An effort to deliver quality, meaningful content with superior performance
The 5 day weekly serial Virruddh is in news due to its low "TRP" and also that if it does not pick up soon it may go off air. This is rather a sad situation for the viewers. The regular TV audience have got so used to watch "K" and "K-Type" Serials they have lost their ability to appreciate quality content.
I have nothing against K or K type serial but lack of appreciation for a good work is definitely alarming. Sadly if we stop appreciating new efforts, new experiments and good work then we will be served only Bhelpuri for 3 meals every day, week after week and year after year and finally leaps after leaps.
So what is that makes Virruddh different from other serials.
This is my personal observation and opinion.

It has a definite storyline and it moves very fast. |

| In spite of all difficulties and TRP criticism the production has stuck to the pattern. The story began and is moving in a definite direction. | Serials begin very well but only to get into the black hole of leaps, plastic surgery, multiple marriages, extra marital affair, goody turning suddenly to baddy, revenge for unknown reasons and issue that solve. |
| It is a treat to watch Vikram Ghokhle, Govind Namdev, Sushant Singh, Apara Mehta and Smiriti Irani together in this serial.
Mihika Verma is raw is looks very put of place. She is lucky to be part of this project. Vedant (Character's Name) is promising.

| No over the top acting, Irrelevant Puja ceremonies at wrong time of the year, Gayatri Mahtra is Kali Puja and so on.

| Issues get resolved and are not stretched to the hilt | Issue should never get resolved and the Baddy should never give up. |
| Camera Work / Editing : ----------------------------- Dramatic scenes are not stretched "using 3 camera throws" (I don't know what is it called technically) for every character.
The actors of Virruddh do the 3 minutes act in single expression without self talking. | If there are 5 character in the scene then see this maths:
4 seconds per person 3 times hence 12 seconds multiplied by 5. So for 60 seconds nothing needs to be done. Like this there can be 2-4 events in one episode. So in 20 minutes content 4 minutes are covered. Then off corse you have background songs, Bhajans, People talking to themselves in Stone expressions or simply rolling their eyes.
Primarily this is done because characters can't emote and 3 throws are done to kills time with some irrelevant "Mantra" and loud music. |
Vikram Ghokhle
What these other actors can't do in 3 minutes with 3 camera angles with loud music and over the top dialogues o self this actor does in 30 seconds. His expression, acting is SUPERB. There I no match.
Govind Namdev
Many times I have felt this person acts from his voice. His voice modulation. Tone is so perfect according to the role. One of the best BADMAN's who lok realistic without any "OTT", over the top getups.
Sushant Singh
A sensible actor has whatever he has done so far is worth appreciating. Be it Bhagat Singh, 16 December, Shikhar or other movies.
Apara Mehta
Proven credit in acting and jells beautifully in the team and in her role.
Truly there theatre skills reflect in their performance.
Smriti Irani
She looks good in her role (30 Years, no makeup, over weight, mature women) looks very realistic.
Zareena W Pancholi:
She need not even speak a single dialogue to do her role. She acts through her eyes. (Note:
In other serial by now she would be talking to herself and later she will actually found to be only faking as mentally, emotionally upset women or Apara will have some hidden agenda as perhaps sushant will be DRS's son. )
Achint Kaur:
She gave excellent facial expressions in week 4 episodes of May. Never thought of this hidden talent in her in all her other serial roles. He too has become VAMP Replacement Specialist
Would appreciate all other actors as well. Though Mohan Bhandari is wasted. Chetan Hansraj's looks same in all roles.
The difficult job of actors since they have to actually emote and act in every serial, screenplay writers have to write lot of dialogues, lot of scenes.
Set, Costume, Camera Work, Background Score: All great.
Perhaps this is the first serial where I have actually understood the layout of the house of DRS (Dhirendra Rai Sionghania). Specially the angle where the camera moves from hall to first floor room, we can actually feel the scene.
It is a pity that this type of star cast has to struggle for TRP against people WHO JUST CAN'T EMOTE. I don't want to name but 90% of the TV actors can't emote and can't act. They are not even actors they are workers in TV SERIAL FACTORY.
So friends I request all of you must watch this great show. I would really love to mail this to Smritri and her team but I don't know how to get her. Someone please do it for me.
