Hi Friends

Can weddings in India really be organised overnight as it is often portrayed in serials?

I mean where I live, weddings of people from the Indian Diaspora are quite an elaborate thing that lasts at least for a week and which require a lot of planning & preparation (at the very least 6 months) and you have to invite all the family & friends

Is it possible to have the haldi ceremony next to someone and then marry someone else?

Isn't marriage supposed to be a lifelong commitment that 2 persons make to each other...can anyone, in his/her sane mind, marry someone else ( especially if he already loves someone) for the sake of just taking revenge?

Sorry gals, but I feel that CVs sometimes do not seem to understand that the realistic aspects must be taken into consideration and watchers can't be fed with any nonsense

Would love to hear from you

Yes it is portrayed as a joke
The families didn't even know who their apple of eye is getting married too till she exchanged rings !!!!
Unfortunately lack of creative writing and ego and promotion of a certain someone marriage is a joke now

Basically these serials take marriages for a joke. My fav show had the male lead drag the female to the temple and forcibly marry her. I don't understand how they can take it so lightly but then it is "reel" life so things are not as important as "real" life. Still I wish CVs didn't take marriages like a joke. Every serial they get married a few times after the hate marriage.😕

My Uncle's wedding was planned overnight and there were 500 people at the wedding, so it was no small affair.
He saw and met his prospective bride on a Thursday and the wedding took place 2 days later, this was in 2001 in a small city.

But you should never take anything shown on Hindi serials as reality.
These serials are strictly designed for entertainment purposes and to garner trps and yet so many people on these online forums can't differentiate between reality and entertainment .

In real life hate marriage don't exsist they just don't marry
I mean every serial they either hv hate marriage or mu during marriage or compromise marriage
And they don't even show the track where he repents show them talking to door saying how bad I was and one sorry and that's it !!!
😡
There is lack of creative writing and or they don't to take risk but what they hv done is also a risk and I hope they will get message with low trp hopefully it's not late but this killed show and lead character for me beyond relair

This is a slap on the face of the institution of marriage...its become a joke and the sad part of it is that the majority of audience are young girls who are gong to embark on thier own special journeys of love and marriage...Is this the message you want ot give your viewers?
