Sharad Malhotra: Bad day, good scene!

Sharad Malhotra's (Sagar of Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann) bad day on the sets worked to his advantage. The actor vented his frustrations in a scene that required him to act like a psychopath resulting in a broken glass table and a great performance.

The scene from Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann required Sagar to behave in a way that would force his wife, Vidya, and other family members to send him to a mental hospital.

Sharad says: "I was frustrated and very irritated on that day. I got so involved in the shot that I banged a plate on the table about 60 times in one minute. Something else was going through my mind and I guess and I didn't realize what I was doing. There was pin drop silence on the sets when the table broke; everybody was stunned."

The actor injured himself in the process but his good work was acknowledged.

"I hurt my thumb and both my palms were swollen. I turned red and was unable to bring myself in to a good frame of mind. After I was done with the scene everybody came running and I was given first aid immediately. I know that the production house suffered a loss but I was appreciated because the shot was very real. I felt very good when the director showed his appreciation. I usually get so involved in a scene that in the end I hurt myself. There have been many such incidents."

Sharad is extremely busy playing the psychotic lead character on Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann. He says, "I have got many offers for ads, theatre and serials but currently I shoot for about 24 days a month only for Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann. I don't get good sleep because of this. I do want to do lots of ads and serials but I think a person has to wait for his time. My time will come soon."
