Some months ago, BizAsia had reported that American filmmaker Mitesh Patel was to make a film on the life of Narendra Modi and had approached Vivek Oberoi for the same. Though there have been no developments announced regarding that project since, the latest is that Madhur Bhandarkar is also planning a biopic on Modi, who is now India's Prime Minister.
"Madhur had even met Mr Modi ten months ago and has been very impressed by his journey from being a tea-seller to becoming India's 15th Prime Minister. The film is being planned and will feature Modi's entire life - from his childhood to the present. Madhur's team has thus been doing a lot of research on Modi's life," a source told Hindustan Times.
Bhandarkar has previously made many successful films, including: Chandni Bar' (2001), Page 3' (2005) and Fashion' (2008).
