Rituparno Ghosh seems to have pulled off a casting coup of a kind with his favourite filmi family, the Bachchans. In circles where it really matters, the buzz is that the filmmaker, who is extremely close to the family, has now convinced Amitabh, Abhishek, Jaya and Aishwarya to be a part of an yet untitled film. Sources close to Rituparno inform that he has already spoken to the actors and they have given consent to the ambitious film. However, dates for the film are yet to be finalised as Abhishek and Aishwarya have just got back from their extended honeymoon early this week. Essentially, a dark family drama the plot revolves around a family of four and their exploits. We hear that convincing the Bachchans was not an easy task. Rituparno, who is known to have handpicked sweets and jewellery for the grand Abhiash wedding, has been planning the film for some time now. He had explained the concept to Amitabh while filming for The Last Lear. Says a source close to Rituparno, "The film will start once the actors are done with their other projects." Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra had attempted to bring the family together for a film, titled, Bhairavi, in the past. Rakeysh had plans of making the film later but now he has fallen out with the Bachchans. Abhishek turned down Dilli 6 once he got to know that Rakeysh is making a film with Mukesh Ambani. Considering that the Bachchans are close to Mukesh's younger brother Anil, the association between the filmmaker and Mukesh did not go down well with the Bachchans thus leading to a spat. When asked if Rituparno is planning to make a film with the Bachchans, he says, "No. Not at all." However, our sources insist that the ambitious film is definitely in the pipeline.
