice, needing to reach it... him.

arnav ji. she grew frantic, knowing he was here, here somewhere... and near her feet lay little opalescent pearls. a handful scattered, she might have stepped on them. signs of their very first meeting that inexplicable night... its rage and storm echoing in them somewhere ever since... he had snapped a dori, the pearls had scattered and a connection had come into being.

You know how I feels about these elements and Pearls are oceanic drops of his love in different angles...anger, rage, love, sorrows,pleas, along with his care, touch, affection, and much much more ...He is a true ocean where the pearls gets created from the particle of dust , which he is enveloping in his secure touch to create a most soft and cherished pearl ...Khushi and that what i saw when he was holding three pearls in his hand and then after caressing them threw them to touch the air to take that message and what happened after that ...THat pearl appeared in his closet...He had her payal...she appeared in his heart...oh the key has been found by her after giving him to unlock her mysteries of everything why is she feeling for this ruthless man and bow she has reached to that Oyster within that ocean to see what in reality he is...From now on she will cherish him and fight for him , caress him , love him., like no one...

Anklet, payal, silver one, a a sign of moon,serenity within with purity and femininity of a woman when touches a man's visage, pool of engraved desires becomes a storm within to take him where he feels as he is lighter than air, and a woman become complete.a circle or eternity, a completion of souls which he did by giving it to her on an auspicious night...A key which he threw but she kept it without knowing the reason till she found one and then she returned it as that was no use for her , she had unlocked the door of his heart and now no one could dare to take her out not even him and that made him hurt her but got entangled more ...today she got the key to unlock herself with his help..

I am stopping here ...Pearls,anklet,key still don't leave me

a connection that has brought them all the way and unerringly to this moment.

in those pearls once her memories had come to him, plaguing him with thoughts he couldn't explain... and tonight , they lie there... his missive perhaps. his need to hear her, have her feel him, touch him, take charge of his heart... the diver who will plunge to the bottom of the ocean and find the most priceless thing deep in it, glowing in luminescent glory. pure, pristine, between hardened shells. 👏 ⭐️ Just explained above

a surreal world enclosed her and took her into a place she had never seen before, with barren trees, their dry lifeless branches crisscrossing and casting shadows everywhere, gossamer veils floated in thin air entangling with her fear, her worry, her sense of premonition... yes, they seemed to whisper, something is wrong, something..

khushi... his whisper floated... urgent, granular. she looked around growing even more frantic. where was he... and what was this... a key... mannat ki chabi. a flash of memory... she had picked up the key and gone running after him.

who was the key, who the lock? what door, what gateway did it open. was it one of the many gates to love... in religion there is an interesting concept of their being many gates to the eternal... is that true of love too... and is one of the gates, the most precious of all, called nafrat?

her hair flew wild as the winds grew strong. it was as if the gust of wind that had picked her hair aloft the day she had shimmered in red and he had not been able to look away, the wind that had told him she was here, somewhere here when he thought she was gone forever, that career of a feeling, a clear focused messenger of a mehsoos with the precision of a ring tone you set for a specific someone... it was as though that wind was going crazy trying to convey a message.

something is amiss... all is not well. as the tension in her being grew, a final sign, her payal... her mother's payal. what she wore hamesha. her symbol of forever... it had stayed back by the poolside one night to make him wonder, make him touch, feel, keep away in his hidden recesses that precious feeling which he told her he had not had at all the night of diwali.

the payal he slipped on her ankle, with a touch intimate and private, that had thrown her in disarray till desire had deftly caught it and made her feel what she never had... maybe she never knew even she could feel that.

the colours of the ocean surrounded her, but it was riven by harsh branches, howling winds.. why was she here. what was wrong.

arnav ji? arnav ji!

khushi... khushi ... khushi... he seemed to whisper her name everywhere... was he trying to reach her? khushi khushi...

had the gust of wind that had spoken of a feeling and started on the surface, touching skin, hair... had that reached the next level and entered a space within?

