Just like any normal Hindi Bollywood "big budget film" we now get to see such "big budget films" made in Bhojpuri. Previously some lacs of rupees were involved in making a Bhojpuri film. Now the plight is very different. With an increased base of Bhojpuri audiences, now the Bhojpuri films have a budget of crores. The topics, the script, the screenplay of Bhojpuri films have become broad and modern. Audiences now enjoy watching these Bhojpuri films. The productions of these films are happening on a broad base. There was a time when these Bhojpuri films were only shot in states like UP and Bihar. But now these films are shot in the air condition studios in Mumbai city. Some Bhojpuri films have their shooting planned in foreign lands too. Producer Mehmood Ali's new Bhojpuri film BABUL PYAARE made under the banner of 'Pen and Camera International' and under the direction of Rajesh Bhatt has most of its shoot planned in London. It is a total of 22-day slot planned shoot that practically took place in London.
BABUL PYAARE is a story of a husband and a son-in-law Gopi [Ravi Kissen], story of a wife and a daughter Radha [Hrishita Bhatt] and a father Rajveer Singh [Raj Babbar]. Gopi on one hand is a person who though being in London will never forget his country and his culture. He would follow his culture in London too. But Radha on the other hand is one daughter who has nothing in her life except for her father. She has too air's about her father and his status.
With direction of films like 'Nazar', 'Bazaar' and 'Kaun Hai Jo Sapno Mein Aaya', director Rajesh Bhatt now enters Bhojpuri film direction with BABUL PYAARE. When asked the reason to get into Bhojpuri films, Rajesh Bhatt said, "Today Bhojpuri film Industry is running parallel to the South film Industry. Bhojpuri films are running fine in the new era. It is the golden period going on for Bhojpuri films. On one hand where Hindi films are moving in the direction of lots of exposure and sex appeal, we have Bhojpuri films on the other hand that is taking care to see that the culture of the society is well maintained and that the audiences are also getting a lot of entertainment from the film. Thus to get into something that is pure, interesting, entertaining and also challenging I thought of diverting myself towards Bhojpuri films. I always wanted to associate myself to such meaningful and pure films. So I thought of making a Bhojpuri one." Rajesh Bhatt further said, "BABUL PYAARE is the first Bhojpuri film that is shot in London. We have done a complete 22-day slot shooting in London. Along with the film we are also trying to promote the Bhojpuri culture. I always wanted to make a film that is for the entire family entertainment. One song of the film 'Ee Gora Logan, hum par raj karela bani… ab hum inke dil par raj karenge Hindustani…' London mein UP ke thumke lagake, bihari dhun mein gaake sabko naach nachaib…' helps us showing up the culture of Bhojpuri in the film."
The producer of this film is writer Mehmood Ali. This is his first Bhojpuri venture as a producer. Mehmood Ali himself gives the script and the screenplay of the film. He said, BABUL PYAARE is the first Bhojpuri film that is being shot in London. This is also the first time when the most famous and the well-known dance director Saroj Khan is choreographing the dance sequences of the film. The songs are picturized both in India as well as in London. In London, dance director Saroj Khan, made a good and a quality utilization of the foreign dancers. Saroj Khan has also made the use of different vehicles right from the rich Limousine to an open bus, a cycle, a rickshaw, a horse cart and others. The production value of the film has been increased with all the valuable creations done by her in the songs. We have captured such beautiful locations and such scenes that Bhojpuri audiences only used to dream about.
There have been many films that have been shot in London. But one must have never seen an Indian Flag [Tiranga] being hoisted at the Trafalgar Square that is in the central London. After the shoot and this particular scene, the entire unit happen to hoist the Indian Flag with a lot of pride and pleasure at the same place and that too exactly on the 15th of August, when even India was celebrating the occasion of Free India i.e. Independence day. Not only the Indians residing there, but also the foreigners participated in the very occasion being celebrated over there. Even the non-Indians had tears of happiness and pleasure in their eyes seeing the happy feeling of freedom on the faces of we Indians.
Well Known film star Raj Babbar is also showing up for the first time in a Bhojpuri film. Also actress Hrishita Bhatt is doing her first Bhojpuri film with BABUL PYAARE. Ravi Kissen, a very famous Bhojpuri actor is showing up in a different style altogether. Ravi Kissen has been one famous and well-known name associated with the Bhojpuri films.
