I found yesterday's episode gripping -- barring some rude interruptions.
The first was the bond between Ansh: Anandi acting as his shield and he vowing to protect her. They did this so effortlessly without making a production of it.
From Anandi stopping the footwear missile to Shiv saying "nothing will happen to her because I'm there for her" to Anandi driving him for his inquiry, they were equal and well matched in every respect, every step of the way.
Initially I did not take to Toral but over time the couple has grown on me. They are superb in the way they communicate.
The second was: Shiv and the family deciding they would face the inquiry without the usual invocations to godly beings. Shiv's "I'm right therefore I will face any inquiry, any trial in any court" was endorsed unreservedly by the family.
They stood by him in his hour of need, and wished him the very best as he stepped out with Anandi. But there were no theatrics; no wiping away tears, no hurried and panicky prayers. Nobody offered him "dahi chini" for good omen..
Nobody said it -- and that is the beauty of it -- but the message was that Shiv didn't need a good omen or other artificial props when he had done no wrong, and he had never been anything but honest and truthful all his career.
Of course, while I love the dignified way in which his family handled the crisis, I do wonder how he will prove himself before the committee, especially given that his staff had witnessed the alleged molestation attempt.