the river had taken another bend as it rushed to meet the ocean. a feeling had scaled and broken a barrier and was onto the next length of tits course.

till now they were in te same space so the need for another perhaps was not there... layered communications that seemed physical but always had undertow had strengthened a feeling.

now he was gone.

yet he sought her. from wherever he was. and she longed for him, her heart heard him, her being immersed in him. and if this had to happen in another reality... surreality... they were both willing to go there.

this is the premonition of a lover... the first step toward telepathy. months later he will tell her... you are always with me, even when you are far far away.

does this happen? i believe it does. if the feeling is real and we haven't spent too much time trying to find a name for it.

she had been feeling wretched about the way he left. then there was the complication of shyam and the papers. she would have to find the papers before he came back she had told herself... 😡

"kyun chale gaye... kya zaroorat thi jaane ki... ghar bhi toh aa sakte the... shyam ji ke baat sun sakte... phir unhe sara sach pata chal jata... aur woh hum par vishwas karte..."

why did he go away, what was the need, he could have come home, then he'd have known the whole truth... and he would have believed me...

never asked herself why it mattered so much that he should believe in her.

she is magan in her shyam, no time to ask why perhaps.

again tagore's bhanushingher padabali echoes, looking at her bereft state, her craving her extreme worry... her knowledge of her lover... she "knows" he is not alright. she just does... bas pata chal jata hai.

and in its unarticulated form this knowledge sets up a storm in her.

"bhara badar, mah bhadar, shunya mandir mor" the clouds fill the skies, it's the month of bhadr, and my temple is empty... a beautiful song whose words i will find and write here shortly... radha is missing and worrying for krishna, mother nature herself seems to be giving her areal hard time... radha is vyakul...

before that dream there was a khushi who couldn't think of anything but the man who had left without hearing the truth.

khushi says, nahin, i shouldn't lose hope so easily, he may still believe in me...

sanaya takes the lines and her loneliness and paints a picture of such poignancy with her voice and expression. she is as though nothing without him.⭐️

it's eleven pm.

her eyes fall on the empty chaise longue... he sleeps there... a memory in her being, hair stirred by the softest breeze and they are both running to claim it...

Her promise that way she did on the wedding night holding it , she won't let happen anything to it.

an entanglement by mangalsutra. she remembers the moment of feeling tied to him... and then her hand moves up to touch her mangalsutra. no matter under what circumstances it was thrust around her neck... this is the one she wanted to wear, and to her this was real, a sign of her commitment, a sign of her arnav ji and his presence in her life... she needs to hold him so badly right now.

her hand seeks him... the short simple mangalsutra and a natural gesture made a scene that might have been thickly serial melodrama into a beautiful scene with longing in its every corner.

she lies down missing him, remembering his last few moments with her, the hand he makes her leave...

missing him, clenching her fist, physically aching she courts sleep.

till his voice reaches her with just one call, dispeling fitful sleep... pulling her into the turmoil of love.

where are you? come back... she calls out to him in her dream.

khushi khushi khushiii... his whispers everywhere. calling her, needing her.

a wail rises, a storm, the breeze tears through the branches, ominous.

"arnav ji!" she shouts and wakes up.

she wakes up still confused. where are those things, where is he?

"kahan hain aap, arnav ji?"

premonition of a lover.

the rest of the episode went by. the whole ludicrous masala mama entry and mami in hysterics while it got going. i missed the man terribly. He said he will be around

even if he sat and read the papers it felt significant somehow.

and as khushi entered a space she never had before, i felt the need to feel happy about it. she had at last crossed every barrier put up by him and her, crossed all the seen and unseen fears and in her dream where we are true... walked into the woods that may scare her just to find him.. to be with him, to bring him back. on this bed where she slept alone, somehow she seemed to meet him and embrace him with all of herself. and a clear hint was given, she will go risk all to get him back where he belongs... to her. as she to him. she became his bride again somehow tonight.

