Episode begins with Krishna telling Arjun that in reality, karma doesn't bind people, it is the hopes attached to that karma that binds them. Arjun asks why this is? Krishna uses the example of war - if he hopes to win the war, then he will be greatly upset if he loses it. That sorrow will cause him to do something that will require him to be born again. If he wins then his arrogance will grow and cause him pain and sin. Krishna tells Arjun that his confusion and pain are not due to the war itself, but to the hopes that he has associated with the war.
tato yuddhaya yujyasva nai avam papam avapsyasi
Arjun asks Krishna whether it is better to take sanyaas since attachment is linked with karma. Krishna warns him that this very thought has led to this war. Krishna says when good people forsake their duty, then it is the evil ones who take over the jobs, such was the case with Bhishma and Pandu. Krishna tells Arjun that a true karma yogi renounces the hopes of reward from their duties but does not give up carrying out the duties themselves. He also holds no attachment of hopes with his children or loved ones. Arjun is confused as says that people work hard for their children, how can they not hope for happiness for them? Krishna says when doing work out of love, nobody should be worried about the fruits of that work.
Krishna goes on to tell Arjun that the universe is Parmatama, and people are a part of Parmatama, then all duties are carried out by Parmatama, people themselves do nothing. Krishna tells Arjun he must become a karma yogi.

Krishna tells Arjun that he has the right to carry out his duties, but he isn't entitled to the rewards of the actions he carries out. Arjun asks how we can recognise a karma yogi who carries out his duties without holding attachment to reward.
Vishayaa vinivarthanthe niraahaarasya dehinah/ Rasavarjyam rasoapyasya param drushtvaa nivarthathe
Krishna says that when one gives up food to be free from the greed of taste, in reality he never knows taste. He becomes weak and isn't able to carry out tasks to bring him closer to Parmatama. It is better to give up this greed rather than give up food. A true karma yogi treats life as a duty and carries out these duties but doesn't get attached to them. A person who doesn't attach rewards and outcomes to a task, it is this person who completes his tasks properly. A karma yogi is one whose mind isn't weakened after one failure and who doesn't consider himself as supreme after one success.
dhyayato vishayan pumsah sangas teshupajayate
sangat sanjayate kamah kamat krodho bhijayate
Krishna says that when people consider the fruits of their actions, they develop attachment which leads to lust/kamna. It is the nature of lust to always remain unsatisfied, from which anger develops. This results in knowledge being destroyed and people carrying out wrongdoings.
Arjun asks Krishna what is the path to becoming a karma yogi? Krishna says this is done by bhakti. It is through bhakti that people realise truth from lies, and this allows them to see Parmatama, and become free from rebirths. Arjun asks how he can surrender himself without seeing Parmatama? Krishna says to see Parmatama you must free your eyes from greed and anger. Krishna tells him that the universe itself is Parmatama, Parmatama is everything.
Arjun considers Krishna's words and then realises! He tells Krishna that Krishna too must be Parmatama đł Krishna smiles and nods and says yes he is Parmatama, just like you are also but you haven't realised it yet. Arjun asks whether his surrender to Krishna cannot be the same as surrendering to God. Krishna says of course it can, surrendering to me is equal to surrendering to Parmatama. đ

Krishna tells Arjun to give up worldly attachments and seek refuge under Krishna. Krishna says he is the universe, the sun the moon, older than the sun, newer than the fresh leaves on a tree. He says I am everyone, I am the power that holds up heaven and hell. I am Duryodhan and I am Arjun. Arjun asks how this is possible, since he is in human form and his mother who gave birth to him is still alive. Krishna says you are only considering this birth of mine, whereas I have taken many births on Earth, with many different bodies. Krishna says in the future too I will keep being reborn.

Krishna says that whenever dharma is in danger, whenever adharma becomes too strong, he will take a birth in each yug to save mankind. Krishna says he was Matsya, he was Vaman, Parshuram and Ramachandra. He is Brahma Vishnu Mahesh alongside Saraswati, Kali and Lakshmi, I am everything yet I am nothing.
Precap: Arjun bows to Krishna and asks to see him in his true form. Krishna says behold...and we're shown Krishna's Vishwaroop.
