I am sure no offense is intended by the writer. One of the many images of "The Lord" in popular fiction is that of a ladies man, a concept quite frequently used and narrated in many stories about Him.

I think what is really offensive is the rampant use and personification of Hindu Gods and Goddesses in unmerited and undeserved male and female leads of serials in a vulgar attempt to pander to people's religious sentiments and garner TRPs. (e.g. Rudra in the image of Shiva and Paro in the image of Parvathi, doing ridiculous things as choking the man's throat just so he can gain a blue throat like Shiva - I find this offensive). The writer simply extrapolated that gross pandering to highlight the ridiculousness of the idea.