Yes and that is also true in real life..separation also brings you closer than ever, makes you realize the importance of the other, what they mean to you...and she is a complete woman now, touched by her man in the darkness, made love to his voice, with pools of pain but met with his ETERNAL love which he wanted for so long...He made her to find him by all means

tonight
is the night.
it is the creation of that land of eternity.
it is not an ordinary night,
it is a wedding of those who seek unity.
tonight, the bride and groom
speak in one tongue.
tonight, the bridal chamber
is looking particularly bright.

~~~ rumi ~~~👏
Can't wait to read your take on 251 Faiqa.. Am behind on reading, but planning to catch up today.
Watched 256-257 earlier. Was very disturbed with the Khushi Shyam scenes.
She thought he would not eat the spicy dal and he did 😕 . And he in a towel in her room and she could do nothing about it. . know they are prolonging the drama. And I remember you had mentioned in one of your takes that since he is the damad and she the bahu she has to be a little mindful of things.. Wish they did not show the villain this omipresent omnipotent being.. ughh.. and wish they could show the girls more gutsy in Indian shows..
I think you read this earlier when I posted, but promised me a detailed comment later.. 😳
You feel it too? How he came out of nowhere, had no place in her commonplace life, rocked it and made her so much more than plain regular Khushi Kumari Gupta. In books and movies they often say that if girls are warned to not falls for dark devious handsome strangers they go ahead and do just that. Here no one really warned Khushi off. She went and did all the falling herself right from day one. This itself thrills me. And how he must have thrilled her.. the gadbad.. acidity.. way better than the movies she must have fantasized about to have it happen.. that too with this man.. in real life.. not expect to see him and he is right before her eyes.. even when he saved her devi maiya murti there was anger after.. fall unconscious and reach his strong safe arms.. every time he buckled his seatbelt there was the danger of being left stranded on the road.. his sorry could make her cry and smile at the same time.. okay am getting carried away.. uff..
That attraction that both felt. Even ASR. He had met so many fashionable, smart, intelligent even nice girls. Yet he did not even know this, but all his heart was waiting for was a very special brand of sanakapan.. Aaahh love.. makes me all starry eyed.. and seeing her this way.. who would say sanaya was only acting? some places she quite normal and then this.. heavenly.. ❤️
EPISODE Part 248-249
Game of Chess Begins...
A game of chess has been set in this episode and after a long time all the players have taken their positions. The king and the queen have arrived safely by holding their positions together one side,Bishop[Naniji] Loving and anchor Rook[Anjali] and Protective Knight[Payal] and outsider Rook Shyam away from other proving that he was in it just for his own purpose "iss main mera kya fayeda hoga..."..He doesn't care anyone but himself and Anjali is the bait in this whole process for Money ...
Shyam keeps his fixed eyes on Khushi after greeting her to make King and Khushi alert with his intentions but my grabber is Arnav's impassive face and unreadable eyes.He excused himself for finishing some work by giving side decisive look to Khushi.His strides with stiff body language does convey the message to Rook[Shyam[ that he finally has found the truth of him and Khushi but Shyam's confident shared look to Arnav made him more confident that his planted seed of doubt has grown up in Arnav's brain. Arnav's relentless and implacable look with his calm visage is throwing some danger in Khushi's spine but Shyam's calmness is giving him courage to make his soundless move But amazingly he doesn't know that this is a trap for him with poison meds.Arnav is leaving Khushi more vulnerable and Shyam's smirk shows he got his prey but he is forgetting Anjali's leaning forward position as compared to Naniji and Payal and Arnav's move to reach to his border as Arnav's move of warning has crossed limit... .
Shyam is indeed a lousy Rook...Their side to side positions show their moves clearly... Don't forget Payal is noticing that Khushi is uncomfortable in Shyam's presence.Anchor Rook and Protective Knight are ready for covering the position of Queen in the absence of King...Yes my chess is back...with Slithery moves in it...
