The weekend is here, which means we have two brand new episodes of 25th & 26th May to talk about of the current most talked about show – the Zee SRGMP C2007 challenge. 😛

Last weeks highlight was some good performances and offcourse the "roti" and "genre" talks. 😆 What about this week's episodes then. Was there any memorable performance, any memorable goof ups, any frustrating events?

😆 😆 😆 last week was just too hilarious 😆 😆

I only started watching SRGMP after reading that interview on Himesh and Asha's arguments on SRGMP 😆 😆 .

This week has been good so far, nothing special, i thought that newly wed guy would break down completely but he didn't 😕 . the article gave wrong expression then 😕

Anyways, LOVED that "Ashiq Banaya Apne" by Asha ji 😆 😉

I think it was ok. The drama was less but then again the singing was very average too. I am talking abt yesterdays episode i havent seen todays episode yet because i dont like to see it online.

So i will update this post later when i see todays episode but yesterdays singing was very average not upto SRGMP standards at all.

Just my two cents. Maybe i expect too much from this show.

I liked the 26th episode a lot.👏 It was good.

I loved the way Ashaji tought Jolly how to sing.

I loved the way Bappida gives a chance to the talent.👏

Imran was a major disappointment....

The episode of the 25th aired in the UK this evening. My thoughts...

Anita Bhatt was interesting - we only saw a short clip of her from the auditions, so I'd be interested to hear her singing properly in the studio.

Umm...I don't think HR chose the right person for ID. No offence to Brijesh but he wasn't the strongest singer out of the guys that performed from Eklavya.

I thought HR slapping himself and that whole bit was quite sweet..hehe 😳

Nirupama was good - she has good voice quality...not screechy or too high-pitched - very nice.

I was pleasantly surprised by Joy. I remember seeing him in the first episode and thinking 'oops..who let him on?' but he was quite good 😊

Umm..Sarika. I actually didn't like it that much 😕 Each to their own opinion, but her voice wasn't smooth or soothing. Bit wobbly and just not for me..oh well.

Imran. Oh dear. I felt kinda sorry for him but Ashaji was bang on with her comment that he needs to concentrate and try and get out of the habit of singing as he does on stage shows. It was like listening to karaoke. ID's comment about the pahad made my dad laugh so much..hehe..naughty ID 😆 All that hype and for what end...

Jyothi - I liked her..thought her nervousness was very obvious, so she wasn't relaxed at all. But she has a sweet voice. Maybe in a few years she will really shine.

Wasi - I was a bit disappointed here. Maybe it was the choice of song but this one I started getting restless and got a bit bored..

Reecha - I really liked her performance 😊 I don't know what the technical term is but her voice is so 'bendy'...lol..maybe that's the wrong term..you know what I mean - she can switch from note to note quite well.

Sikander - Nice. It wasn't 'mindblowing fantastic' (hehe) but still, decent. He has a very deadpan expression and I wasn't sure whether it was deliberate or not, but sang well today.

All in all, it was an okay episode. None of the performances really made me think 'wow'..look forward to better things tomorrow 😊

Thought in terms of all the drama and everything else, it was much much better, no fights this time 😃 In the end with Sarika (?) fainting, that was really the only thing..

But in terms of singing, hmmm was not really too impressed with anybody's singing 😕 not much feeling, need more throw,.. thought Sikander was quite good, but really other than him... hmmmm.

Sad that Ashaji is going to go now, let's see then what happens with the four Gharanas by themselves now! 😛

And next wk is the last week for Eklavya Gharana contestants to be chosen??? Hope Sayan gets in 😳

On Friday, the star of the show I feel was Bappida and his performance

The songs were all good, the performers, were average, none really was outstanding. Sikander was good, but Ashaji was right, most of them sand technically correct, but the soul of the song , the feel was missing...

Nirupama, Sikender were better than the rest. Wasi somehow was not upto tmy expectations.

Imran was a damper. What was VS hyping him up so much for - poor guy did not even get a chance to go to sasural.

Sarika's voice, I really did not enjoy much. Reecha (is that her name) , she i feel can perform better. Jyoti was too nervous.

Joy was average.

Saturdays highlights i will post later...

I liked today's episode just for the "roti milega!" 😆

Sikander and Nirupama were good in yesterday's episode 👏 The other's were just average. Today's episode, Reecha was very good. I didn't think Sarika's voice suited the song...she was trying but it just didn't work 😕 Jyoti has a nice voice, but like Asha ji said she doesn't put much life into the song. The second time she sang well! Imraan, to be honest, was pretty bad both times. I felt bad for him though. He came all the way from Africa and he's out already

Overall, less drama this week 😛

Saturday's episode was funny.😆 full of humour

Performance wise...

