EK ANOKHI KAHAANI - PART 36

Varad was talking to Rahul on the phone. Sojal sat beside him listening curiously.

"... So what do you think Rahul? Did Shlok say anything to you?" asked Varad.

"No Dada... But though he didn't say anything, it is quite clear that he loves Aastha!" replied Rahul.

"How can you be so sure?"

"Dada, except Shlok, everyone in the office knows this!! It is the new topic for gossip in the office!"

"Oh is it?"

"Yes Dada, and today was the height! Shlok held Aastha's hand in front of everyone in the office and took her along with him!"

Varad laughed. "Oh my God!" he said. "Okay, now we need to make Shlok realise his feelings for Aastha!"

"Yes Dada! You are right!"

"Don't worry... I will go and search for Aastha!" said Shlok as he hurried towards his car.

"Rukiye Shlok!" said Avdhoot, "I too will come along!"

"Okay!" said Shlok as he unlocked the car.

Avdhoot and Shlok were about to get in the car when Avdhoot's phone began ringing. "It's Aastha!!" he said with joy as he saw the number. He quickly picked up the phone as Shlok and Kalindi listened curiously.

"Hello... Aastha where are you beta?!!... Hello?!! Aastha?!!!... I am unable to hear your voice!!... Hello?!!... Are you alright Aastha?... Hello!!" and the call was disconnected.

Avdhoot's heart was beating fast. He dialled Aastha's number again but was disappointed to hear the engage tone.

"Is she alright?! What did she say?!!" asked Kalindi desperately. Seeing Avdhoot's worried face, she could sense something was wrong. Shlok too waited anxiously for Avdhoot's reply.

"I couldn't hear her voice! Probably there is some problem in the network!" Though he said this, he wasn't sure. Being the father of a young and beautiful girl, several horrifying thoughts flooded into his mind. A wave of shiver passed through his body as he thought of what could happen to Aastha. He again tried to call Aastha but in vain.

Kalindi was very worried. Her eyes watered. She just prayed that Aastha be safe and sound.

Anjali still couldn't believe whatever had happened. She sat on the bed with tears in her eyes... all alone, lost in her thoughts. She suddenly felt a warm touch on her shoulders. She quickly wiped her tears to see Niranjan who then sat beside her.

"I am very happy today, Anjali...!" said Niranjan putting his arm around her shoulders.

"He called me 'Aai' today!!" she said happily as more tears rolled down her eyes. "Today I got my son back!! After all these years... I.. I am so happy...! Aap nahi jaante main kitni khush hoon!!" she said placing her head on Niranjan's shoulder.

"I know Anjali..." said Niranjan, "All thanks to Aastha!! God bless that girl!" he said gladly.

Suddenly Anjali realised something and pulled herself back from Niranjan. Niranjan was confused.

"Has Shlok told everything to Aastha?" she asked looking at Niranjan.

"I guess so..." said Niranjan. "I am surprised too... Shlok never spoke about it to anyone... But he told Aastha everything, probably... But why are you thinking about it?!! Forget it and be happy!!" He took Anjali into his embrace.

"You know, I am feeling so happy as if I am a mother who has just now given birth to her child!!" said Anjali. Niranjan laughed caressing her. "Today is the happiest day of my life" she said and Niranjan agreed with a smile.