Khushi s feelings are coming to the surface and it is becoming unbearable for her taking accusations by Arnav .His words are piercing her heart " hum seh nahin sakte keh wo humare bare main aisa sochain..." Her mind is in constant motion to find a solution to clear the air in between him and her by involving everyone but her heart again takes the clock of hiding it and keeping it to herself just to live up with her traits...She finds another lousy solution and ends up with Shyam who tries his slippery tongue to get honey but gets only bitterness in return with a straight slap that Arnav is the only man in her life..." jin se hum sab se ziyada..."...Her confession of love for Arnav will trigger his brain into some serious actions as always... lousy indeed. She could have gone to Payal or recorded some conversation or something..
This is a moment where we are seeing Shyam's true face who just worships money and that is the sole reason he married with Anjali."iss main humara kya fayeda hoga..."...just like he planted the seed of doubt in Arnav by using his extreme love for Khushi and "baby " which was his deal for Arnav ..., today he planted a seed of "guilt" in Khushi..."Arnav ko na him par bharosa hai aur na app par" by using Khushi's love for Arnav and "Will" as a deal with Khushi...This whole scene also indicates that Khushi will prove her innocence and it will be under Shyam's nose...by using his pawns...Brilliant Layout of this chess game...IPK is back... Yes he does only love money. In fact I was mentioning somewhere..lost track where with so many threads.. that I don't think Shyam even cares about Khushi anymore.. like in this scene he quite rude and mean to her.. When he stayed in gupta house atleast he would admire her beauty or smile at her antics or something.. now its mostly all about money. I think his ego won't let him leave Khushi. So he wants to attack the king and get the queen.
Shyam's Faith over his seeding plants is missing one big "REASON" for both of them[Khushi and Arnav] to fall in his lousy trap is lack of "Trust" in each other's love.Once they are on the other side of this broken bridge of TRUST , He[ Shyam] is done...Khushi who is Shyam's bait now will be the one who will check mate him at the end...as he already stamped on it .."Ye kaam aapke shubh haathon se ho tou acha hai..."
PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS:Here comes the REASON [Anjali]..because of whom, Arnav and Khushi took the same decisions after finding out the truth of Shyam and amazingly they both wanted to tell Anjali.They both stepped forward with the same intention, "to protect Anjali"...Khushi came but seeing Anjali's "atoot vishwas" [strong belief] and was blocked by DeviMaiya as her Manglasutre tore off and She preferred silence for Anjali's Faith and love for her husband.Other side Arnav couldn't tell Anjali because of her being a "mother "..of her Nanhi Khushi ...and who knows better than him as being an orphan.This WEAK reason "ANJALI AND HER BEILEFS" made both of them weak and Shyam took the advantage.But here is Arnav's words at the bridge,"why didn't you tell me or anyone about Shyam"...but did he do that by himself and ask Khushi? No...Similary his "tali ek haath se nahin bajti" ...he confronted Shyam but couldn't do it with Khushi having a fear of losing her.But did he try to think that what Khushi have explained might be true??? No he will not because his mind is just filled with Khushi's betrayal words"chod dijye Anjaliji ko.."..He won't believe her as he can't...
He will accept his mistake to Naniji later"main ne Khushi ki baat na maan kar galati ki...sirf Shyam se poocha"...He will find the connective Dots of Trust when Khushi will declare her love for him on Airport...But for a "STRONGER BELIEF and TRUST" on Khushi's words,he still need a bigger storm for him like the terrace one to come out of it and that is kidnapping...A "Fear" of losing her love just like the "fear" of knowing that she loves some one else and then the man of action will confess his love"I love u" without needing anything else..."mujhe aur khuch nahin chahiye Khushi..." and this "REASON" will be diminished as he doesn't need any reason to love her ,HE JUST DOES...and after kidnapping when Khushi will try to leave ...He will stop her for HIMSELF not for any other "REASON" or even his Di where she tries to leave for Anjali.."aur main Khushi"... ...his TRUST on his love will make him worship her and her wishes... 👏 loved this paragraph
Pause here: Arnav's "main achi tarah samjh sakta hoon kitna mushkil hota hai Mrs Arnav Singh Raizada ban ke jo paisa, aaram, aur shaan mil raha hai use jane daina..Koi "Pagal" hi hoga jo isse chod daiga..."