Amonst the girls , Reecha was the best, Jyoti was not at all good in the first try, but after the suggestions by Asha tai, she showed trememdous improvement.

I did not like sarika voice much, it has a very nasal twang..and sounds shrill. Her performance today was very average.

Amongst the boys, Imran was the worst. Joy was just OK, he lacked the punch required for the song. Between the three liked Wasi's performance the best .

Imraan was better in Pardesi jaana nahi..

Loved Ashaji's statement of "pehele saraswati aur uske peeche laxmi.."

The Roti statement by Ashaji & Shekhar was very funny....wonder what Himesh has to say.

Now regarding judgement,m its not surprising to see Imran go. As regards to the girls, for the first time I feel Ashaji's selection for girls was not just. Sarika's yesterdays performance was better than Jyoti's. Today Jyoti in the first attempt and Sarika were both equally bad. so since sarika was better yesterday, she should have got the green signal. Jyoti showed tremendous imrovement, but the judgement was on the first song only. so the final decision should have been on the merit of yesterdays performance I feel.

In this week's episode, none were extraordinary.

Being nervous and not performing well is no excuse. Opportunity knocks on the door just once. Most seemed nervous, and the feel , the punch was lacking in most of them

Sarika's fainting was unfortunate, but if she wants to become something in life, she has to gain mental strength first, every job has challenges and every challenge can have mixed results. To overcome challenges in ones challenge is what makes one a survivor.

The show was worth watching. I still feel the overall combination of singing + judging + drama on this show is far better than the others (not going to name any names 😉 ).

Bappi da's episode was tough - it always is. His music is unconventional, and the onus of carrying the song falls strongly on the shoulders of the singer. You need exceptional singers to pull off Bappi da songs. Keeping that in mind, I think the contestants weren't too bad. Sikander was quite good, and Sarika was great - dunno why Asha ji let a minor problem with her range overshadow her singing.

On the 2nd day there were obviously much better performances, since it was contestants' choice. Looks like all 3 male singers ended up with sore throats at the same time - it must be an epidemic going on there 😉. But all singers, with the exception of Imran, were good. Sarika was good again, and Jyoti managed to sing well in her second attempt.

Imran was not up to the mark - and I felt sorry for him. He probably landed in India not very long ago, and didn't have the luxury of having any lessons with his gurus. I hope he spends time in Gujrat with his susral, it would be cruel to make it to India after all the visa hassle, and then leave in 2 days 😭 .

Gurus were relaxed. No hungama from any of them. Himesh was relaxed in his one episode. Felt great to hear all those multiple adjectives from him after Sarika's performance - reminded me of C2005 😛 . Shekhar got to speak a lot more after he took Himesh's seat, and also indulged in some mimicry. His comments after Joy's performance, about taking him to baseball stadiums with 35,000 people and guaranteeing him roti, were hilarious 😆 . The other mentors were also good. Bappi da spoke more, but his comments were as safe as ever. Ismail continues to strike me as a very honest judge, especially when he admitted at the end that Sarika should have stayed instead of Jyoti. Vishal is also another frank and honest person - he told Imran that he was going to go today.

Also interesting to see how Himesh and Ismail picked Eklavya members for each others' gharanas - dekhte hain kitne din chalti hai yeh yaari dosti 😉 .

Aditya seems to be easing into his role now, and enjoying it. His slip-of-tongue about 'zordaar saaliyaan' for Imran 😆 was probably scripted, but it shows that he's a good actor, better than Sonu at any rate 😉 .

Asha ji provided us a lot of entertainment, and much treasured knowledge. But her final act was a damp squib . I'd already been surprised by her not giving Sarika a green light on the first day, but to eliminate her was just too much! I don't know what her judgment was, or whether it was biased or not - but it was wrong. It was all well that mentors sang songs for her before the girls' result was announced. I'm not sure any of them would have wanted to do that after knowing Sarika was out 😡 .

i just loved sikandar's song n perfermance but i kindda start craking up when he said that he wouldn't cry because HE DOESN'T WANT HIS MAKEUP TO GET ALL MEST UP
hahahah in my whole entire life his the first male person to care about his makeup.😆 😆

veryy sad that sarika leftt, she passed out after she heard that shes going home.. i was expecting reecha to go home.. soo unfair. 😕 😭
