Baldev is a chauvinist. This was clear even when he started persuing Veera. He thought guys don't fall in love. Only girls do. Little did he know that he has already fallen in love with Veera. Hence all the emotions he was feeling when he saw her. The reason he could not stay away from her. The reason why her pain hurt him. It was because he was in love. But he is yet to understand this. He is yet to understand the serious nature of his feelings. Why it hurt him THAT much when he realised that Veera has been playing a game. All he has acknowledged was that he wanted to "win" her. But WHY he wanted it?? He is yet to acknowledge. But the depth of his hurt when he found out the truth has only one indication. The intensity of his feelings for Veera.
The reason that Baldev wanted to be sarpanch was because that is the highest post in the Pind and HE wanted to occupy it. Yes he was passionate about it. But not in the right way. He wanted to win, and he was ready to do some Hera Pheri for it. But the reason he went THIS seriously into the wrong path was because of his challenge to Veera. His heartbreak was fuelling his self destruction and will continue to do so!!
Coming to Veera...I think she herself is unaware of her true feelings towards Baldev. She has always regarded him as an enemy from childhood. Then they built a kind of understanding. He became more of a Frenemy and then actually a sort of friend and confidant. They started to have their own moments and their own special interactions minus a crowd. I don't think even SHE realises when he became important to her. But admit it or not, he is!!
Yes she was irritated by him and wanted him to stop persuing her. But there was a part of her that enjoyed their interactions. Enjoyed his attention and actually liked it!! She wont admit it, but she was starting to feel something for him too. After the date it was clear that she was effected by his closeness. So she HAD to get him out of her life. She came in with this lame plan of driving him away by being TOO lovey dovy with him. Little did she expect that things would get this out of control. I think deep down inside she was wondering if his feelings are not a game too? Also she has always regarded him as irresponsible. So she thinks he is not life partner material. She has this metal block in her about him. She has misunderstood him on many levels and pre judged him. This made it hard for her to see the sincerity of his feelings!!
But I think deep down inside there is a part of Veera that is as much in love with Baldev and he is with her!! I know this is a controversial comment. But I honestly believe she has not introspected about her feelings. Neither has Baldev. He was just one step ahead, coz he decided to pursue her. But Veera if she is honest will have to admit that she liked being pursued. Baldev made her feel special. He was romantic and dashing. Most girls would fall flat for him with the sort of attention he was giving her. But Veera is not "most" girls. (This is what I love about her). Her EGO stopped her from admitting her true feelings. Mark my words. She is in love with him too!! She just doesn't KNOW it yet!!