Khushi will leave his kingdom later and his 2 lakh bag and all will not be able to make him win her and later she does leave for Anjali with simply channas what he buys for her during his jogging as he learns by then Khushi's nanhi Khushi relies in him and a Rose just needs a Rose of deep love which resides in him and nothing much...Yes she is indeed a paagal...
Today epis states that they both don't remember when they fell in love and only remembered when it ended.They both fell in love completely at Diwali but for Khushi it ended at Diwali by her prince and in further installments every time when she started climbing in this love ladder as I explained in my 225 But for Arnav it was terrace night seeing her in Shyam's arms...but this is the paagal who will leave no stone to find him and to bring him to safety fighting against all odds of Shyam...and will leave for Anjali...later which in return will make him leave no stone to win her back.. I don't like when Arnav told Anjali he wasn't in love when he married. He had to explain his actions a bit better for Anjali to understand. would have perhaps helped her reconcile with Shyam's betrayal and also accept Khushi earlier than rakhi as well.
Today he threw all of her stars which is her wealth, her beliefs...
Pondering Connected Dots: The day under the Star , when Khushi found the truth of Shyam and clashed with Arnav , he asked million times "tum theek ho..." and got the REASON of her break down but look at the irony of his behavior today, he couldn't see or feel the bleeding heart of hers even after Amma sensed her behavior of talking too much...that scene was lovely..
Then the confrontation in the middle of the road , just like Shyam had with Khushi to prove his innocence that he was forced in the relationship with Anjali. Shyam said one right statement - "Humesha jo dikhta hai wohi sach nahin hai Khushiji". Same today when Khushi said to Arnav, " Zaroori nahin jo aap ne dekha wo sach ho..."
That day Khushi didn't believe Shyam and today Arnav didn't believe Khushi...Both are seeing things at different angles...Khushi found out Shyam's obsession of her and his fake story with his acts...and his true face made her to HATE him to the core of her heart.She showed Shyam her HATE on Terrace that night that even though he will divorce Anjali , she will prefer to die than to marry him.This was the actual truth which came out that night but ended up with darkness in her life.
On the other hand Arnav witnessed a completely different truth. He saw Khushi in Shyam's embrace and believed that. He saw Shyam's reality but couldn't witness the reality of Khushi and for that he needs another thunder of Fate and that will come from Shyam as this time after Anjali and Khushi , Arnav is his road block...towards his Khushi...AR and Wealth .BUT one thing is evident, Khushi's respect is snatched in both cases.Shyam disrespected her with his lust and Arnav tainted her calling her characterless.She slapped Shyam with hate and she took this slap from Arnav in Love.
The REASON of knotting Khushi and Arnav , Anjali Di sensed the tension and as usually tries to mend threads of this relation.She Halts Arnav from changing his shirt and tells him that Khushi will stitch the button .Khushi, hesitantly with heavy heart steps towards him.The day she left for GH , She left the chirpiness of her childhood in RM ..
PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS:that was the last day as I explained it because Arnav said to her ,"she acts not less than Babli"...But he wasn't aware of just like now, there is a mature and sensitive woman in her who just wants his attention, love, and respect and above all TRUST.At the samw He loves her chirpy side which diminishes his pain..."tumhare saath bitae huwe pal..." and all the dhamakas which he will adore later and will act as a child for her to just bring a SMILE on her face...
His pretense continues till Anjali goes out of the room.My grabber is His stiff body doesn't move as he is weak in front of her.He fears to lose his control if he will move and that exactly happens when he moves after saying "Di jaa chuki hai...tumhain yeh drama karne ki koi zroorat nahi..." [u don't have to drama as di has gone]...Needle pierces in her finger when he walks away making this comment...She hisses in pain and his concerned side takes over.."Khushi! ..I am sorry.." Yes he Hates her...His heart yearns to hold her feeling her hankering to be close to him , to cry her heart over her shoulder as she always does in her distress and he is always there to hold her and protects her from falling and feeling so low...Yes he hates her but wants to have her close , close to her essence , close to her heart keeping her near to his heart...which only beats for her in a same rhythm .convulses in her pain by piercing pain in his...but he hates her... beautiful. Sanaya and Barun were very nice in this scene and so is your description
