So what would have been really right acc to you? She should have rather sat helplessly wallowing in self-pity and let her kids die of starvation... or rather should have begged with others to take her responsibility or even compromised on her integrity by being with the men who wanted to prey on her?

In this traditionally a male-dominated society why is it when a woman adorns a garb of the likes of Tulsi-Parvati she's idealized but when the same woman challenges the society to hold her head high in time of crisis and refuse to depend on others who might have ulterior motives or may pity her becomes irritating and blotch worthy? Strange we have no issues when larger than life characters of stereotyped Bahus defies any logic but we object when a woman takes charge of her own life and destiny!

In my opinion television being a strong medium when picks topics like these and present woman in avatars and roles greater than being an ideal and self-sacrificing Bahu or Beti they are sending out a strong message of change and ideologies and are needed to be encouraged. This post reminds me of the scene on the show where a stone is hurled on Ratan when she takes charge as a sarpanch or rather a much real incident when recently a female lady conductor is abused brutally by a commuter just because she reprimanded him from breaking the code of boarding the bus from the back entrance!

Disappointing! Stereotyping woman surely doesn't take our society any further nor will it provide any relief from the growing crimes against womanhood across this globe. My request, if you can't appreciate... be sensitive!

Exactly... Tulsi - Parvati - Prerna - Archana r adored for their cries and OTT characters. But when someone tries to show a strong character which we can relate with real life and should admire... People think its irritating...
😳
I like Ratan for being strong, independent, smart, wise , logical and loyal...

I agree!
What is Ratan supposed to do? She can't just stand there and watch it happen without trying to fix it.
The issue is that viewers want to see romance and that's it...They don't want to see real life and when Ratan or Veera or anyone get in the way of Ranjan romance people think it is irritating...
I don't know what anyone else bu tI like to watch shows that teach you something more that romance...

Correctly said... Viewers like cheesy romance, one vamp who tries to snatch hero, beyond imagination types heroine, good looking hero , hate - love stories where spineless girl falls for AYM kind of guy ... Who insults women, hates them, ... But ofte there were incidents were girl falls in his arms and long stupid eyelocks...
Only Love story is required... Rest is all crap for viewers..

I prefer shows nd characters which can relate to real life.
I am sure people would have loved Ratan if would have got married to nihal Singh...

@ek_arzoo Not true. People want to be entertained and romance is the easiest way to entertain people.

but If a GOOD story with GOOD execution is brought people will watch it even without romance. The new show on SP, the Sanjeeda one, is being appreciated for its content and people are actually saying they don't want a love track in the show so soon.
They want Durga to remain focused on the revenge.

Veera on the other hand has nothing to boast of except for VeeBa and RanJan romance. Without them an already intolerable show will become even more intolerable. 🤢

The bro-sis don't even look like siblings. They have ZERO chemistry. 🤢. They are extremely boring.

But the pre-leap Veera was appreciated even though there was hardly any romance in the show then.

It's all about entertainment 😊

Ok, sorry to those who got hurt... I had actually not thought so deep or so seriously 😕 Neither was I hinting at any empowerment (or lack of it) issues - it never once was in my mind😳 So I just would say I am not such who would want to make the woman suffer and stuff... It was just a casual remark of a viewer who liked or disliked something at the face of it... And neither am I wanting to start the age old debate of men vs women and their equality and all... I never really get so serious with a show and just take it easy... There are a thousand other ways to empower women, and if this is the most apt or most effective one, then they are most welcome to use it for the same... For me, I just find it funny at times, and irritating at some other times to see Ratan riding a tractor - and this just as it is shown - with no baggage of her symbolic empowerment and all... If it cant be just laughed off, then I again am sorry to the ones who got hurt... 😊

On a serious note , I like sensible shows and I hate mahanthas . The show is lacking terribly in that with an extremely dumb male lead character .

See for example Ranvi was getting hyper when he was forced to stay at home telling how will everything work out .

If he has even little ounce of brains, he wud have been worried and he would have called Ratan/Veera to check if they reached safe and everything is under control . But here he is busy with watching tv and eating kulfi and cooking .

I would have loved if Ratan was retained as the strong lady . But nowadays she hardly has a voice ...It is all veera veera veera

And only thing which attracts me to the show is Baldev .

I don't appreciate this post because it is questioning Ratan's right to be a sarpanch, to ride a tractor and to plough fields?? Is this because she is a women?? Is there any other reason for this objection? This is sexist. She can do all those things and more power to her for doing them!

When her husband cheated on her and then left town, she didn't become a victim and just become another Abala Nari. She rebuilt her life. Today she occupies the seat that her husband used to. She has come full circle!! Hats off to her, and hats off to the makers for making her into a strong female and not some lame one!!

As for RANJAN romance and her getting in the way? Ratan's factory is not getting in the way of RANJAN romance. There is a lot more to life than doing Ghissa pitta romance with your husband. I THANK anyone that gets between RANJAN romance coz it is SO damned boring. Ratan never got in their way, but if she did, she deserves a price, for putting an end to the most dragged out and meaningless romance scenes I have seen in a long time.

I also agree with the above post that if Ranvi had half a brain, he would have checked to see if his mum and sister and the rest of the ladies got to the mela on time and safely? He was all geared up to go with them, when his wife's fake dream stopped him. Then suddenly he is too busy doing stupid romance to remember that he was made to stay at home against his will, and he was concerned for the ladies going to the mela on their own!! Finally he gets a call from Mum and THEN he mobilises himself!!

All I had to say to the RANJAN romance from last week is W*F??
