^ 2013.. nope, Akshay has been the highest individual tax payer for several years. He was bragging about it on CNWK himself today and many sources like Hindustantimes have confirmed it.

Akshay Kumar highest tax payer, beats Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan

Akshay Kumar may be having to fight really hard against Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan in Bollywood, vying for top honours, but away from the film battlefield, Akshay has beaten all three of them in terms of tax returns.

Akshay who has been on a professional high, with back-to-back hits likeHousefull 2, Rowdy Rathore, OMG: Oh My God! and Special 26 has achieved another feat by becoming Bollywood's highest advance income tax payer for the sixth consecutive year.

In fact Akshay Kumar has apparently paid Rs. 18 crore this year as compared to his Rs. 20 crore shell out in 2012, followed by Salman Khan in the second spot at Rs. 11 crore, Shah Rukh Khan at third shelling out Rs. 10.5 crore while Aamir Khan is believed to have paid Rs. 8 crore.

On the other hand, among actresses, Katrina Kaif has apparently paid the highest income tax at Rs. 4.5 crore, beating her rival Kareena Kapoor by a narrow margin who paid Rs. 4 crore, while Priyanka Chopra trailed behind with Rs. 2 crore.

You're right. I just checked. Akshay has been topping the list for quite a number of years. SRK was highest in 2010 and 2011. Salman in 2012. Akki again in 2013.