Khushi in her shaky voice with bleeding heart and finger yet keeping her firm fingers on the THREAD...,"Dhaaga humein zabasdasti thaamna para.. Humari marzi nahi thi.. Par ab jo thaam liya hai toh...". [I didn't had intentions to be knotted in this but if it happened then be it]...A promising and clear statement , she won't let it lose or break no matter how much she gets bleeded or hurt in this way of Love and Trust .He stands numb with this "kiss mitti ki bani hai ye" ...[What kind of a girk is she?]...He called her characterless,threw her Stars, her beliefs,her reasons of survival , dragged her relentlessly, broke her hope of a promising relationship by breaking the frame of em and now seeing her holding the thread of that HOPE tying em together.This is his wife , his half part ,his reason of survival standing so close in tears and heavy heart but he hates her ...standing there mesmerized and hypnotized by her innocent beauty ,having urge to hide her in his protective shell but he has to hate her, has to create a rift no matter what and keeping the cloak of pretense that "nothing matters to him".."She means nothing to him..."... haha its not love if it is not a bit stupid.
PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS: She picked up the button just like she picked up the key on Dargha...that day she ran to tell him...what he did was wrong and no one can connect thread with anything other than Bhagwaan...today she is picking up button and telling him by reminding him...She didn't plan anything but if Fate has brought us together then She is in with full Faith and Love...and is willing to do whatever it will take to keep it knotted...and she knotted the Dhaga on Teej by and he is the one who broke her fast and dropped the sindoor...That day this Dhaga was tied by opening the lock of his heart and now she is threading that with him by reminding him that he also has this obligation and this is not a joke for her ...BUT at the same time we have so many threads joining that day,just like others' relations depend on these two...including the ULJHA huwa rishta of Anjali and SHyam...which is making their relation as complicated as it could be...
They both are feeling this yearning and need to hold on to each other just like every time in pain...in distress...but fate has something else stored in it...She comes close to snap the thread and this time he lets her without moving or stopping her.An intimacy which they both are aspiring for is their longing right now and they let it by keeping the rhythm of their nearness...by inhaling each other's essence.Her face is kissing the corner of his neck...and he gets frozen just her touch and just soft gazes caress her face and he can't offer much today...because this is his fate and he is accepting it but she got the strength from her again by her looseness just like the day of their marriage by holding her hand...and then that strength makes him to deject himself by putting his vest as he is wearing the disappearing cloak of his guards...just to ignore her melodious voice filled with plea...because he can't take it any more ...as he has no energy..to face her...
lovely edit
PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS: After disclosing of her engagement , she never knew the extend of his pain...today she is feeling the same but his pain is not less either...
Very nice take Faiqa.. Completely agree with you about Shyam's motives. And I did not like Khushi approaching him. I know she was desparate but she should have known he would not help her for free. And I really enjoyed all your lines on the man who wants hates but cannot help but love.
Arnav coming to know of her engagement, and then when Khushi came to know Shyam's truth and went to Arnav unknowingly.. such beautifully scripted enacted scenes.. Thank you for this walk down memory lane..
episode 255
a tight brief, which doesn't give you everything you want often produces the best of things. it creates necessity... the thing that stokes the thinking, the imagination and gives birth to something new, beautiful. a thing born to serve a purpose but sometimes far exceeding its need it becomes a want... a desire... like this enchanting set piece in the middle of the everyday, the ordinary, in an episode of a serial.
had barun not gone away for a bit. had there not been panic about how to keep the show going with the hero not around. had there not been a need to keep the love story alive. had there been no hair tearing about the famous chemistry gone missing. had there not been heads wondering if they'd roll in case trp went down.
