In their get rich quick mission they indulge into everything that includes, selling pirated films, illegal antiques, rented properties and even getting the best seats at the World Cup. Despite doing all these, Rikki doesn't believe in calling himself a crook. He has no fixed address but is always on the move with Huffy Bhai. The flamboyant Rikki falls in love with his dream girl Anaida when the legendary love-birds Princess Diana and Dodi were leaving The Ritz for the last time... And then like sparkling magic, as Rikki says, "when two lovers die, another two are born"... they dance... they sing... they're in love!" Preity Zinta as Alvira Khan - As a small child Alvira had taken an oath that she would never marry a brown skinned desi but marry only a gora. Now 20 years later, Alvira has turned into a typical Pakistani Brit. She hates to acknowledge her Pakistani origins. She now works as a Manager at the House of Frasers and hates desis from Southhall. She has fallen in love with Steve who once saved her life. Bobby Deol as Steve Singh - Born to a British Mum and Punjabi Dad, Steve is a suave, classy and a chivalrous gentleman. He is very rich and has a palace that resembles Mandrake's Xanadu which he doubles up as his office. He is Alvira's perfect knight in shining armour. Lara Dutta as Anaida Raza - Anaida Raza has been brought up in Paris as a no-nonsense, rooted and razor-sharp woman. She works as an Assistant Manager at The Ritz Hotel. From the moment she picked up Rikki's fallen handkerchief to hand it over to him, she fell in love with him having no idea that it was all a part of a trap set by him to make her fall for him. Synopsis Rikki (Abhishek Bachchan) meets Alvira (Preity) at the Birmingham station waiting for their respective partners, Anaida (Lara) and Steve (Bobby). With two hours of time to kill, both end up sharing a lot of things between them, including how they met their respective fiancs. Both start enjoying each other's company and get head over heels attracted to each other! This brief encounter creates further complications and a love rectangle of sorts. What follow next is their attempts in warding off their magnetism for each other and what funny complications all their efforts lead to. How it affects their respective partners and how it all turns out to be one joy ride for all involved is what the film is all about. |