but there had been all of that. and show had to go on. writers had to create "tracks" that worked. their only key, the female lead... asr had already acknowledged to himself his feelings for khushi, but writers had still not worked out khushi's realisattion. i've heard ved raj mention this and how challenging it was to find the right moment and method for this.
the hero is not there. he cannot be interacted with in the "real" world. perhaps that was the gate through which they neatly stepped into another space, a bit of surreality, the sphere of imagination. kidnap is drizzled with dreams, reveries, telepathy, spaces where the imagination goes and claims real estate... beyond the restrictions and barriers of the three dimensions. in a thought world, sometimes far more potent than the "things" world.
two episodes back khushi had dreamed of him and had a lover's premonition. she ran frantically in search of the man she loved, becoming his woman while he was far away. maybe he heard her? maybe he called her?
today something inanimate yet always a part of her emotions, a sign of her in fact, a little orange swirl, crunchy outside, soft and sweet inside, her jalebi, it took her straight to him and her longing, her memory, her first declaration of love... she made it to herself. because it was she who needed to know it maybe, before she could tell anyone else.
and perhaps the most lovely and enduring and insightful soliloquy i have ever heard in a serial, i got to hear... the first time, i remember feeling dumbstruck, how beautiful sanaya's voice, the pace, the afternoon light, the tumble of memories, the exquisite words one leading to the next and then the talking to hawaein. just a touch of sixties' filminess, and a forlorn, filmi girl's tete a tete with an emotion, in her way. not cutesy, more romantic heroine in feel.
she had said baat aapki hai to him at the airport but without pondering as to why, it had come rushing out of her when she could find no way of convincing him. but today she entered that feeling.
the realisation is massive, its language had to be different from the chal khushi chal sort of inner chats she has. the story of asr and khushi started on a strange evening, in these months they have moved from the first meeting, always significant in a major love saga, through many layers to the heart level. to dhadkan, to saans. but the story continues deeper... maybe to soul, to our astral being, to an aspect of the human beyond the material. and that is possible only in a different space. in a different metre. in a different rhythm.
khushi is missing asr constantly and very badly, it's wearing her down. she feels distracted. the loss of the papers worries her further. she wants him back... but he is not there.
after a long time we see her making her jalebis. you almost feel relief for her. she is trying not to think of him... the memory of that beautful first meeting comes by... and then the dreadful last one.
"kuch toh kahin galat hai..." something is wrong somewhere... something is not adding up... why would he message her and not di... an uncanny sense of mishap, she worries.
the mountains of jalebi reach the table. once way back she had been worried and made "arnav" jalebi... that was then, the still light and fun filled days of ipk with its entrancing and hot nok jhoks. but now the jalebis will take us to another world... she has made the whole lot with less sugar for her sugar free man. he is not here.
naturally a bit of leg pulling ensues, and the girl who can handle such things quite easily, just can't take it and runs away to her room... where she feels his presence and his absence both
in nani's words we are told that she is in a different mind state... her memories bother her... unhen chhotey ki yaad satawat hai.
and khushi runs to her room, locks the door, weeps remembering the man she had fed jalebi to one day... her mate, whom she did hate. she goes to the cupboard and something catches something, next thing, pearls are dropping and tuhi bata mere maula fades in...
this nudging of emotion, memory by inanimate objects was always interesting in ipk. how adept her dupatta at talking to him, reaching him. now it's pearls and jalebi that talk to her, guide her to her feelings.
that very first time, he'd snapped the dori, she recalls.
kuch rishte ajeeb hi dor mein bandhe hote hai...
some relationships are tied with the strangest of threads... starts the soliloquy in sanaya's impeccable, strong yet rich with emotion delivery. yes, the snapping of dori was actually the tying of a thread... which brought them together instead of tearing them asunder. ajeeb it was... strange... as things in life often are.
takrar se shuru hotey hain... starts with a clash. he slaps money into her palm and turns away with a sardonic smile, amused she'd dared to tell asr that she'd pay for something...
with every line the memories pour and drench... in the guest house he slams her against a drum, in the rain he comes running and saves her.
some relationships are tied by a strange string
they start with a clash... they grow in the shade of hatred...
they fall, they crash, but they remain
the hatred keeps on growing and the knot
becomes even more firm
so much... that one day even hate shies away
from growing any more... and that relationship remains
only as a tie... but only of hatred.
sometimes it feels as if in this realm of hatred
there's something that says to me
this unheard, unknown, unspoken feeling
give it but a chance...
but a relationship whose cornerstone is hatred
to expect anything of it
wouldn't it be naivety and nothing else
perhaps this naivety i did act with
otherwise why despite so much hatred
i think of you...
why do i fight and quarrel with you
yet after you leave i look longingly for your return
speak to the winds of you...
even in a bad translation there is power in those words.
why, indeed, do such relationships not end not break...
the memories touch points of pain and connection, he is pulling her, he is dragging her into the temple, he is marrying her... and as she droops slowly, staring at the poolside where so much has transpired, where the winds possibly know him so she chats with them... this ethereal journey to the land of imagination unfolds
the four layers of: sanaya, her voice, tuhi bata, flashbacks and yes that emptiness, worked so well to paint an evocative canvas.
shyam and the daal sequence mirrored that lovely asr eating hot daal just to show her scene. now shyam in a distorted reflection of it. disgusting. was there really any need to up the lascivious lechery aspect appealing to our sense of the sordid because they feared the appeal to our yearning for romance would be affected during this time.
well the brief was tight, sometimes, pretty bad creative ideas seem to come of it too.
there was a sweet scene at the beginning where khushi talks to shiv about keeping asr safe, etc., then requests him not to tell dm that she spoke to him... i mean dm might take it to heart and khushi can't afford that.. a need to call out to the deities ti protect hers, her saans is in this one after all.
i wrote this on facebook today, quite overwhelmed by the scene, thought i'd leave it here too.
ipk 3 anniversary month still on. i wanted to just sigh over the beautiful writing and delivery by a lovely inward sounding voice. i have no idea who actually wrote the "shayad yeh nadani" soliloquy of khushi's. what i do know is you rarely get such depth of thought and words on telly. not in a serial certainly. falling in love and romance are not arcane niche things, there's loads of writing on this... naturally to find what stands out is tough. so many things start sounding the same. here there was a brief to writer i think to establish love including the feeling of falling in it without using the word love... also to say it all using nafrat, the feeling clearly identified by the speaker. hate is akin to love, ha, mills and boon stuff, right... so how come these guys took it to this classic level. no hesitation, no yikes i will regret this later, but this is fantastic writing.
and sanaya irani, such flawless delivery. hits the insides makes you want to feel exactly those feelings. whoever directed her for this one... arshad k or lalit m... may jalebis rain on you all your life.
soliloquy brings back college and deep consternation... couldn't understand a thing most times. this one could understand and not understand too ha ha... too good.
kuch rishte ajeeb hi dor mein bandhe hote hai...
takrar se shuru hote hai... nafrat ke saaye mein panapte hai...
girte hai padte hai lekin qayam rehte hai
nafrat badti jati hai aur rishte ki gaath
aur gheri hoti jaati hai...
itni... ki ek din nafrat bhi aur barne se
sharma jati hai... aur woh rishta
sirf ek bandhan ban ke
reh jati hai...lekin sirf nafrat ka.
kabhi kabhi aisa lagta hai jaise
nafrat ke iss mahaul mein kuch toh hai...
jo humse kehta hai ki...
iss ansuni... aanjani si... ankahe se ehsaas ko
ek mauqa toh do...
par jis rishte ki neev hi nafrat par rakhi hui ho
usse kuchh bhi umeed lagana
nadani nahin toh kya hota hai?
aur shayad yeh nadani hum kar baithe
warna kyun itne nafrat ke bawajud
hume aap ki yaad aa rahi hai?
kyun hum aap se ladte hain, jhagadte hain...
lekin apke jaane ke baad aap hi ki raah dekhte hain...
hawao se baatein karte hain.
just saw the episode again and was floored. hawao se baatein... uff.
